  • The existing of developed scour Equation have a very different value by boundary condition, hydraulic condition and bed condition. Therefore it may give rise to a serious trouble if it make a wrong application of the scour Equation. So this research of purpose is the predicting of scour depths, the method is that analysis river of feature and hydrauric feature for river in kangwondo young-seo region. And hydrauric model experiment of Scour phenomenon execute after the existing of calculate scour depths equation analysis sensitivity, assort a practical.

  • Generally, the accuracy of the prediction of flood elevation is difficult to identify due to the sedimentation on a river bed, earth and sand being moved by flow, and localized torrential downpours caused by climate change. It is also because of natural and artificial influences on rivers. To predict river floodings successfully, more precise and reliable flood elevation prediction system is needed, in which the concentration time of downstream is numerically interpreted through analyzing and utilizing the watermark of the upper region. Therefore, this research analyzed the prediction methods of the changes in water levels, which use the watermarks of the upper region. The watermarks which impacts the spot being predicted of flood was selected through floodgate analysis and correlation analysis. With the selected watermarks, a statistically reliable regression equation was yielded.

  • The flow in meandering channel has a great influence on curved bank revetment in river morphology. It is difficult to state generalized cirteria for channel improvement applicable to any paricular river. But it is very important to provide some principles and guidelines for design engineers. The objective of this experimental study in fixed bed model is to povide effective data that find out maximum velocity size by the mean velocity and the radius of curvature in curved channel, for the purpose of improving small stream without hydraulic modeling test each time.

  • Recently, existing river improvement methods for flood control purpose have changed into nature friendly river improvement methods and the efforts to improve the river environment including river restoration have been made, and close-to-nature river improvement and nature friendly river restoration are actively conducted all over the country. In the present situation where various revetment methods are used after the introduction of the concept of close-to-nature river improvement, the environmental characteristics of rivers need to be considered to apply more suitable revetment methods. Therefore, as a precedent study for the development of revetment evaluation techniques and methods for close-to-nature river improvement, the present study suggested evaluation techniques using detailed survey items through field survey. Evaluation items of hydraulic stability consist of mode of streamline, stream bed gradient, flow velocity and tractive force ratio and those of environmental efficiency consist of revetment of vegetation, state of river water, land use of the terrace land on the river, vegetation and materials of the terrace land on the river. Each item was graded with the point 1 through 5. Hydraulic stability and environmental efficiency was evaluated by the points which were averaged in each items. As the result of the application of the proposed evaluation technique, it was found that a number of existing revetments excessively focus on hydraulic stability with little consideration about environmental term. It is expected that the proposed technique in the present study can be used as a base for providing guidelines to construct the design and construction of revetments in the future.

  • Causes of the levee collapse are directly or indirectly associated with geotechnical engineering as well as hydraulics. In this paper, literature survey and analysis were conducted to present the alternatives in geotechnical engineering issues for rational levee design. The alternatives include the reasonable river-bed soil utilization and precautions of numerical analysis and slope stability analysis, disruption type and improvement method of drainage facility.

  • This research is about the inspection system which is for maintenance of laterals of local RBF(River bed Filtration). Inspection system is designed for local use in order to endure water resistance up to 50m and it also can examine the internal condition and colgging of laterals by moving inside of the laterals about 100m back and forward. We will conduct performance test of inspection system at the lacal RBF site and present its result.

  • The Bullock Creek Caves are located adjacent to the usually dry river bed of Bullock Creek, which reaches the sea about a kilometer north of Punakaiki. The caves have been comprehensively written up by Rodgers(l972). Under conditions of normal water flow Bullock Creek submerges where the stream meets limestone on the west side of thier Punakaiki syncline. In flood conditions it overflows the first submergence and progressively floods a series of smaller submergences down valley until it comes to the caves shown on the map. All these with the exception of Wazpretti Cave and Dry Valley Cave are probably more or less flooded during and after heavy rain.(omitted)
