The web as global network includes text document, video, sound, etc and connects each distributed information using link Through development of web, it accumulates abundant information and the main is text based documents. Most of user use the web to retrieve information what they want. So, numerous researches have progressed to retrieve the text documents using the many methods, such as probability, statistics, vector similarity, Bayesian, and so on. These researches however, could not consider both the subject and the semantics of documents. As a result user have to find by their hand again. Especially, it is more hard to find the korean document because the researches of korean document classification is insufficient. So, to overcome the previous problems, we propose the korean document classification method for semantic retrieval. This method firstly, extracts TF value and RV value of concepts that is included in document, and maps into U-WIN that is korean vocabulary dictionary to select the topic of document. This method is possible to classify the document semantically and showed the efficiency through experiment.
For knowing the effects of aging on conversational skills in daily communication, this paper studied for the conversational turn-taking skills, working memory and naming ability on healthy elderly adults over 65 ages. 85 elderly adults participated in this study, which divided into four groups by ages. Speech samples were collected in natural conversation. Memorization of numbers, mental calculation, repetition of words were administered for working memory test. K-BNT was used for the naming ability. One-way ANOVA analysis was used for the comparison of conversational turn-taking skills among four groups. We analyzed the correlation between conversational skills, working memory and naming ability. The results were as follows: first, there were a significant difference in conversational turn-taking skills by age, but not by gender. There was a significant difference in 'Turn-Taking Frequency' and 'Total Utterance Frequency' among four groups. The same results were shown in the scores of females within three groups(exclude groups over 85D)(p<.01). Second, there was a significant correlation between 'rates of maintenance' and 'naming ability'. In addition, it was found that the naming test predicted 'rates of maintenance' skills. The results of this study suggest that word-retrieval ability will be helpful to enhance functional communication skills in aging old adults.
This research utilized the Grounded Theory and Giorgi's phenomenological research method to analyze the experience of battered women who are maintaining a non-violent marriage relationship. Due to the low accessibility of subjects and the distinctiveness of the topic, I have selected 4 participants and conducted in-depth interviews. As for data analysis results, there were 5 superior component elements and 19 inferior component elements for the experience of maintaining a non-violent marriage relationship and these appeared according to time. Thus, it can be analyzed as follows: 'the vicious cycle stage of violence: caught in a trap,' 'stage of breakaway from vicious violence cycle: making the self-rescue measures,' 'entry to a new track: retrieval of autonomy,' 'stage of forming a non-violence track: preventing the recurrence of the violence,' 'stage of maintaining non-violent track: conversion to non-violent relationship.' This research result will be useful in seeking an effective social welfare intervention plan for successful non-violent relationship in order to help 50% of the battered women from family violence who wish to maintain marriage.
Fifty substances of pesticide were selected for analysis through the historical investigation of pesticides detected from environmental-friendly agricultural soil, and the environmental-friendly agricultural soils in Gyeongnam area were collected and then were accepted Anve (accelerated solvent extraction) and SPve (solid-phase extraction) as multiresidue extraction and clean up methods suitable to the soils. The pesticide residues were analyzed by using GC/vCD/NPD, HPLC/UV/FL, GC/MSD, or HPLC/MSD. 50 kinds of pesticides for the soils were an average of 95.5% from retrieval ratio of the 72 to 118% range, and the average of 3.0% for CV (%). Among 40 samples of soil, 20 components were detected from pesticide residues of 21 samples, and average amounts detected for these components were 0.035 for endosulfan, 0.043 for ethoprophos, 0.020 for chlorpyrifos, 0.023 for chlorfenapyr, 0.047 for flufenoxuron, 0.070 for fenvalerate, 0.266 for cypermethrin, 0.016 for lufenuron, 0.022 for bifenthrin, 0.025 for fenobucarb/BPMC, 0.043 for difenoconazole, 0.059 for fenarimol, 0.020 for kresoxim-methyl, 0.026 for tetraconazole, 0.039 for isoprothiolane, 0.017 for iprobenfos, 0.014 for nolrimol, 0.156 for fluquinconazole, 0.047 for tebuconazole, and 0.045 mg/kg for oxadiazon. Therefore it is infered that the establishment of pesticide residues limit for environmental-friendly agricultural soil is needed as soon as possible.
An algorithm was developed to retrieve both cloud optical thickness and effective particle radius considered the aerosol effect on clouds. This study apply the algorithm of Nakajima and Nakajima (1995) that is used to retrieve cloud optical thickness and effective particle radius from visible, near infrared satellite spectral measurements. To retrieve cloud properties, Look-up table (LUT) was made under different atmospheric conditions by using a radiative transfer model. Especially the vertical distribution of aerosol is based on a tropospheric aerosol profile in radiative transfer model. In the case study, we selected the extensive forest fire occurred in Russia in May 2003. The aerosol released from this fire may be transported to Korea. Cloud properties obtained from these distinct atmospheric situations are analysed in terms of their possible changes due to the interactions of the clouds with the aerosol particle plumes. Cloud properties over the East sea at this time was retrieved using new algorithm. The algorithm is applied to measurements from the MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS) onboard the Terra spacecrafts. As a result, cloud effective particle radius was decreased and cloud optical thickness was increased during aerosol event. Specially, cloud effective particle radius is hardly greater than $20{\mu}m$ when aerosol particles were present over the East Sea. Clouds developing in the aerosol event tend to have more numerous but smaller droplets.

This study has investigated the suitable wavelength for detecting biomass burning aerosols. We have performed the analysis of the wavelength at 380nm in near-UV, 400nm, 412nm, 460nm, and 490nm in visible, and 2100nm in shortwave infrared regions from the Global Imager measurements. It is well known that the UV bands have the advantage of the aerosols retrieval due to the low surface reflectance and a weak effect of Bidirectional Reflectivity Distribution Function. However, the pure surface reflectances of shortwave visible bands, except 412nm, are as low as that of 380nm in near-UV over northeast Asia. In order to detect the aerosol signal, we have retrieved the aerosol reflectance as a function of wavelength based on the surface reflectivity contrast method for the period of May 2003. It is interesting that the retrieved aerosol reflectance with 460nm is slightly more sensitive than that with 380nm. Additionally, we have applied the TOMS aerosol index method to determine the best pair for biomass burning aerosols and found that the pair of 380 and 460nm results in the best signal for retrieving aerosols.
This research presents the effect of Asian dust on the derived sea surface temperature (SST) from measurements of the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) instrument flown onboard NOAA polar orbiting satellites. To analyze the effect, A VHRR infrared brightness temperature (TB) is estimated from simulated radiance calculated from radiative transfer model on various atmospheric conditions. Vertical profiles of temperature, pressure, and humidity from radiosonde observation are used to build up the East Asian atmospheric conditions in spring. Aerosol optical thickness (AOT) and size distribution are derived from skyradiation measurements to be used as inputs to the radiative transfer model. The simulation results show that single channel TB at window region is depressed under the Asian dust condition. The magnitude of depression is about 2K at nadir under moderate aerosol loading, but the magnitude reaches up to 4K at slant path. The dual channel difference (DCD) in spilt window region is also reduced under the Asian dust condition, but the reduction of DCD is much smaller than that shown in single channel TB simulation. Owing to the depression of TB, SST has cold bias. In addition, the effect of AOT on SST is amplified at large satellite zenith angle (SZA), resulting in high variance in derived SSTs. The SST depression due to the presence of Asian dust can be expressed as a linear function of AOT and SZA. On the basis of this relationship, the effect of Asian dust on the SST retrieval from the conventional daytime multi-channel SST algorithm can be derived as a function of AOT and SZA.
The radiation at $11{\mu}m$ absorbed more than at $12{\mu}m$ when aerosols is loaded in the atmosphere, whereas it will be the other way around when cloud is present. The difference of the two channels provides an opportunity to detect aerosols such as Yellow Sand even with the presence of clouds and at night. However problems associated with this approach arise because the difference can be affected by various atmospheric and surface conditions. In this paper, we has analyzed how the threshold and sensitivity of the brightness temperature difference between two channel (BTD) vary with respect to the conditions in detail. The important finding is that the threshold value for the BTD distinguishing between aerosols and cloud is $0.8^{\circ}K$ with the US standard atmosphere, which is greater than the typical value of $0^{\circ}K$. The threshold and sensitivity studies for the BTD show that solar zenith angle, aerosols altitude, surface reflectivity, and atmospheric temperature profile marginally affect the BTD. However, satellite zenith angle, surface temperature along with emissivity, and vertical profile of water vapor are strongly influencing on the BTD, which is as much as of about 50%. These results strongly suggest that the aerosol retrieval with the BTD method must be cautious and the outcomes must be carefully calibrated with respect to the sources of the error.
National research and development(R&D) information is information generated in the process of performing R&D based on programs and projects issued by national government departments, and includes information from various research fields as ordered by various departments. Therefore, for efficient R&D information retrieval, it is necessary to build a national R&D terminology dictionary that can reflect the characteristics of such national R&D information. In this study, we propose a method for constructing a national R&D terminology dictionary by applying the classification of science and technology standards used to specify the research field in national R&D information. We will discuss the structural characteristics of national R&D project information and the usefulness of the project keyword, and explain the status of national R&D information by the National Standard Science and Technology Classification(NSSTC) Codes and the characteristics of the national R&D terminologies. Based on this, a method for building a national R&D terminology dictionary is defined in terms of the type and structure of the terminology dictionary, preliminary construction procedures, and refining rules. The national R&D terminology dictionary built on the basis of this study can be used in various ways such as expansion of search terms using Korean-English equivalent words and synonyms when searching national R&D information, clarifying the scope of search using NSSTC, and providing user convenience functions using term explanation information.
Global warming and rapid climate change have long affected the characteristics of typhoons in the Northwest Pacific, which has induced increasing devastating disasters along the coastal regions of the Korean peninsula. Synthetic Aperature Radar (SAR), as one of the microwave sensors, makes it possible to produce high-resolution sea surface wind field around the typhoon under cloudy atmospheric conditions, which has been impossible to obtain the winds from satellite optical and infrared sensors. The Geophysical Model Functions (GMFs) for sea surface wind retrieval from SAR data requires the input of wind direction, which should be based on the accurate estimation of the center of the typhoon. This study estimated the typhoon centers using Sentinel-1A images to improve the problem of typhoon center detection method and to reflect it in retrieving the sea surface wind. The results were validated by comparing with the typhoon best track data provided by the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) and Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), and also by using infrared images of Himawari-8 satellite. The initial center position of the typhoon was determined by using VH polarization, thereby reducing the possibility of error. The detected center showed a difference of 23.76 km on average with the best track data of the four typhoons provided by the KMA and JMA. Compared to the typhoon center estimated by Himawari-8 satellite, the results showed an average spatial variation of 11.80 km except one typhoon located near land with a large difference of 58.73 km. This result suggests that high-resolution SAR images can be used to estimate the center and retrieve sea surface wind around typhoons.
