  • This article attempts to explore how the women retirees under study were able to continue work until retirement. This study used life histories, especially focusing on daily working lives, and uncovered a number of key issues through in-depth interviews. The main results are as follows: Firstly, the women retirees examined here had been raised as highly educated people, and their strong educational background was a base component for them to have relatively secure careers. Their parents had also supported practically the women retirees during their working lives. In addition, the women retirees had to can out the roles of 'provider' for their original families, procreation families or in-law families, even though they were not given the recognized roles of provider. Secondly, the women retirees had a private infra system to support them with housework and child care. In addition, because they were financially able to employ housemaids, the women retirees did not experience conflicts with their husbands, who took on a neo-traditional sex role. Finally, thanks to relatively good working conditions such as having vacations and being able to come to and leave the office on time, the women retirees were able to continue work until retirement no mean feat in a society which openly practiced gender discrimination.

  • The best way to express space effectively on internet is to use 3D VR(Virtual Reality) contents. But it is too difficult to control the 3D VR space with the 2D device. So the content makers cannot solve this problem easily. Besides they define the UI control in their own subjective way which makes the users confused. The purpose of this study is to present the grounds for the Control UI standardization by studying the deriving improvement direction. First of all, we categorize current control UI designs for space-VR on web service by controlling method features into three Types. Next we itemize the main improvement direction that is based on our analysis. First, the UI design that maintains for a typical 2D Input Device method to help the beginner users. Secondly, the concise UI that allows users to Immerse easily in VR. Thirdly, the control level construction that satisfies both users who are skillful at 3D games and users who have little experience with these devices. In this way, we propose the most suitable control UI model that satisfies these improvement directions. We expect the result of our study to serve as an important basis for the standardization of VR services.

To do this, 108 essays which the students submitted in both semesters in 2013 were analyzed qualitatively. As a result, the 4 themes such as 'reflection on the life of consumption', 'practices', 'changes', 'recognized meanings of the class' were extracted. Firstly, some students were reflective on their acts of consumption in everyday life. They have consumed in an undisciplined, unthoughtful manner and have experienced various negative emotions in their consumption, and have the motive of change. Secondly, the study showed the consumption of clothes, eating, house, leisure, body, digital, wedding is variously included in their practices of consumption. In the category of common practices, 'sharing consumption giving a bigger happiness', 'sustainable consumption caring about the earth and the next generation', 'smart consumption through discipline', 'responsible consumption considering community and producer', 'field trips and consumption of experience as learning' are included, and 'meaningful feeling of happiness through practices' are extracted. Thirdly, they have experienced positive changes such as reduction in consumption desire and increased concern with mind, relationship and conscious consumption. Fourthly, students think of the class as a necessary, useful, practical subject, and have a precious opportunity to learn many aspects they don't think about before, and don't practice, and say that they persistently continue to practice. Therefore, to promote the happiness as a consumer and consumer citizen leader in the society, it's necessary to offer a related class in more universities.

  • Mobile communications is argued to reshape and activate the existing space by increasing 'mobile communicability en route' and 'real time interaction.' This study is designed to make an empirical analysis on how different the use of a cellular phone is in each different space. In this study, the space is divided into three distinct parts including the private, social and public space. First, spatial micro-coordination and experience of polysemy of place are widely observed in the use of a mobile phone in the private space. Secondly, it is found that a mobile phone contributes to extending the scope of social contacts which in turn compliments the existing social relationship. Moreover, a full-time intimate community that is connected via a mobile phone results in reshaping the social space. Lastly, the study shows that the usage pattern of a mobile phone varies depending on the type of public space. The technological development is envisaged to lead to more demand for the public space while facilitating the use of the public space.

  • This research was to find out the effectiveness of the horticultural therapy program based on the therapeutic factors and the most meaningful experiences of the clients. For this purpose "Green harmony" program focused on harmony through horticulture was implemented. It is based on the preposition that holistic health is promoted with harmonious relationships with oneself, other people, community and nature. The program has three-fold structure: In innermost it deals with the task of the late adolescent, i.e., self identity, secondly the experience of communication and solidarity in the group, and finally extension of interest to the community. For the therapeutic intervention, questions using the metaphor of the activity were given to the clients for the establishment of self-identity, while group activity and the donation of the works let the second and third purpose accomplished. Outdoor activity, 'Tire garden project', has provided the clients with chances of the contact with nature, cooperation with other group members, and a contest to provoke enthusiasm. Also recycling and greening of the community were possible by utilizing old tires for the containers and by donating the final works to the community. For the evaluation of the result, the effect of the program on the stress of the college students was tested, and the most meaningful experiences during the participation to the program were asked to identify the therapeutic factors acknowledged by clients. "Green harmony" program has brought positive effects on the stress of the clients in spite of relatively short period of five weeks. The clients has acknowledged plant/nature contact and interactions between group members for the most meaningful experiences. This research suggests "Green harmony" horticultural therapy program based on the therapeutic factors is highly applicable for the general populations.
