  • We propose a policy for controlling the release of raw wafers into the semiconductor wafer fabrication lines. The proposed policy exploits up-to-date factory floor information gathered by tracking systems used to calculate the time and amount of a new release to minimize mean flow times and mean tardiness while maintaining the maximum output rates of the system. Extensive computer experiments show that the proposed policy results in significant improvements for the same output rates compared to existing release rules.

  • In this paper, we investigate a software release policy with software reliability growth factor during the warranty period by assuming that the software reliability growth is assumed to occur after the testing phase with probability p and the software reliability growth is not assumed to occur after the testing phase with probability 1-p. The optimal release policy to minimize the expected total software cost is discussed. Numerical examples are shown to illustrate the results of the optimal policy. And we consider a Bayesian decision theoretic approach to determine an optimal software release policy. This approach enables us to update our uncertainty when determining optimal software release time, When the failure time is Weibull distribution with uncertain parameters, a bayesian approach is established. Finally, numerical examples are presented for illustrative propose.

  • An important issue for software developers is to determine when to stop testing the software system and release it to users. Generally the release time is specified by the number of detected faults or the testing time needed to meet the reliability requirement. Software reliability directly depends on the number of remaining or corrected faults. All the detected faults are not always corrected under imperfect debugging environment. We therefore need a new approach to software release policy for imperfect debugging. This paper suggests a software release policy, which guarantees that the reliability requirement has been achieved. The suggested policy is then implemented and illustrated for specific SRGMs.

  • In this paper, we generalize the software reliability growth model by assuming that the testing cost and maintenance cost are random and adopt the Bayesian approach to determine the optimal software release time. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the Bayesian method for certain parametric models.

  • Software developers often allocate a significant amount of effort to software testing. But for most business-related software system it is natural to expect the continued discovery of defects after the software system is released into field. Such defects are usually very expensive to fix and have the potential to cause great damages to the users. It is important to stop testing the software and release it to the users at the correct time. In this paper, we propose the determination of the optimal number of software test oy minimizing a total expected software cost. A numerical example is used when the criterion is the expected profit. The result indicates that the proposed software release policy based on the number of software test can be a good alternative to the existing policy.

  • In this paper, Switching to digital TV broadcasting and mobile operators license expiration period of the frequency, time and 700MHz, 800MHz and 900MHz frequency band plan for the redistribution is actively being discussed. Redistribution policy direction of these frequency 800MHz (bandwidth 10MHz) integrated command frequency for wireless networks(i.e TETRA) is expected to be considered a redistribution. These Integrated Wireless Network Infrastructure configurations at the time and data communication capabilities of the system unwilling TETRA Release 2 standard for the system is presented. This system is analyzed that Release 1 of the existing system takes up more than 6 times the increase of frequency bands. Therefore, integration of the frequency band assigned to the command of a wireless network with the introduction of advanced systems will not be able to do. In this paper to the digital TV transition, and the policy based on analysis of trends in the 700MHz band for the integration of wireless networks, provides policy direction for the allocation plan.

  • This study was conducted to investigate provider's behavior change after releasing the information on the Cesarean section rate. Claims data filed at the National Health Insurance Corporation was used for this analysis and the focus of this study was the change of cesarean rate after the public disclosure of information. Average rates of the year 1999 and 2000 were compared, on the institutional basis, and range and coefficient of variation were estimated. For the last decade, Cesarean section rate has been increased dramatically. Clinical or demographic factors could not adequately explain the increase. Instead, nonclinical factors, such as financial incentive, physician's convenience, practice characteristics, etc., were more significant in explaining the increasing rate. Providers' behavior was significantly affected by the public release of information: after the release, average rate was decreased by 10.2%, and variations were also decreased. In particular, the extent of decrease was explained mainly by nonclinical factor rather than clinical ones. The results suggest that disseminating practice information to providers and consumers could contribute to reducing unnecessary medical service.

  • In real software development fields, software is unified by several modules that are developed before the software testing period. For the evaluation of software task processing performance, this paper considers the software imperfect debugging model that is proposed by Lee and Park (2003) and presents the measures of a unified software, such as the completion probability of a task which is completed in a time interval and the expected number of the completed tasks. In addition, we suggest a software release policy that satisfies the required level of the expected perfect debugging, completion probability, and availability.

  • Recently, Internet solution market is focused on competition in Electronic Commerce (EC) rather than necessity and effectiveness of EC. In this paper, we propose a policy-oriented matching agent system that makes EC market active. We can pursue diverse promotion since policies are objects, and we can formulate, carry out, pursue, and evaluated a policy consistently on the proposed solution since our solution is integrated into merits of rule-based system and operation space (release post). There are three important points of the implementation. It is component-based structure that fits to be a basic platform for EC. It is connected with other system easily, so it can help marketing. Marketing.
