This paper deals with 3D simulation of industrial robot for automated manufacturing system. In order to evaluate the operational characteristics of the industrial robot system in the worst case motion scenario, flexible - rigid multibody analysis was performed. Then, the rigid body dynamics analysis was performed and the results were compared with the flexible - rigid multibody analysis. Modal analysis was also performed to confirm the dynamic characteristics of the robot system. In the case of the flexible-rigid multibody simulation, only the structural members of interest were modeled as elastic bodies to confirm the stress state. The remaining structural members were modeled as rigid bodies to reduce computer resources.
A linear compressor used in a refrigerator has higher energy efficiency than other compressors. On the other hand, its vibration level has still been much severe. Changing the characteristics of connecting parts may reduce the vibration level of linear compressor. The piston, body and shell are assumed to be rigid. These rigid bodies are connected by coil springs and flexible loop pipe. This paper derived the mathematical model by combining the equation of motion of rigid parts and flexible parts. The variation of vibration level according to the change of connecting parts was investigated.
In this paper, we propose the method Model based Non-Rigid Moving Object Tracking. Motion based method becomes difficult to predict precisely when motion gets larger, so that we can solve such difficultly with regarding the moving object as a model. In the model based method, it should be concerned about setting initial model and updating its model in each frame. We used SNAKE in a way to set the initial model, and also proposed a modified SNAKE to handle the previous SNAKE problems. Moreover, with the elliptical setting, we made the initializing process automatically which is highly subject to change in measuring the performance of SNAKE. We used the Hausdorff distance to identify models in each frame. Through our experiments, our Proposed algorithm does effective work in Non-Rigid Moving Object Tracking.
A new concept sea-floating port called mobile harbor has been introduced, in order to resolve the limitation of current above-ground port facilities against the continuous growth of worldwide marine transportation. One of important subjects in the design of a mobile harbor is to secure the dynamic stability against wave-induced excitation, because a relatively large-scale heavy crane system installed at the top of mobile harbor should load/unload containers at sea under the sea state up to level 3. In this context, this paper addresses a two-step sequential analytical-numerical method for analyzing the structural dynamic response of the mobile harbor crane system to the wave-induced rolling excitation. The rigid ship motion of mobile harbor by wave is analytically solved, and the flexible dynamic response of the crane system by the rigid ship motion is analyzed by the finite element method. The hydrodynamic effect between sea water and mobile harbor is reflected by means of the added moment of inertia.
This paper presents the dimensional synthesis and kinematic analysis of the RSCS-SSP motion generating spatial mechanism using the displacement matrix method. This type of spatial mechani는 is used for the Mcpherson suspension in small automobiles. It is modeled for the wheel bump/rebound and steering motion. First, the suspension is modeled as a multiloop spatial rigid body guidance mechanism for the two major motions. Then the design equations for SSP, RS, and SC strut links are applied to synthesize an RSCS-SSP for up to three prescribed positions for the steering motiom from the suspension design specification. Thus a RSCS-SSP mechanism which is synthesized is also analyzed for the displacement during the steering motion.
In our paper, we propose an asymmetric single-tracked wheel system, and describe its structure and the method for maintaining the length of a transformable track system. And the method is reducing the gap of lengths. Therefore, we propose an efficient structure for transforming and explain motions with kinematics. Our transformable shape single-tracked mobile system has an advantage to overcome an obstacle or stairs by the variable arms in the single unity track system. But we will make the variable shape of tracked system get a drive that has a force to stand against a wall. In this case, we can consider this system to a rigid body and have a notice that this single tracked system is able to get vary shape with the variable arm angle. Considering forces balance along x-axis and y-axis, and moments balance around the center of the mass we have. If this rigid body is standing against a wall and doesn't put in motion, the force of flat ground and the rigid body sets an equal by a friction. In the same way, the force of a wall and the rigid sets an equal by a friction.
The optimal design parameters of a dynamic absorber (DA) in a machine body (that is considered as a rigid body) are discussed in this paper. The bounce and rotation motions of the rigid body have been controlled passively by a DA, which consists of a mass and a spring. The rigid body is subjected to a harmonically excited force and supported by linear springs at both ends. To define the motion of a rigid body with a DA, the equation of motion was expressed in the third-order matrix form. To define the optimal design conditions of a DA, the reduction of dynamic characteristics, represented by the amplitudes of bounce and rotation, and the transmitted powers, were evaluated and discussed. The level of reduction was found to be highly dependent on the location and spring stiffness of the DA.

In this paper, the problem of partial asymptotic stabilization of nonlinear control cascaded systems with integrators is considered. Unfortunately, many controllable control systems present an anomaly, which is the non complete stabilization via continuous pure-state feedback. This is due to Brockett necessary condition. In order to cope with this difficulty we propose in this work the partial asymptotic stabilization. For a given motion of a dynamical system, say x(t,$x_0,t_0$)=(y(t,$y_0,t_0$),z(t,$z_0,t_0$)), the partial stabilization is the qualitative behavior of the y-component of the motion(i.e., the asymptotic stabilization of the motion with respect to y) and the z-component converges, relative to the initial vector x($t_0$)=$x_0$=($y_0,z_0$). In this work we present new results for the adding integrators for partial asymptotic stabilization. Two applications are given to illustrate our theoretical result. The first problem treated is the partial attitude control of the rigid spacecraft with two controls. The second problem treated is the partial orientation of the underactuated ship.
An active contour model, Snake, was developed as a useful segmenting and tracking tool lot rigid or non-rigid (i.e. deformable) objects by Kass in 1987 In this research, Snake is newly designed to cover this large moving case. Image flow energy is proposed to give Snake the motion information of the target object. By this image flow energy Snake's nodes can move uniformly along the direction of the target motion in spite of the existences of local minima. Furthermore, when the motion is too large to apply image flow energy to tracking, a jump mode is proposed for solving the problem. The vector used to make Snake's nodes jump to the new location can be obtained by processing the image flow. The effectiveness of the proposed Snake is confirmed by some simulations.
The method of manipulation by striking a part and letting it slide until it comes to rest, has been very little studied. However, the manipulation method is not uncommon in our daily lives. We analyze the dynamic behavior of a rigid polygonal part being striked and sliding on a horizontal surface under the action of fiction. There are two parts in this problem; one is the impact problem, and the other is the sliding problem. We characterize the impact and sliding dynamics with friction for polygonal parts, and present the possibility of reverse calculation for motion planning of striking operations. Using a high speed video camera, the computer simulation results are experimentally verified.
