  • In this study, we propose a new method to control both the beat clarity and beat period in a ring structure. An equivalent ring which satisfies the measured mode condition is determined by using the equivalent ring theory. Theoretical analysis and finite element analysis on the equivalent ring are performed to investigate the effect of the local structural modification on the beat clarity and beat period. Beat clarity and period are improved by attaching asymmetric mass or decreasing local thickness. Through the analysis on the equivalent ring, the proper position and the amount of the local variation are determined to satisfy the required clarity and period condition. All the analysis results are compared and verified by the experiment.

  • This article continues the study of right 𝜋-duo rings, concentrating on the situation of nonzero powers. For this purpose we introduce the concept of strongly right 𝜋-duo and examine the structure of strongly right 𝜋-duo in relation to various ring properties that play important roles in ring theory. It is proved for a strongly right 𝜋-duo ring R that if the upper (lower) nilradical of R is zero then R is reduced. Various kinds of examples are examined in relation to the questions raised in the procedure.

  • This paper depicts the diagram of cylindrical shells as an essential idea. It centers around an outline of exploration and use of cylindrical shell in expansive current circumstance. In view of investigation of the current and prospect of model as a piece of present exploration work, a straightforward contextual analysis is examined with Love's shell theory based on Galerkin's method. The cylindrical shells are attached from one end of the cylindrical shells. The frequencies of ring support shells are investigated against the half axial wave mode. The frequencies increase on increasing the half axial wave mode. Also, the frequencies are downsized with ring supports. The software MATLAB is preferred to others because in this software computing coding is very easy to do. Just single command 'eig' furnishes shell frequencies and mode shapes by calculating eigenvalues and eigenvectors respectively. The shell vibration frequencies for cylindrical shells are compared with those results found in the open literature.

  • The concrete containment structures have been widely used in nuclear power plants, LNG storage tanks, etc., due to their high safety and economic efficiency. The containment structure consists of a bottom slab, wall, ring beam and dome. The shape of the roof dome has a very significant effect on structural safety, the quantity of materials, and constructability; the thickness and curvature of the dome should therefore be determined to give the optimum design. The ring beam plays the role as supports for the dome, resulting in a minimized deformation of the wall. The main issues in designing the ring beam are the correct dimensions of the section and the prestress level. In this study, an efficient design procedure is proposed that can be used to determine an optimal shape and prestress level of the dome and ring beam. In the preliminary design stage of the procedure, the membrane theory of shells of revolution is adopted to determine several plausible alternatives which can be obtained even by hand calculation. Based on the proposed procedures, domes and ring beams of the existing domestic containment structures are analyzed and some improvements are discussed.

  • By means of coloring of plane nets a number of different tetrahedral frameworks can be derived. With the aid of this method all tetrahedral framework structures which built up of layer structures with 2, 4, 8 tetrahedra per unit cell and 6-membered ring or 4-8-membered ring are given. For the systematic derivation of all possible structures, graph theory may be introduced.

  • In recent years M. Hochster and C. Huneke introduced the notions of tight closure of an ideal and of the weak F-regularity of a ring of positive prime characteristic. Here 'F' stands for Frobenius. This notion enabled us to play an important role in a commutative ring theory, and other related topics.

  • This article concerns the class of rings which satisfy the property of inserting regular elements at zero products, and rings with such property are called regular-IFP. We study the structure of regular-IFP rings in relation to various ring properties that play roles in noncommutative ring theory. We investigate conditions under which the regular-IFPness pass to polynomial rings, and equivalent conditions to the regular-IFPness.

  • In this study, we propose an effective method to improve the clarity and period of the beat in a ring structure. Ring is an simplified model of a Korean bell, in which beating vibration and sound are very important features. An equivalent ring theory is applied and finite element analysis on the equivalent ring is performed to determine the condition of the asymmetric element for the clear and proper period beat. The clarity and the period of the beat are improved by attacking asymmetric mass and decreasing local thickness. Using the equivalent ring, the amount and position of the local variation for the required beat condition are determined and the results are verified by experiment.
