  • The motion effect of animation can be maximized by using the intended number of frame(flickering phenomena) responding to the viewer's perception in the production processes. But, the high contrast of chroma in a color arrangement can cause very dangerous situation if a particular effect(scheduled number of frame for the intended rapid flickering in a zoom-in scene of the warning light of police car and the traffic light) or a excessive visual stimulus is tried. The danger of flickering phenomena is defined as 'Flash Nervousness Attack Symptom' in medical terminology, which has received wide attention because the damage to the viewers of Pocket Monster was very serious in Japan. Producing a piece of animation work, the quality control of colors is important but the color setting considering the psychological aspects, the danger of repetitive flickering of flashes and patterns in image effect are more serious, so these factors should be checked in the production stages. After investigating the domestic and foreign prescriptions including the guidelines for animation production technique in Japan, a solution to reduce the danger of flickering phenomena of color and light was suggested through statistical comparative analysis with the test results.

  • Will orange scent enhance video reality if it is presented with a video which vividly illustrates orange juice? Or, will romantic scent improve video reality if it is presented along with a date scene? Whereas the former is related to reality improvement when concrete objects or places are present in a video, the latter is related to a case when they are absent. This paper reviews previous research which tested diverse videos and scents in order to answer the above two different questions, and discusses implications, limitations, and future research directions. In particular, this paper focuses on measurement methods and results regarding acceptability of olfactory information, perception of scent similarity, olfactory vividness and video reality, matching between scent vs. color (or color temperature), and description of various scents using emotional adjectives. We expect this paper to help researchers or engineers who are interested in using scents for video reality.

  • When an image is converted from HDR (high dynamic range) to LDR (low dynamic range), a tone mapping process is the essential component. Many TMOs (tone mapping operators) have been motivated by human vision which has lower physical luminance range than that in real scene. The representative of human vision properties which motivate TMOs is the local adaptation. However, TMOs are ultimately compressing image information such as contrast, saturation, etc. and the compression causes defects in image quality. In this paper, in order to compensate the degradation of the image which is caused by TMOs, the visual acuity-based edge stop function is proposed for applying the property of human vision to base-detail separation. In addition, using CSF (contrast sensitivity function) which represents the relationship among spatial frequency, contrast sensitivity, and luminance, the sharpness filter is designed and adaptively applied to the detail layer in regard to surround luminance.

  • We investigated whether human could perceive the heading direction from the optic flow made from random dots and real images simulating the motion of the observer and objects. When an object moves across the focus of expansion(FOE) in random dot simulation. the observer perceived the focus of expansion biased toward the motion direction of the object. supporting the hypothesis that the direction repulsion is produced between the expansional and the horizontal planar motion components. With real image display observers tended to perceive one's heading direction biased toward the c center of the scene regardless of the direction and position of moving 0bcts. And it was observed that the deeper the depth of the background was the larger the judgment error was. These results suggest it is more likely that human depends on different cues than the optic flow when they perceive or judge one's heading direction in the real environment.

  • Improve the recognition performance of speech recognition systems as a method for recognizing human listening skills were incorporated into the system. In noisy environments by separating the speech signal and noise, select the desired speech signal. but In terms of practical performance of speech recognition systems are factors. According to recognized environmental changes due to noise speech detection is not accurate and learning model does not match. In this paper, to improve the speech recognition feature extraction using gamma tone and learning model using acoustic model was proposed. The proposed method the feature extraction using auditory scene analysis for human auditory perception was reflected In the process of learning models for recognition. For performance evaluation in noisy environments, -10dB, -5dB noise in the signal was performed to remove 3.12dB, 2.04dB SNR improvement in performance was confirmed.

  • The multimedia that is characterized by multi-media, multi-features, multi-representations, huge volume, and varieties, is rapidly spreading out due to the increasing of application domains. Thus, it is urgently needed to develop a multimedia information system that can retrieve the needed information rapidly and accurately from the huge amount of multimedia data. For the content-based retrieval of moving picture, picture information is generally used. It is generally used when video is segmented. Through that, it can be a structural video browsing. The tasking that divides video to shot is called video segmentation, and detecting the cut for video segmentation is called cut detection. The goal of this paper is to divide moving picture using HMMD(Hue-Mar-Min-Diff) color model and edge histogram descriptor among the MPEG-7 visual descriptors. HMMD color model is more familiar to human's perception than the other color spaces. Finally, the proposed retrieval system is implemented as hardware.

  • In this paper, we propose colored-hear recognition that distinguishing feature of synesthesia for human sensing by shared vision and specific sense of hearing. We perceived what potential influence of human's structured object recognition by visual analysis through the camera, So we've studied how to make blind persons can feel similar vision of real object. First of all, object boundaries are detected in the image data representing a specific scene. Then, four specific features such as object location in the image focus, feeling of average color, distance information of each object, and object area are extracted from picture. Finally, mapping these features to the audition factors. The audition factors are used to recognize vision for blind persons. Proposed colored-hear transformation for recognition can get fast and detail perception, and can be transmit information for sense at the same time. Thus, we were get a food result when applied this concepts to blind person's case of image recognition.

  • Vincent van Gogh is a Dutch postimpressionism artist that is one of the most influential painter of the 20th century with his vivid colors and sensibility. 'The Bedroom at Arles' is the art piece that van Gogh himself had admitted to be a great artwork, which also reflects the story of his life and inner thoughts. The spacial characteristics of 'The Bedroom at Arles' are amanufactures the following. First, the space shown at 'The Bedroom at Arles' exhibits the phenomenon of undoing the law of perspective by authorizing individual existence to the objects and space, instead of fitting in the objects into the space in the order given by the law of perspective; entirely rearranging the reminiscent space from past. Secondly, the expression 'bedroom' reflects that the subject was about his own experience with the space and a representation of his imagination, which is a metaphorical symbol. Thirdly, van Gogh used strong colors and brush touches to express his subjective opinion, which aren't the actual shades of the scene, but chosen only to approach the space and objectives with his own symbolic interpretation from his heart. Through a synthetic overview of the characteristics of van Gogh's 'The Bedroom at Arles', it could be told that he holds an essential Space perception system, in hir inner self. The space is intentionally rearranged and strangely altered to form an entirely new relation, breaking the tension from the systematically stable rules and orders. 'The Bedroom at Arles' seems to express an unique and symbolic sensation and experience through the combination of its colors and spacial structure.

  • This is a qualitative study of pre-service teachers' experiences in a teaching practicum course which attempted to identify the characteristics of the course that has been recently revised as professional education course. Data were collected from college students who took the professional education courses including the teaching practicum course by using both a survey on the opinions and suggestions of the students on the teaching practicum and a in-depth interview with 12 students of them. The results are as follows. First, pre-service teachers' perception of a teaching practicum course was divided into two sides : functional side and sociocultural side. The formal is that the professional education courses significantly handed to discipline practical jobs related to educational administration. The latter is that the professional education courses significantly handed to deal for teachers like pay step, extra pay, vacation, and leave of absence. Second, the pre-service teachers had suggestions that were divided into the 'curriculum content' and the 'instructional method'. For instance, regarding the 'curriculum content' they suggested such things needed as 'lessening and differentiation of content, sensitive about the scene, and lesson hands-on', and as for the 'instructional method' they suggested such things needed as actively 'doing, participating, assessing, coursework participating'. Based on these results, I have comprehended the pre-service teachers' positive response. Untill now, we have perceived that the professional education courses is excessively theory-oriented one. But a teaching practicum course is different. Meanwhile, It is not identify what the teaching practicum course as teaching refinement education course is. Due to this cause, I have comprehended that 'curriculum content' and the 'instructional method' is plunged in confusion. As pointed out this, I did concrete proposals in response to such a confusion. This proposals have helped decided on a direction of a teaching practicum course.

  • The article is devoted to the actual problem of the use of digital technologies in modern cinema in developed countries. The purpose of the study is to identify the essence of the term "cyberdramaturgy" and the problems of its use in modern film production. The research methodology is based on a systematic approach and includes the methods of the general scientific group (analysis, synthesis, deduction, induction), as well as a number of special methods: the method of content analysis of scientific literature on the research topic; sociological survey method; as well as the method of statistical analysis. The results of the survey were analyzed using the Neural Designer program (a tool for advanced statistical analytics) and translated into a graphical diagram format for clarity of perception. Answers in 75 questionnaires were evaluated by the average score for six analysis criteria, which made it possible to bring all the calculations to a 10-point scale. As a result of the study, the author of the article concluded the following: directors believe that the use of cyber analogues of actors and backgrounds leads to the blurring of genres, the hybridization of cinema and animation; directors are also concerned about the problem of replacing the director himself with a special program. The writers are completely concerned with the problem of machine scripting with almost infinite variability beyond the human imagination. Directors-producers believe that the cyberdramaturgy development will lead to completely new standards of cinematic quality, sharply different from the traditional assessment of acting and scene setting, to the appreciation of 3D animation as the highest category in the art. Such innovations actually devalue all international cinematography awards, as cyberdrama reduces the value of cyberactors to zero. It is impossible to bail out an "Oscar" or a "Golden Globe" award for a digital double or a separate cyber model that is used in the film instead of the actors.
