This study aimed to analyze the replacement investment of the diesel fuel system with the pallet fuel system in the Korean farming sector. Equivalent annual annuity approach was used to resolve a discrepancy of useful life in capital goods and to facilitate investment analyses in an independent perspective. Data was obtained from previous studies on economic analysis of greenhouse tomato, paprika and cucumber. Results showed that the replacement with the pallet fuel system was acceptable irrespective of the remaining period of useful life for the diesel fuel system. In addition, sensitivity analysis with government support level, repair cost, and light and heat energy cost show ed robustness in the possibility of replacement with the pallet fuel system while the speed of replacement was accelerated with an increase in the amount of diesel fuel used and price of diesel fuel, and a decrease in price of the pallet fuel. The result implied that the replacement investment rather than a new investment was appropriate for existing greenhouse farmers and the pallet fuel system was acceptable to replace existing diesel fuel system in producing greenhouse tomato, paprika and cucumber.

Water distribution networks (WDNs) are designed to satisfy water requirement of an urban community. One of the central issues in human history is providing sufficient quality and quantity of water through WDNs. A WDN consists of a great number of pipelines with different ages, lengths, materials, and sizes in varying degrees of deterioration. The available annual budget for rehabilitation of these infrastructures only covers part of the network; thus it is important to manage the limited budget in the most cost-effective manner. In this study, a novel pipe replacement scheduling approach is proposed in order to smooth the annual investment time series based on a life cycle cost assessment. The proposed approach is applied to a real WDN currently operating in South Korea. The proposed scheduling plan considers both the annual budget limitation and the optimum investment on pipes' useful life. A non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm is used to solve a multi-objective optimization problem. Three decision-making objectives, including the minimum imposed LCC of the network, the minimum standard deviation of annual cost, and the minimum average age of the network, are considered to find optimal pipe replacement planning over long-term time period. The results indicate that the proposed scheduling structure provides efficient and cost-effective rehabilitation management of water network with consistent annual budget.

In order to get equipments or facilities the company evaluates the alternatives on the investment and makes a decision in terms of investment economy. Quite often, however, companies face difficulties in generating investment alternatives and evaluating the alternatives generated. This paper discusses the methods of investment evaluation and shows a case study in which a specific method is applied to a firm.

이 연구는 투자이론에서 활용되고 있는 토빈의 Q 개념을 적용하여 투자이익을 측정하고 이를 통해 서울 주택시장을 이해하고자 한다. 구체적으로 서울시 아파트와 연립·다세대주택을 대상으로 2010년부터 2018년까지 투자이익을 추정하고 공간계량모형을 이용하여 투자이익에 영향을 주는 요인들을 살펴보았다. 투자이익은 실거래가격에서 대체비용(토지비용+건축비용)을 빼는 방식과 실거래가격 대비 대체비용의 비율로 각각 추정하였다. 분석결과를 보면, 투자이익은 2018년으로 갈수록 더 커졌고 강남·서초구 및 한강 주변에서 투자이익이 높게 나타났으나 투자이익의 시공간적 변화양상은 아파트의 경우 뚜렷한 반면에 연립·다세대주택은 산발적·국지적으로 나타났다. 공간계량모형 분석결과는 주택유형과 상관없이 고밀·신축개발이 많은 지역에서 투자이익이 높았다. 이 연구의 접근방법과 결과는 향후 주택 공급 정책, 투자이익 환수, 지역 경쟁력 측정, 가격 거품 측정 등에 대한 논의를 위한 기초 자료가 될 것이다.

Domestic construction companies are suffering from financing difficulties in the wake of the economic slump in Korea and abroad. During this economic slump, real estate investment trusts (REITs), facilitators for improving financing and stimulating construction businesses, have increasingly expanded since their introduction in 2001. However, in terms of growth speed and marketing size, Korean REITs are falling behind those of other nations. The purpose of this study is to suggest a method for composing a portfolio using the Markowitz portfolio selection model to stimulate REITs. The main contents are as follows. First, a comparative analysis was conducted of increased REIT profit with the application of the Markowitz model and the average REIT profit rate from July 3, 2007, to July 21, 2008, during the investment analysis periods. The results showed that the total profit rate from the Markowitz model was about 10% higher than the average REIT profit rate. Second, the sensitivity was analyzed according to the portfolio's data-gathering and replacement cycle to measure the optimum cycle and yield. The six-mouth profit data collection period showed about 16% higher profits with the Markowitz model than with the REITs. The two-week portfolio change period resulted in about 11% higher profits with the Markowitz model than with the REITs.

Korean aviation authority required air service providers to submit public disclosure of aviation safety investment to encourage proactive and voluntary safety investments. In 2023, two airport operators and seventeen airlines disclosed their safety investment results and plans for the first time. This study aims to examine and analyze the current status of the disclosure system, identify insights for its development, and set directions for the future. Safety investments by airport operators decreased by 14.3% in 2022 compared to 2021 due to decreased aviation demand. Airline increased their safety investment by 46% to 4 trillion won, investing heavily in MRO and aircraft replacement, leading to a decrease in the average fleet age by 0.8 years. FSCs have shown a significantly higher level of safety investment compared to LCCs. However, LCCs show higher safety investment relative to revenue. It is necessary to consider the characteristics of each operator as well as the scale when comparing safety investments. A roadmap is suggested based on the importance of disclosure items for the strategic approach and improvement measures for the aviation safety investment disclosure system.

Hence combination & modification of them are required to perform more accurate evaluation about investment project. This paper discuss evaluation method of investment projects expansion and replacement investment on each line or individual in the production. Generally investment evaluation method has add to a few method by Subsidiary means with use a especial method. And then in this paper, a Taguchi Techniques is presented, which may be effective to the facilities appraisal or improvement. We propose a decision model to incorporates the values assigned by a group of experts on different factors in production. Using this model, SN ratio of taguchi method for each of subjective factors as well as values of weights are used in this comprehensive method for reducing production rate in production management.

To meet the soaring demand recently, South Korea big shipbuilders are examining two things. One is new investment in plant and equipment. The other is replacement of production resources. Considering plant & equipment investment and replacement of production resources, even if actual production ability would be enough, the real output could be affected by limitation of logistics with lack of analysis. As we set up big shipyard in virtual space, we could perform actual production by using confirm production plan in virtual space. We've analyzed the load of block stock, load of road and load of transporter for logistics effects are followed by production increase. This research is to determine the possible problems of those analyzed results and to present the resolution using the current layout. And then modified yard layout, we reanalyzed previous three logistics effects. This simulation model could help administrator to make rational decision for changing yard layout.

The addition of disconnect switches to a distribution feeder or the replacement of the manual switches with the automatic switches do, in general, increase reliability by decreasing the duration of the outage of many to the customers on the feeder and reducing the outage section. However, the improvement of reliability in power distribution system causes an increase of the investment cost, for example, replacement costs, labor costs, and so on. For this reason - the balance between investment and reliability improvement - many studies about the appropriate level of investment have been conducted. In this paper, we suggest the algorithm for determining the reasonable switch automation rate in the power distribution system. We evaluate the customer interruption cost and reliability for several cases - these cases relate with the switch automation rate - in the domestic metropolitan power distribution system, estimate the effectiveness of changing the manual switch to automatic switch quantitatively. These results can help the determining on the disconnect switch's automation rate.
