KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) has been operating an integral effect test facility, the Advanced Thermal-Hydraulic Test Loop for Accident Simulation (ATLAS), for transient and accident simulations of advanced pressurized water reactors (PWRs). Using ATLAS, a high-quality integral effect test database has been established for major design basis accidents of the APR1400 plant. A Domestic Standard Problem (DSP) exercise using the ATLAS database was promoted to transfer the database to domestic nuclear industries and contribute to improving a safety analysis methodology for PWRs. This $2^{nd}$ ATLAS DSP (DSP-02) exercise aims at an effective utilization of an integral effect database obtained from ATLAS, the establishment of a cooperation framework among the domestic nuclear industry, a better understanding of the thermal hydraulic phenomena, and an investigation into the possible limitation of the existing best-estimate safety analysis codes. A small break loss of coolant accident with a 6-inch break at the cold leg was determined as a target scenario by considering its technical importance and by incorporating interests from participants. This DSP exercise was performed in an open calculation environment where the integral effect test data was open to participants prior to the code calculations. This paper includes major information of the DSP-02 exercise as well as comparison results between the calculations and the experimental data.
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting perceived safety climate and the level of incident reporting attitude, incident reporting knowledge and safety climate. The data were collected by structured questionnaires from 240 nurses and were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression. The level of incident reporting attitude and incident reporting knowledge was 3.34 and 3.05. The level of safety climate was 3.25. Incident reporting knowledge and safety climate have a significant positive association with incident reporting attitude(r=.33, p<.001; r=.38, p<.001). Incident reporting knowledge was positively associated with safety climate(r=.32, p<.001). Factors influencing safety climate were incident reporting knowledge, belief in improvement and reporting intention which explained 24.7% of the variance(F=12.22, p<.001). The findings indicate that to improve incident reporting knowledge with positive attitude and safety climate should be considered as patient safety strategy and should endeavour to develop interventions for safety.

A FAC (flow-accelerated corrosion) test was performed for a straight pipe composed of the SA335 Gr P22 and SA106 Gr B (SA106-SA335-SA106) types of steel with welds as a function of the flow rate in the range of 7-12 m/s at 150 ℃ and with DO < 5 ppb at pH levels ranging from 7 to 9.5 up to a cumulative test time of 7200 h using the FAC demonstration test facility. Afterward, the experimental pipe was examined destructively to investigate opposite effects as well as entrance effects. In addition, the FAC rate obtained using a pipe specimen with a 50 mm inner diameter was compared with the rate obtained from a rotating cylindrical electrode. The effects of the complicated fluid flows at the elbow and orifice of the pipeline were also evaluated using another test section designed to examine the independent effects of the orifice and the elbow depending on the distance and the combined effects on orifice and elbow. The tests were performed under the following conditions: 130-150 ℃, DO < 5 ppb, pH 7 and a flow rate of 3 m/s. The FAC rate was determined using the thickness change obtained from commercial room-temperature ultrasonic testing (UT).

This study was a descriptive research conducted to confirm the mediating effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between caregivers' patient safety knowledge and patient safety management activities. Subjects were 197 caregiver's and data collection was conducted from July 1 to 29, 2022. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson correlation coefficients and Hierarchical multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 28.0 program. There was a significant positive correlation between caregivers' patient safety knowledge and self-efficacy(r=.653, p<.001), and patient safety knowledge and patient safety management activities(r=.467, p<.001). In addition, the complete mediating effect of self-efficacy was confirmed in the relationship between caregivers' patient safety knowledge and patient safety management activities, and the explanatory power was 46.8%. Therefore, strengthen the patient safety management activities of caregiver's, systematic program development and educational opportunities should be provided to improve self-efficacy.

An offshore plant is vulnerable to fire because of the isolated environment. In particular, the damage to an offshore plant is increased when a hydrant reducing valve, which is a main piece of equipment in an offshore plant, is damaged in a fire. In this study, we conducted a fire safety test for a hydrant reducing valve and proved the validity of our analysis by comparing the results of the test and analysis. Therefore, we here suggest an analysis method for a fire safety test. FSI(fluid structure interaction) was considered in the fire safety test. The reliability of the analysis method was verified by comparing the temperature distributions of the test and analysis. In addition, we verified the problems that were caused in the fire safety test by conducting a structure analysis. At a result, the main problem was found to be deformation of the valve seat.
In this study, natural extract including Phellodendro namurense, Eucommia ulmides Oliv and Prunus padus were tested for antimicrobial activity and safety. Antimicrobial activity was measured by using opportunistic microbes such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. As safety test, cell viability test, single dose oral toxicity test, single dose inhalation toxicity test, repeat dose inhalation toxicity test and eye irritation test were done. From antimicrobial test, natural extract showed execellent antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, Escherichia coli. From 5 kinds of safety tests, toxicity was not observed. From experimental results, natural extract including Phellodendro namurense, Eucommia ulmides Oliv and Prunus padus showed superb safety and antimicrobial effect.
In this study, small punch test and tensile test were performed with specimens directly machined from an ASTM A53 grade B carbon steel pipe at which an explosion accident was occurred in the Heavy Oil Unit. Main damage mechanism of the pipe was known as a high temperature hydrogen attack(HTHA). Effects of HTHA on the mechanical strength change of the A53B steel were studied in detail. Small punch test results have showed that maximum reaction forces, SP energy and ductility were decreased at hydrogen attacked part of the pipe compared with sound part of the pipe. Yield strength and tensile ultimate strength were calculated with the obtained small punch test curve results using different methods and compared the estimation methods. Small punch test simulation has been also performed with the finite element method and then mechanical strength, equivalent strain and fracture toughness were calculated with the obtained numerical analysis results. It was shown that the fracture toughness data calculated from small punch equivalent energy obtained by the finite element analysis for SP test was very low at the hydrogen attacked part.

It is impossible to database(DB) the patterns of cable events and cause analysis of faulted cable because the product liability(PL) law have been enforced in Korea, since 2002. In additions, simulation and pattern of cable events are needed for DB system under accelerated deterioration. In this paper, we tested for resistance to nicking of cable below the 22.9kV class due to thermal stresses. This method of exam is following IEC 60811-3-1(Common test methods for insulating and sheathing materials of electric cables). First of all, set the cable in the thermal stress instrument, temperature changed from -20 degree to 120 degree. After thermal stress, we observed a surface crack of cable through microscope and carried out AC withstand voltage test.
