A new quasi-resonant do link inverter is suggested, which can operate at the constant peak do link voltage irrespective of the magnitude of load current. The inverter is analyzed by using the topological analogy between the proposed inverter and the resonant DC/DC converter. Based on the analysis, an appropriate current controller is developed, which results in low current stress to the resonant capacitor and also enjoys the inherent capability of the current initialization of resonant inductor. For the purpose of confirming the inverter characteristics, some simulation results are presented.

In this paper, a measuring NDT(nondestructive testing) system using RUS(Resonant Ultrasound Spectroscopy) was built for nondestructive evaluation of the flaw in a ceramic Ferrule. The principle of RUS is that the mechanical resonant frequency of the materials depends on density, and the coefficient of elasticity. The RUS system is the measuring which is to exite specimen and to inspect the difference of natural frequency pattern between acceptable specimen and specimen which has some defects. RUS system is configured of spectrum analyzer, power amplifier, PZT sensor and support frame. For defect evaluation by the RUS, we performed to measure natural frequency of Ferrule, both acceptable and cracked. In the case of Ferrule, the resonant frequency of cracked-Ferrule existed to higher frequency band than acceptable-Ferrule.
The multi-resonant converter minimizes the parasitic oscillations using the resonant tank circuit absorbed parasitic reactances in a converter. So the converter can be operated at a high frequency and it provides a high efficiency because the switching power losses are reduced effectively. However, the high resonant voltage stress of semiconductors leads to the conduction loss. In this paper, it is proposed the novel flyback multi-resonant converter. The converter input is divided by two series input capacitors. And also the resonant stress is reduced to 2-3 times input voltage without any complexity and it provides the various circuit schemes in lots of applications. The proposed converters are verified through simulation and experiment.

The electronic ballast for HID lamps needs high ignition voltage which is consisted of high voltage pulse ignitor. However, In the case of street lamp it is far from a lamp to a ballast, the conventional pulsed high voltage ignitor can not turn on the HID lamps because of reduction of ignition voltage. Therefore, it needs to do the research on a resonant ignition to turn on the HID lamps. However, the resonant circuit which is consisted of LC occurs over current, so the capacity of the ignitor increases. The capacity of the ignitor can be reduced by using the transformer. In this case, the capacitor for resonance is installed to the secondary of the transformer, and the capacitor needs high withstanding voltage. Therefore, it needs to do the research on a resonant ignition to reduce the voltage over the resonant capacitor by dividing the secondary of the transformer.

This study introduces an LCC resonant converter operating on a continuous conduction mode. The LCC resonant converter has the advantage of improving system efficiency, especially under the rated load condition, because it can reduce conduction loss by improving the resonance current shape and switching loss by increasing the lossless snubber capacitance. The proposed LCC resonant converter is applied to various applications, including a 60 kW EV fast charger, a 24 kJ/s high-voltage capacitor charger, and a 20 kV, 20 kW high-precision DC power supply. Experimental results prove that the proposed LCC resonant converter topology can be effectively used as a converter topology for these applications.
This paper analyzes a resonant inverter to generate plasma. The resonant inverter consists of a full bridge converter, resonant network and reactor to generate a magnetic field for plasma generation. A plasma load has very distinct characteristics compared to conventional loads. The characteristics of plasma load are analyzed through experimental results. This paper presents the study on the resonant network, which was performed in order to determine how to achieve a constant current gain. Another important contribution of this study is the analysis of drop-out phenomenon observed in plasma loads which is responsible for unpredictable shutdown of the plasma generator that requires stable operation. In addition, the design process for the resonant network of a plasma generator is proposed. The validity of this study is verified through simulations and experimental results.

In this paper, For achieving the high gain and resonant characteristics in both of the power flow directions, a bidirectional resonant dc-dc converter with auxiliary switches is proposed. Auxiliary switches are connected in the primary and secondary side of the bidirectional resonant dc-dc converter, respectively. A 800W prototype bidirectional resonant dc-dc converter for interfacing the 400V DC buses in the energy storage system is built and tested to verify the validity and applicability of this proposed converter.

This paper proposes a procedure for designing a resonant network for induction cookers that enables the induction heating of magnetic and non-magnetic vessels. In order to design such network, the range of operating frequency must be determined according to the material of the vessels by measuring several parameters, such as equivalent resistance and inductance, which are reflected in the working coil of the vessels. Through this process, the capacitance of the resonant capacitor is determined. The PSIM simulation and experiment results verify the feasibility of the proposed design and the heating performance of the designed resonant network.
Although LLC resonant converters have the advantages of a wide operation range and high efficiency, the lack of an analytical solution for the peak gain makes it difficult to optimize the resonant tank design, when considering not only the normal condition but also the holdup time requirement. In this paper, based on a mathematical analysis of a LLC resonant converter at the peak gain point, an analytical solution for the peak gain has been developed. By using the developed analytical solution, the peak gain with given resonant tank parameters can be obtained. To confirm the validity of the developed analytical solution, simulations and experimental results are compared.
A higher-order power converter topology for an extremely low coupling (less than 0.15) transformer with high efficiency and wide air-gap (23 mm) is presented in this paper. Among the typical resonant converter topologies for contact-less power transferring systems, Series-Series Resonant Converter (SSRC) and Series-Parallel Resonant Converter (SPRC) are widely used in number of power electronic applications. However, when coupling coefficient of a transformer is seriously low (k<0.5), the series-series resonant converter will possibly operate at short circuited condition because of the small magnetizing impedance. To solve this problem, a modified and improved topology of seventh-order resonant converter for contact-less power converter system is proposed and the results are presented.
