Effects of Ti and TiN Capping Layers on Cobalt-silicided MOS Device Characteristics in Embedded DRAM and Logic

  • Cobalt silicide has been employed to Embedded DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) and Logic (EDL) as contact material to improve its speed. We have investigated the influences of Ti and TiN capping layers on cobalt-silicided Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) device characteristics. TiN capping layer is shown to be superior to Ti capping layer with respect to high thermal stability and the current driving capability of pMOSFETs. Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) showed that the Ti capping layer could not prevent the out-diffusion of boron dopants. The resulting operating current of MOS devices with Ti capping layer was degraded by more than 10%, compared with those with TiN.

  • In this study, the axial ODSCC occurrence of domestic OPR 1000 steam generator tube was caused by the tube weakness and the sludge accumulation in the secondary side of steam generator. Inconel 600 HTMA used as tube material is related to most of tube leakage accidents in the world and also these ODSCCs were detected mainly at the 5th TSP(Tube Support Plate) to the 8th TSP of hot leg side. These elevations(5th TSP to 8th TSP) pave the way for the sludge accumulation. As a result of EC(Eddy Current) Bobbin and RPC data analysis, ODSCCs were occurred at contact points of tube and tube support plate. The more accumulated sludge, the higher occurrence frequency of ODSCC.

  • This paper shows the analysis of the inductive power transfer system in conjunction with series resonant converter operating variable high frequency. Of particular interest is the sensitivity of the complete system to variations in operational frequency and parameters. In inductive power transfer system, electrical power is transferred from a primary winding in the form of a coil or track, to one or more isolated pick-up coils that may relative to the primary. The ability to transmit power without contact enables high reliability and easy maintenance that allows inductive power transfer system to be implemented in hostile environments. This technology has found application in many fields such as electric vehicles, PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) etc. The coupling between the primary and secondary is then presented to include the effects of parameter and operational frequency variation.

  • The dynamics of the pantograph motion and contact forces of the high-speed railway are investigated through signals. acquired during a test run. The signals are obtained from accelerometers, load cells, and strain gauges attached to various positions of the pantograph, and they are processed in time-and frequency-domains to evaluate the dynamic characteristics and load forces. The natural frequencies of the pantograph is found to be 8.5Hz. There also are frequency components varying linearly with the train speed. The signal frequency components above 40Hz are attenuated as they pass through the primary and secondary suspensions.

  • Both Cobitis lutheri Rendahl and C.striata Ikeda previously regarded as the subspecies of C.taenia are revised here and raised to the species rank based on the distinct color pattern on their body sides in relation to the shpae of lamina circularis and suborbital spine, and distinct distributional patter. C. lutheri was similar to C. striata in chromosome number and karyotype, but chromosomal polymorphism as Robert sonian event was confirmed only in the population of C.lutheri studies. Both, C. kutheri and C..striata have disjunct ranges : the former in western Korea and east-northern China Mainland, the latter in the Smjin River of korea and west-southern Japan. hybridization between C. lutheri and C. striata by secondary contact appeared in the limited zone of the Dongjin River, Chllabuk-do province, korea, but the evidence for habitat segregation between them suggests the possibility that natural hybridization occurs between the two species and introgression results. We consider that the two species were produced as ecological equivalent species in the different branch stream of the Paleo-Hwangho River , The time of recession of sea level during the gracial period.

Effects of Wheel Profile on KTX Dynamic Characteristics (차륜답면 형상변화에 따른 KTX의 동특성)

  • The running safety of a railway vehicle depends on the design parameters and contact condition between wheel and rail. In this study, the effect of the conicity of wheel tread is analyzed using ADAMS/RAIL software on running situation. Modal analysis shows in 0.6 Hz natural frequency of lateral mode in fully arranged the KTX cars. The excessive vibration of the tail cars occurs in the 17th car as the speed and the stiffness of the secondary suspension increases, and especially for 1/40 conicity of the GV40 wheel. Also, the analysis shows that combination of wheel profile, GV40 for power cars and XP55 for passenger cars can reduce the lateral vibration of the tail cars.

  • Linear induction motor is adopted as an actuator of the planar stage. An inherently poor characteristic at zero or ultra-low speed zone of the induction motor is remarkably improved due to a recent development of power electronic semiconductor technology and a spatial vector control theory. At present, a servo response speed of the induction motor reaches 90 percent of one of PM synchronous or BLDC motor. Specially, as a secondary of the induction motor can be constructed using uniform conducting sheets, there is no periodic force ripple as in PM motors. So, the induction motor can be superior to another driving means under a certain condition. This paper discusses the overall development procedure of non-contact planar stage with a big workspace using linear induction motors.

PAC Pretreatment for Ultrafiltration of RBC Effluent (PAC-한외여과막을 이용한 회전원판 처리수의 고도처리)

  • Ultrafiltration(UF) and powdered activated carbon(PAC) adsorption were combined to treat wastewater contaminated with refractory organic compounds. Secondary sewage effluent of RBC process was used for the investigation. It was determined from batch test results that a contact time of 2 hours and a PAC dose of 450mg/l would be used in the experiments. Backwashing was accomplished by forcing the permeates back ward with pressure of $2.5kgf/m^2$ for 90 seconds. It was shown that refractory organics removal by the PAC-UF process was more efficient than UF process without PAC pretreatments. As backwashing frequency was decreased from four times to one time in an hour, the removal efficiency was significantly increased. The addition of PAC to the UF process mitigated the fluctuation of filtrate quality which was increased in UF process without PAC treatment as transmembrane pressure was increased.

  • ESR(ElectroSlag Remelting) Process is secondary fine process and melts steels by electric resistance heat and fines the melting steels by an approproate solidification process. The final products are determined through the velocity of melting and the course of solidification in the process that is achieved by way of proper course of solidification. Thus, it is very important to monitor and control the process parameters which affects the melting and solidification process to get the high quality products.
