Background: The scientific evidence relating to the burden of oral diseases attributable to tobacco use has been reviewed and the need for a well-structured dental teaching program concentrating on oral cancer education and tobacco cessation interventions has been emphasized. The aim of our study was to evaluate the awareness of oral cancer and perception of tobacco use cessation counseling among dental students at all study levels in India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. Materials and Methods: A structured, pre-tested, self-administered 15-item questionnaire was used to conduct a cross-sectional survey. Data analyses including percentages, frequency distributions and tests of chi-square were generated. Results: A total of 621 (97.6%) Indian, 493 (96.5%) Saudi, 194 (96.5%) Yemeni and 187 (98.4%) United Arab Emirates respondents recognized the association between oral cancer and cigarette smoking. Although more than 96% of the students surveyed recognized the association between oral cancer and cigarette smoking and about 55% reported cigarette smoking as one of the etiological factors of oral cancer, more than 66% of students who reported cigarette smoking as an etiological factor of oral cancer disagreed/strongly disagreed with all the statements concerning tobacco use cessation. Conclusions: A higher level of oral cancer awareness did not have a positive impact on the perception of tobacco use cessation counseling among the sample surveyed.
Purpose: The Cow's Milk-related Symptom Score (CoMiSSTM), which considers crying, regurgitation, stools, skin and respiratory symptoms, was developed as an awareness tool for evaluating cow's milk-related symptoms. The scoring ranges from 0 to 33. A score ≥12 was proposed as being likely cow's milk-related and suggestive of allergy to cow's milk. This study aimed to determine the age-related CoMiSSTM values in presumed healthy infants in Poland. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in well-child clinics in two locations. Parents of the presumed healthy infants aged ≤6 months were approached during a routine checkup/vaccination visit. The exclusion criteria were as follows: presence of acute or chronic diseases, preterm delivery, treatment with therapeutic formula, and use of any food supplements (except vitamins) or medications. Results: Data from 226 infants were obtained (median age [Q1-Q3], 4 months [3-4]). The overall median (Q1-Q3) and mean (standard deviation) CoMiSSTM values were 4 (2-7) and 4.7 (3.5), respectively. The 95th percentile was 11. Scores on some, albeit not all, components of the CoMiSSTM significantly differed between age groups (crying, stools) or feeding type groups (stools and skin symptoms). Eleven children (4.9%) scored ≥12. Conclusion: This study adds to earlier age-related CoMiSSTM data by providing CoMiSSTM values in presumed healthy infants in Poland.
I conducted a pretest on the students' preference before I incorporated Cooperative learning in five classes of second grade students, at a girl's middle school which is located in Gimje city. After ten weeks of Cooperative school work, the students took a post test with the same questions as the pretest. The result of this method greatly impacted on the change of students' scientific preference. It means that the students showed their positive awareness of and the participation in the science class in comparison with the classes before they were taught this new style of education. However it is difficult to distinguish the differences of their scientific attitude on the recognition about the scientists and the habit which they think scientifically. This resulted from a short period of ten weeks of learning which is not sufficient to carry out the study strategy effectively. Surveys of the students on Cooperative learning indicates that the middle level students prefer this method unlike the higher or lower level. I am convinced that they can learn from the students of higher level and are able to help the lower level with the interaction through Cooperative learning.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the career awareness, the preference for science and stereotypic image of the scientist between the gifted students and non-gifted students in elementary school. For this study, 52 gifted students and 80 non-gifted students were participated. The results were as follows: First, the career awareness of gifted students was significantly higher than that of non-gifted students. Second, the preference for science of gifted students was significantly higher in all sub-domains than non-gifted students. There was a significant interaction effect between group and gender in the scientific interest and the intention of solving problems. Third, analyzing stereotypic image test for scientist between the gifted students and non-gifted students, it proved that non-gifted students had more stereotypic image comparing with the gifted students. Forth, carrying out the correlation analysis on the career awareness and the preference for science, the career awareness and the stereotypic image of the scientist, it proved that there were significant correlations with each other. It revealed that the career awareness affected the preference for science significantly through multiple regression analysis.
BACKGROUND: The present study is an exploratory research to establish national biosafety regulation systems through a survey on the recognition of safety regulation systems for the living modified organism(LMO). METHODS AND RESULTS: We have conducted a survey on an awareness of LMO safety regulation systems in scientific working groups. The data of 235 respondents were analyzed using various statistical methods. As a result, 72.8% of the respondents were male; 27.2% were female, and 43.4% of them work in the university. A total of 33.2% of the respondents majored in general biology, and their most common job position was the laboratory safety manager. The difference of an awareness on LMO law and regulatory system was not statistically significant by either work places or job positions. CONCLUSION: For the rapid settlement and the efficient implementation of LMO safety management policy, we conclude that it is required to reduce the gap between the recognition and fulfillment of safety management. Furthermore, the mutual exchanges of information among researchers are needed with the settlement of the safety management system and the harmony of policy with improvement of the absurd regulations. The ongoing and specialized training, inspections, and the strengthening of public relations are also required along with the efforts to improve the absurd regulations.

This study aims to analyze the effects of the Agricultural Ecological Environment Program, the first agri-environmental policy in Korea. To this end, as Janghyeon in Boryeong City and Hwaam in Cheongyang County were set up as experimental group. And similar to these villages nearby, Hwangryong in Boryeong and Gideok in Cheongyang have been set up as the control group. It compared and analyzed the farms' level and structure of awareness. The main results of the study can be summarized as follows. First, the Agricultural Ecological Environment Program improved the awareness of safe agricultural product cultivation and agricultural ecological environment stabilize. However, the contribution to the formation of rural community has not been statistically significant. Second, it was found that the farms clearly distinguish and recognize the safe agricultural products cultivation, the agricultural ecological environment stabilize, and the formation of rural community. On the other hand, it was found that the control group that did not participate in the agricultural ecological and environmental program was confused on the recognition of three things or did not recognize them. To summarized, the future agri-environmental policy can be grafted onto regional development policy. So, the areas of agri-environmental policy should include both agriculture and rural. In addition, the scientific discipline and movement approach should be all used also in the method of approach.
Caring is being rediscovered as a central and unifying concept of the nursing. Traditionally, nursing profession has emphasized spirit and activities of caring. But there is little efforts to study the caring phenomena scientifically and systematically in nursing, and then the concept of caring is still remained unclear and ambiguous. Changes of social, and health care environment are threatening the philosophy and practice of caring, so it is urgent to identify caring more scientifically and to rediscover the nature of nursing discipline. Knowledge of the caring is essential component for the development of nursing as a science and a profession. The first thing to study a concept is thought to be the analysis of the concept. So in this study, concept analysis of caring was performed to clarify the concept of caring as a basis for the study of caring afterward. The approach used for the concept analysis of caring was the approach presented by Walker and Avant. The defining(or critical) attributes of caring identified in this study were (1) a series of activities for helping others, (2) concern and devotion. (3) interpersonal relationship, and (4) scientific and systematic process. The identified antecedents of caring were (1) awareness of other's needs for help, and (2) moral and cognitive motivation for helping others. The identified consequences of caring were (1) healing, (2) satisfaction, and (3) growth. And the consequences of caring were revealed to both of the care giver and the care receiver. The empirical referents of caring could be the behaviors of interpersonal relationship through scientific and systematic process with concern and devotion for others.

The article highlights the problems of the digitalization of the educational process, which affect the pedagogical cluster and are of a psychological nature. The authors investigate the transformational changes in education in general and the individual beliefs of each subject of the educational process, caused by both the change in the format of learning (distance, mixed), and the use of new technologies (digital, communication). The purpose of the article is to identify the strategic trend of the educational process, which is a synergistic combination of pedagogical methodology and psychological practice and avoiding dialectical opposition of these components of the educational space. At the same time, it should be noted that the introduction of digital technologies in the educational process allows for short-term difficulties, which is a usual phenomenon for innovations in the educational sphere. Consequently, there is a need to differentiate the fundamental problems and temporary shortcomings that are inherent in the new format of learning (pedagogical features). Based on the awareness of this classification, it is necessary to develop psychological techniques that will prevent a negative reaction to the new models of learning and contribute to a painless moral and spiritual adaptation to the realities of the present (psychological characteristics). The methods used in the study are divided into two main groups: general-scientific, which investigates the pedagogical component (synergetic, analysis, structural and typological methods), and general-scientific, which are characterized by psychological direction (dialectics, observation, and comparative analysis). With the help of methods disclosed psychological and pedagogical features of the process of digitalization of education in a mixed learning environment. The result of the study is to develop and carry out methodological constants that will contribute to the synergy for the new pedagogical components (digital technology) and the psychological disposition to their proper use (awareness of the effectiveness of new technologies). So, the digitalization of education has demonstrated its relevance and effectiveness in the pedagogical dimension in the organization of blended and distance learning under the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic. The task of the psychological cluster is to substantiate the positive aspects of the digitalization of the educational process.

Background: Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) has been used frequently, and its use continues to increase in lung cancer patients, despite insufficient scientific of its efficacy. To investigate this situation, we analyzed the current awareness and use of CAM in Korean lung-cancer patients. Methods: This prospective survey-based study was performed at seven medical centers in South Korea between August and October 2019. The survey assessed general patient characteristics and the awareness and use of CAM. We analyzed differences in the clinical parameters of patients aware and not aware of CAM and of CAM non-users and users. Results: Of the 434 patients included in this study, 68.8% responded that they were aware of CAM and 30.9% said they had experienced it. In univariate analysis, the patients aware of CAM were younger with poor performance status, had advanced-stage lung cancer, received more systemic therapy, and received concurrent chemoradiation therapy (CCRT). By multiple logistic regression, younger age, poor performance status, advanced stage, and prior CCRT were identified as independent risk factors for CAM awareness. There were no significant differences in the general characteristics and cancer-associated clinical parameters of CAM non-users and users. Conclusion: Specific clinical parameters were associated with patients' awareness of CAM, although there were no significantly different characteristics between CAM users and non-users.
The purpose of this study was to develop 'Science History Based Chemist Inquiry Program' for the science-gifted in high school and investigated the application effects on the understanding toward the nature of science, scientific attitudes, and science career orientation. This study was conducted with one class of 17 scientifically gifted high school students, and the 'Science History Based Chemist Inquiry Program' was applied during 22 class hours. The results of this study were as follows: First, the science gifted students' understanding toward the nature of science showed a statistically significant improvement (approximate significance probability .005). Property of the scientific model, sub-domain of the nature of science, is significantly improved (approximate significance probability .029). This result show that 'Science History Based Chemist Inquiry Program' can improve the scientifically gifted high school students' perception about nature of science. Second, the scientifically gifted students' scientific attitude wasn't changed significantly. However, the openness and creativity in the sub-domains of the scientific attitude showed a statistically significant improvement (p<.05). Third, science career orientation of science-gifted did not show a statistically significant change. But the value of the level of awareness about the science career has been significantly improved (p<.05).
