This study was designed to explore students' instrumentalization in relation to the van Hiele's teaching method within a technology environment using GeoGebra. To carry out the study, a total of 4 lesson units was developed based on van Hiele teaching method for two slow learners in Gyeonggi province, Korea. The results of study were as follows. Instrumentalization of students was actualized from preparation, to adaptation, and to application stages. In preparation, and adaptation stages, depending on visualization, students used a trial-and-error method a lot, however in application stage the role of GeoGebra was just to check the solution of what they conjectured. Therefore, a teacher should prepare geometric tasks according to the processes of instrumentalization based on geometric teaching method. During instrumentalization and instrumentation of users, usage scheme(US) and instrumented action scheme(IAS) should be concrete.

Despite the recent emphasis on mathematical communication, little practical guide has been provided for a teacher with what to do for orchestrating high-quality discussions in a mathematics classroom. This paper analyzed 20 elementary mathematics lessons which were recognized as effective instruction in Korea using an analytic framework with regard to 5 practices for orchestrating productive mathematics discussions (i.e., anticipating, monitoring, selecting, sequencing, & connecting) by Smith and Stein (2011) in terms of performance scales from Level 0 to 3. The results of this study showed that the most frequent levels were Level 1 including undesirable practices and Level 2 including insufficient practices. There were only one or two lessons per practice which were assessed as Level 3 of good performance. Specifically, Level 2 was the most frequent with regard to monitoring and selecting, whereas Level 1 was the most frequent as for the other practices. This paper provides some implications for co-ordinating productive mathematics discussions.

Teaching practicum plays a significant role in teacher education program because it provides pre-service teachers with an opportunity to apply what they have learned to the actual teaching contexts. As such, it needs to be conducted in terms of close collaboration between university and school. Given that, in a mathematics methods course the prospective teachers in this study had an opportunity to discuss mathematics lessons they had implemented during their teaching practicum. This paper analyzed in what ways prospective teachers' comments on elementary mathematics instruction were changed through this experience. The results of this study showed that in late comment the teachers tended to focus more on mathematical discourse, consider not only the teacher of the lesson but also students, and suggest alternative approaches on the classroom events they had noticed. It is noticeable that the results analyzed by researchers were consistent with prospective teachers' self-assessment. Building on these results, this paper provides implications of teacher preparation programs to enhance prospective teachers' ability to analyze elementary mathematics lessons.

The purpose of this study is to research about the effects on improvement academic achievement of students based on the core learning standards of science. The researcher selected experimenter and started this study as a graduate student who is majoring in science education, experimenter chose to study 48 Sixth graders in elementary schools in B city for research group(24 students), Comparison group(24 students). The study was conducted from March to the end of July 2014. The teacher who is doing activity of professor in research group and the comparison group is science education specialist. Researcher and experimenter frequently exchange their opinions for control variables of teacher. The results are as follows. First, based on unit time strategies based on core achievement standards classes are effective in improving students' academic achievement. Elementary school teacher has difficulty in teaching for all subjects based on unit time strategies. Second, based on unit time strategies based on core achievement standards classes showed high level of satisfaction in perception of students. Thus it can be seen that teaching strategies of unit time based on the core achievement standards is effective to academic achievement improvement. The proposal for further study based on the results is as follows. First, research is needed to study the teaching methods that have practical and theoretical study time and lesson application opportunity for teaching strategies of curriculum unit time. Second, experimental studies that using strategies of unit time based on the core achievement standards are needed about learning method that can be applied in a variety of subjects.
Several previous studies suggested that simulation could be a main didactic instrument in overcoming misconception and probability modeling. However, they have not described enough how to reorganize probability knowledge as knowledge to be taught in a curriculum using simulation. The purpose of this study is to identify the theoretical knowledge needed in developing a didactic transposition method of probability knowledge using simulation. The theoretical knowledge needed to develop this method was specified as follows : pseudo-contextualization/pseudo-personalization, and pseudo-decontextualization/pseudo-deper-sonalization according to the introductory purposes of simulation. As a result, this study developed a local instruction theory and an hypothetical learning trajectory for overcoming misconceptions and modeling situations respectively. This study summed up educational intention, which was designed to transform probability knowledge into didactic according to the introductory purposes of simulation, into curriculum, lesson plans, and experimental teaching materials to present didactic ideas for new probability education programs in the high school probability curriculum.
A lecture evaluation is an important factor to validate student's level and improve a reformation of the college evaluation as well. Therefore, this paper researches into the lecture evaluation to apply a better objective method and a fair assessment of all lectures. These researches are analyzed by each subject, based on the lecture assessment performed in K College. First, if a student absent more than 4 weeks, they cannot be participated in the lecture evaluation. Second, the lecture evaluation date takes place when the next class registrations start. Third, the connection between the number of students and the teaching assessment should be considered. Finally, various types of the teaching assessment tools, including the lecture evaluation method such as multiple choices or writing questions need to be applied. Finally lecture evaluation results must be reflected in the next lesson.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the elementary students' views about lab-based science learning. For the purpose of this study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with thirty sixth grade students in 12 classes from two elementary schools located in Daegu City. The interview contents consisted of three major categories. The first category was related to attitude toward science lab, the second was related to lab-based science learning which had four sub-categories; recognizing lesson object, planning experiment, performing experiment, drawing conclusion in lab-based science learning in which the students had ordinary have views and expectations, and the last category was related to students' difficulties and something need to be improved in lab-based science learning. In-depth interviews were performed individually and the interviews were recorded. From the interviews, we found that students, in first category, do like lab-activities more than lectures or instruction-based activities in textbook. Students, in second category, wanted generally more discussion for their own activities rather than teacher's instruction and they wanted teacher' mediation conflicts within small groups and comments for students' experiment results. In the last, most of students had fears for some dangerous reagents and accidents. Based on the results, the study suggested that teacher need to give their students to autonomous discussion opportunities to design and interpret data through teacher' guided questions in inquiry steps, to produce some intimate atmosphere for active interaction in small groups, and to teach the safety education on some dangerous reagents.

In this paper, we proposed the education program using Scratch as an alternative activity for the remedy program of game addiction. We tried to find the solution through computer and game that affect the problem of game addiction. We choose the high-risk students about game addiction disposition and took a programming lesson for educational game development with consultation class. We also analysed the effectiveness of our remedy program. We found the positive results between before and after the program and we analysed that game connectivity rates were decreased during recess time. In interview and observation about students, we found that the students were changed to the positive tendency about game addiction. We expect this program will give many help for solving the problem of game addiction, if this research is applied to the regular class in elementary school.
The purpose of this study is to identify the difficulties of learners who started programming after entering college and to search an effective software education method as university liber arts for non-science major students. In order to do this, we analyzed the difficulties of learners in Python programming classes composed of students from various majors at H University through questioning and taught them using flipped class model with pre-questions. The questions that students submit are collected online before class every time, the data on the degree of the difficulty of feeling and the understanding of feeling were obtained through the questionnaire. As a result, for learners who are new to programming, the learners should allocate the process of making the problem into a logical abstraction at the beginning of the curriculum before learning the basic concept of computer language, each lesson should be practiced through the bottom-up problems enough to provide a logical understanding before actual coding. In addition, detailed curriculum should be developed according to characteristics of learner's major, contents and conducting level.
Angle concepts have a multifaceted nature such as quantitative aspects as the amount of rotation, qualitative aspects as geometric shapes, and relationship aspects made with planes or lines. This study analysed angle concepts and introduction methods of angles in elementary mathematics textbooks which have been used from the Syllabus Period to the 2015 Revised Mathematics Curriculum. First, the concepts of angles in mathematics textbooks focus through the definitions, representations, and components of angles presented in mathematics textbooks are analyzed. Secondly, how various aspects of each angle are sequenced through the tasks or activties in the introduction of lesson is looked. As a result of analysis, the methods of introducing angles in the changes of mathematics textbooks have mainly focused on learning about geometric shapes and relations of components. In the mathematics classroom, students should experience various aspects of geometric shapes, rotations, relational aspects of points, lines and surfaces, and support and link them to form a wide range of concepts.
