Analyzing Construction Safety Planning Tasks for Performance Improvement (건축공사 안전관리자 계획업무의 중요도 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The main purpose of the study is to reduce the accident death rate in the construction industry. To achieve this goal, the safety planning tasks were analyzed and assessed in terms of the importance and preventive effects of the tasks. Through the extensive literature reviews, the safety planning tasks were identified and reviewed by safety managers. Based on the data collected, a survey was conducted in order to receive responses by experts with knowledge on the effects and importance of preventive measures for safety. Then, the IPA method was employed to identify the safety manager's tasks that have an effect on performance indicators. The effective safety tasks identified are expected to have a critical role in reducing the accident death rate in the construction industry.

  • The main purpose of the study is to reduce the accident death rate in the construction industry. Through the extensive literature reviews, the safety planning tasks were identified and reviewed by safety managers. based on the safety planning tasks developed in the previous stage, a survey was conducted in order to receive responses by experts with knowledge on the effects and importance of preventive measures for safety. Then, the Importance Performance Analysis(IPA) method was employed to identify the safety manager's tasks that have an effect on performance indicators. Advice and guidance on making the employment rules, etc. (#18) and details about participation and consultation at the Occupational Safety and Health Committee (#16) were found to require revision and improvement of details and guidelines. The effective safety tasks identified are expected to have a critical role in reducing the accident death rate in the construction industry.

  • The construction industry remains serious accidents, injuries, and fatalities due to it's unique, dynamic, and temporary nature. On workplace sites, Safety pre-task planning is one of the efforts to minimize injuries and help construction personnel to identify potential hazards. However, the working conditions are complicated. Many activities, including tasks or job steps, are executing at the same time and place. It may lead to an increase in the risks from simultaneous tasks. This paper contributes to addressing this issue by introducing a safety risk interaction analyzing framework. To accomplish this objective, accident reports of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigated. The pairs of task incompatibility, which have time-space conflicts and lead to incidents, are found. Ontology technology is applied to build the risk database, in which the information is acquired, structuralized. The proposed system is expected to improve pre-task planning efficiency and relieve the burdens encountered by safety managers. A user scenario is also discussed to demonstrate how the ontology supports pre-task planning in practice.

  • The main purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the cost estimates on the construction work in residential apartment housing facilities. The planning work of facility construction is roughly divided into five main tasks which are further broken down into the following: process plan (P1-P6), construction plan (C1-C5), environmental management plan (E1-E4), quality management plan (Q1-Q5) and the safety management plan (S1-S5). In this study these tasks were classified into 25 detailed planning duties and a statistical analysis was performed on each one to determine its impact on cost. Finally this study derives from major planning tasks for effective cost management through correlation between planning tasks, cost indicators and t-test.

  • As recent safety accidents at construction sites can lead to serious accidents that threaten the lives of workers, the role of safety managers in charge of safety management has emerged. However, the current construction safety management system requires the improvement and simplification of the work contents due to the excessive workload and inefficient safety tasks of each person. In this respect, the main purpose of this study is to reduce the occurrence of construction safety accidents by deriving correlations using 2×2 Matrix analysis techniques through expert opinion, simplifying unnecessary tasks and identifying areas requiring improvement. Therefore, if this research reduces inefficient safety manager work and reduces job stress caused by excessive simple document work, thereby efficiently reorganizing safety manager's work to prevent blind spots of hazards and risks, it will ultimately have a great effect on preventing safety accidents at construction sites.

  • The main purpose of this study is to analyze the importance of the construction work of apartment buildings. The construction work operation was divided into five major tasks, which include: Schedule Control (P'1 - P5) Construction Management (C'1 - C'5), Environmental Management (E'1 - E'3), and Quality Management. Finally, this study derived major construction execution tasks through correlation between construction work and the original index and t-test.

  • The purpose of this study was to define the job description for food safety specialist, and to describe the duties and tasks of the job based on the detailed analysis of specific food safety work performed by dietitians. The job analysis was 8 professional panels and a Developing A Curriculum(DACUM) facilitator. The research was done in order to fully define the task element, process, and sequence of a food specialist and was completed by DACUM analysis. The job definition of food safety specialist is one who manages food safety through analysis, safety evaluation, inspection, and hazard blocking in all processes related to the purchase, distribution, storage, manufacture, and marketing of foods and food materials. The job description on the DACUM research chart for food safety specialist contained 7 duties and 79 tasks. Its duties were defined as the specific and independent work of a food safety specialist, and were composed of 7 duties, i.e. hazard analysis of foods and related affairs, safety evaluation of purchased food materials, safety management of food/food materials distribution/storage, safety management of food manufacture, safety examination of food marketing, administration affairs on food safety, and self-development. For the future, this study suggests a curriculum, that shall be basis of program planning and food safety operation for subjects within many schools.

  • To verify the suitability of the Railroad safety requirements analysis, the actions of the function which it follows in a given operation condition are composed of the rule model or the state model. And it test must be possible. The subject of condition transfer in compliance with the transfer condition which is an event of system it will be able to accomplish the operation of system. However, tasks allocated to the actor are the duty which is added in organization. This time, the start of duty task is started in compliance with an external or internal condition. If there are 9 tasks which have one objective, the relationship among the previous and the current internal tasks and next tasks which will given is able to show in logical model. Thus when planning an organization, the integral part of class must include Task, Role and Position. And this time we make a series of outputs of examination of organizing model and examples to meet the capable skill.

The Task and Role of the Quality Improvement Facilitator (QI전담자의 주요 업무 및 역할 규명)

  • Objectives: To outline overall duties of quality improvement (QI) performers within a health care organization, thus describing their key tasks, including task element-related frequency, importance and difficulty in enough detail. Methods: A DACUM (Developing A CurriculUM) workshop took place to outline overall job activities of QI performers. To examine the scope of their duty and task, we performed a questionnaire survey of 338 QI performers from 111 hospitals. Results: The results of our survey showed that for the task assigned to each QI performer, there were 10 duties, 31 tasks and 119 task elements. Respondents cited a project planning as the most frequent/important duty, and a research was the highest level of difficulty in their duty. They also said that the most frequent task was index management, the most important task was a business plan, and the highest level of difficulty was a practical application of QI research. QI performers added that the most frequent task element was receipt of patient safety reporting in patient safety system, the most important task element was an analysis for patient safety and its improvement, and the highest level of difficulty was a regional influence analysis related to the patient safety and its improvement. Conclusion: To ensure that QI performers play a pivotal role as a manager to better improve patient safety and the quality of health care services, proper training program for them should be developed by reflecting the results of our study.
