KSLA(Korea School Library Association) is a representative professional association related to school libraries and teacher librarians in Korea. This study tried to propose the strategic plan of KSLA. To do this, major works of KSLA are defined after analyzing current issues of school libraries and the internal environment. Among them, 12 works are selected as strategic works. The survey was carried out to decide which works are regarded as more important or less. After all, this study proposed the strategic plan for 4 works, which are the revision of school libraries promotion law, the revision of elementary and secondary education law, the investigation of teacher librarians' grievance cases and the collection of outstanding educational cases in school libraries.

Analyzing research schools' reports on school library activities, this paper identifies the characteristics and problems of library assisted instruction (LAI), and proposes areas and ways for improvement. Twenty three reports of secondary schools in Edunet were analyzed and their content were categorized into 13 educational activities. Most frequently implemented activities were collection development, reading programs, LAI, and Digital Library System (DLS). The verified positive impact of LAI include enhanced motivation for reading and improved ability for self-directed learning. Areas for improvement include LAI's excessive dependence on DLS and reading activities, insufficient time and library materials which hindered students' information activities. In order for LAI to be more effective in enhancing self-directed learning ability, it is suggested to connect LAI to specific educational experiences and develop customized and detailed content.

School Library is both a space and a place. The difference between space and place is the same as in the difference between house and home. Space may be described in terms of physical shape. Place is concept that formulated by personal experience. The social and cognitive developmental stages of elementary, middle and high school students are different, so the placeness or sense of place may be different. The purpose of this study is to figure out the differences in elementary and secondary school student's formative factors of placeness and examine the process that those factors are connected to the results of the user behavioral intentions through the medium of place attachment, place value perception. The data are collected from 590 students and analyzed by SPSS 19 and AMOS 19. The results of this study are as follows. The physical, active behavioral and psychological factors affect on placeness formation of elementary and secondary school students in school libraries. Elementary school students are significantly affected more by physical factors, active behavioral factors than middle and high school students. This study confirmed the process that those factors are connected to the results of the user behavior through the medium of place attachment, place value perception.

The aim of this study is to classify the structure levels and types of the reading program in the secondary school library. The object of analysis is the practice case of the reading program included in 'Occupying School Library by 1318 Bookworms' for recently 10 years. There are 375 cases. According to the analysis result, most of the reading programs have three layers made up of 'blend title- reading activities- educational activities'. And there are classified into eight types (lecture, viewing, presentation, exhibition, making sth, debating, answering a quiz, experience) of the reading activities. The type of reading program depend on how to combine to the educational activities(reading, writing, listening, watching, speaking, making). This attribute of educational activities match up with modularity, completeness itself and organizing system. Through modular process of educational activities, it's possible to design their own reading programs based on the reading activity by adding, compensating other educational activities.

The National Department of Education approved the 'Information and Library' 'Curriculum which contained the educational role of school libraries. This curriculum contained and integrated the library guidance, reading education and cooperative instruction that teacher-librarians have taught. The school education has basically been led, based on curriculum. Therefore, it is important to have all kinds of educational activities related to the school library approved as school curriculum. This study is to introduce Base Connectionism, Base Integrationism, Top 456 Approach, and Curriculum-Based Approach, based on 'Information and Library' curriculum.
Background: Clinical Pharmacy Practice Experience (CPPE) is an important curriculum that offers students patient-centered disease prevention and treatment with evidence-based optimal pharmacotherapy for better clinical outcomes. However, few studies have evaluated the perception of pharmacy students regarding CPPE in tertiary and secondary hospitals. This study aimed to evaluate the perception of pharmacy students regarding the learning program of CPPE. Methods: The survey questionnaire consisted of 15 self-administered questions regarding pharmacy practices, barriers, and improvement of practical training. Fourteen institutional pharmacies located in seven regions responded to a survey questionnaire from March 1 to June 30, 2017. The participants were pharmacy students doing clerkship in a hospital setting. Results: The response rate was 73.6%. Thirty-five participants (22.4%) had used a hospital library, but 121 (77.6%) had never used the library for drug information resources. Eighty-one (50.0%) responded that clinical knowledge and drug information was the most beneficial practice. Thirty-seven (31.1%) respondents in the tertiary hospitals and 19 (46.3%) in the secondary hospitals answered that they were filling prescriptions during the daily break. On the other hand, 72 respondents (60.5%) in the tertiary hospitals and 17 (41.5%) in the secondary hospitals did literature research to prepare for presentation. Conclusion: More students in secondary hospitals continue to fill prescriptions during the daily break, as compared to those in tertiary hospitals. Therefore, the authors suggest self-directed learning to improve clinical performance and each institution considers offering onsite or online library service to improve evidence-based CPPE for pharmacy school students.

School libraries are one of the essential parts for high quality education. The Seventh Educational Cumiculum emphasizes the development of creative and autonomous students who can solve problems in a self-directed way. The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development come into forcing the installation of school digital library since 2001. Also, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development has presented the Master Plan of School's Activation in July 2002. In this situation, the research and discussion on effective model of school digital library are very important. Thus, This study aims to design a model of school digital library differentiated School's sizes depending on primary and secondary school's current status. This study is proposed 4 facility model of school digital library based differentiated school's sizes and designed A-type, B-Type model on individual model.

The study was a descriptive cross-sectional survey which investigated the reading preferences of secondary school students in Nigeria during the lockdown occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic. A hundred secondary school students in Ile- Ife and Ilesa in Osun State, Nigeria were the study respondents. Close ended self-administered questionnaire was used to obtain data. Of the one hundred questionnaire which were applied to the study respondents, ninety-three were retrieved. Data obtained were analyzed using simple frequencies and percentages. The study established that majority of respondents were not pressured to read but read for pleasure. Preference for a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books which was read for purposes ranging from academic, social, relaxation and information was indicated by respondents. Availability of reading materials determined reading preference of majority of respondents as many could not afford to access electronic books whether free or not. The researchers recommended that different types of reading materials that suit the reading preferences and meet the diverse purpose of reading should be provided for the secondary school students during lockdown to improve their reading habits. Public libraries should function during this lock down period within the guidelines of the appropriate health authorities, while school libraries should be equipped to offer virtual services during the lockdown and the students should be exposed to e-books for their reading pleasure.
Curvularia lunata is an important maize foliar fungal pathogen that distributes widely in maize growing area in China, and several key pathogenic factors have been isolated. An yeast two-hybrid (Y2H) library is a very useful platform to further unravel novel pathogenic factors in C. lunata. To construct a high-quality full length-expression cDNA library from the C. lunata for application to pathogenesis-related protein-protein interaction screening, total RNA was extracted. The SMART (Switching Mechanism At 5' end of the RNA Transcript) technique was used for cDNA synthesis. Double-stranded cDNA was ligated into the pGADT7-Rec vector with Herring Testes Carrier DNA using homologous recombination method. The ligation mixture was transformed into competent yeast AH109 cells to construct the primary cDNA library. Eventually, a high qualitative library was successfully established according to an evaluation on quality. The transformation efficiency was about $6.39{\times}10^5$ transformants/$3{\mu}g$ pGADT7-Rec. The titer of the primary cDNA library was $2.5{\times}10^8cfu/mL$. The numbers for the cDNA library was $2.46{\times}10^5$. Randomly picked clones show that the recombination rate was 88.24%. Gel electrophoresis results indicated that the fragments ranged from 0.4 kb to 3.0 kb. Melanin synthesis protein Brn1 (1,3,8-hydroxynaphthalene reductase) was used as a "bait" to test the sufficiency of the Y2H library. As a result, a cDNA clone encoding VelB protein that was known to be involved in the regulation of diverse cellular processes, including control of secondary metabolism containing melanin and toxin production in many filamentous fungi was identified. Further study on the exact role of the VelB gene is underway.

It has been observed that the purpose of education is poorly coordinated with the school library. Consequently a healthy growth of the library has been very rare, and educational process has been rather inefficient. Therefore this study attempts to define the role of a school library and the necessasity of its growth, examine principals' concepts of the library, find out the adverse causes for its growth, and make some suggestions to rectify them. A questionnaire was designed to get information on the principals' conceptions about the nature and the role of a school library, a librarian, and adverse causes for the growth of the library. This study is largely based on the analysis of this questionnaire. The results of this study may be summarized as. follows: 1) The school library is not generally considered as the center of educational activities. It is rather variously regarded as a subsidiary organization for education, a place where reading materials are offered, a place where books are kept, or a reading room. 2) This was largely due to the misconceptions of the principals as to the true nature and the role of the school library. 3) The degrees of their misconceptions varied depending on the amount of their exposure to the library science. Those principals who studied library science more hours had better understanding of the library. 4) Although the principals showed rather much concern for the library, the school library was not up to the expectation largely due to their misconception of it. 5) Most of the principals felt that they needed more knowledge on library science to carry out their job. This feeling was stronger for those who spent more hours in a library science course. 6) Most of the principals wanted to offer a position for a dual function: a librarian and a teacher. This was largely due to their lack of knowledge as to the duties of a librarian-which were considered as secondary to the duties of a teacher. 7) The majority of the principals thought the librarians were not paid well enough, but some of the principals o n.0, pposed their pay raise. The former generally took more courses in library science than the latter. 8) Many principals agreed that the adverse causes for the growth of the school library originated from the regional or governmental school authorities. This seemed to indicate that the legal requirements for the library were inadequate and that there was no administrative organization to take care of the library. 9) Most of the principals considered the insufficient funds as the major reason for the present poor condition of the library. But considering the fact that some libraries are better equi n.0, pped that others, financial matter cannot be the deciding factor. It rather seemed that there is some serious problems in the current educational system. For further studies in this field and for the libraries to function properly, the following suggestions are made here: 1) The major adverse cause for the healthy growth of the school library was found in the misconceptions on the school library by the principals, and these misconceptions were largely due to their lack of knowledge. Therefore they should be given more o n.0, pportunities to take courses in library science. 2) The librarian should not be overburdened with other duties than what his job duly calls for, and they should be properly compensated for their own job. They should also be encouraged to grow as librarians. 3) Education itself should be improved so that the library becomes the center of learning. 4) An administrative department should be created to oversee the school libraries, and legal measures should be enacted for better school libraries. 5) Financial su n.0, pport should be provided for a period of time in order to upgrade the school library to a certain level. Finally it is strongly felt that more detailed and inclusive studies in this field should be carried on and further experimental studies should be done.
