  • This study was conducted to derive the design rainfall by the consecutive duration using the at-site frequency analysis. Using the errors, K-S tests and LH-moment ratios, Log Pearson type 3 (LP3) and Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) distributions of Gamma and Non-Gamma Family, respectively were identified as the optimal probability distributions among applied distributions. Parameters of GEV and LP3 distributions were estimated by the method of L and LH-moments and the Indirect method of moments respectively. Design rainfalls following the consecutive duration were derived by at-site frequency analysis using the observed and simulated data resulted from Monte Carlo techniques. Relative root-mean-square error (RRMSE) and relative efficiency (RE) in RRMSE for the design rainfall derived by at-site analysis in the observed and simulated data were computed and compared. It has shown that at-site frequency analysis by GEV distribution using L-moments is confirmed as more reliable than that of GEV and LP3 distributions using LH-moments and Indirect method of moments in view of relative efficiency.

  • In this paper, we consider two-components system which the lifetimes have a bivariate Weibull distribution with bivariate random censored data. Here the bivariate censoring times are independent of the lifetimes of the components. We obtain estimators and approximated confidence intervals for the reliability of series system based on likelihood function and relative frequency, respectively. Also we present a numerical study.

  • The circular microstrip resonator which can be exactly performed with theoretical resonant frequency using the conception of dynamic effective relative dielectric constants is analyzed in this paper. The formula of exact resonant frequency of resonator, in this study, is estabilished by effective resonator dimension and dynamic relative dielectric constant. The measurement of transmission type circular resonator which fabricated by AL2O3 and Epsilam-10 is to prove that the experimental results are more agreed a well with the simulated values by this new method than the simple resonator model.

  • A single frequency strain mode test, a stress relaxation mode test, and a creep test using RH-DMA were performed to investigate the effects of relative humidity and temperature on the viscous properties of PET film. The relative humidity was 10%, 30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%. The temperature was considered to be 30~95℃ for single frequency strain mode tests, 30℃ and 70℃ for stress relaxation mode test, and 5~95℃ for creep test. According to the results, higher relative humidity results in lower storage modulus and loss modulus, but the maximum value of the loss modulus is not significantly affected by changes in relative humidity and is almost constant. Relaxation modulus decreases rapidly at the beginning and becomes constant, and as the temperature increases, it is susceptible to changes in relative humidity. Strain recovery also increases rapidly at the beginning and is susceptible to changes in relative humidity as the temperature increases. In addition, as the temperature increases, the degree of increase in creep compliance increases, and as the temperature rises above the glass transfer temperature, the degree of increase becomes very large. The master curve determined by the time-temperature superposition provides the information to predict the long-term performance under operating conditions such as relative humidity and temperature.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyse the relationship between behaviors of the video game(frequency, time career) and related variables in middle and high school boys. The data were collected using questionnaires from 342 boys. The major results of this study are summarized as follows : (1) A correlation between the frequency and the time of video game was significant. but correlations between the career and the frequency. the time of video game were not significant. (2) The frequency of video game showed significant relationship with place. preference formation, relative preference. and parents involvement. The time of video game showed significant relationships with place. preference formation, relative preference, and cost. The career showed significant relationship with place and cost.

  • The KOMPSAT-2 satellite is a push-broom system with MSC (Multi Spectral Camera) which contains a panchromatic band and four multi-spectral bands covering the spectral range from 450nm to 900nm. The PAN band is composed of six CCD array with 2528 pixels. And the MS band has one CCD array with 3792 pixels. Raw imagery generated from a push-broom sensor contains vertical streaks caused by variability in detector response, variability in lens falloff, pixel area, output amplifiers and especially electrical gain and offset. Relative radiometric calibration is necessary to account for the detector-to-detector non-uniformity in this raw imagery. Non-uniformity correction (NUC) is that the process of performing on-board relative correction of gain and offset for each pixel to improve data compressibility and to reduce banding and streaking from aggregation or re-sampling in the imagery. A relative gain and offset are calculated for each detector using scenes from uniform target area such as a large desert, forest, sea. In the NUC of KOMPSAT-2, The NUC table for each pixel are divided as HF NUC (high frequency NUC) and LF NUC (low frequency NUC) to apply to few restricted facts in the operating system ofKOMPSAT-2. This work presents the algorithm and process of NUC table generation and shows the imagery to compare with and without calibration.

  • This study began with the discovery of the concept of frequency density in Singapore textbooks and in a set of subject contents of the UK's General Certificate of Secondary Education. To understand the mathematical meaning of frequency density, the mathematical connection of frequency density was considered in terms of mathematics internal connections and mathematics external connections. In addition, the teaching method of frequency density was introduced. In terms of mathematical internal connections, the connections among the probability density function, relative frequency density, and frequency density in high school statistics were examined. Regarding mathematical external connections, the connection with the density concept in middle school science was analyzed. Based on the mathematical connection, the study suggested the need to introduce the frequency density concept. For the teaching method of frequency density, the Singapore secondary mathematics textbook was introduced. The Singapore textbook introduces frequency density to correctly represent and accurately interpret data in histograms with unequal class intervals. Therefore, by introducing frequency density, Korea can consistently teach probability density function, relative frequency density, and frequency density, emphasizing the mathematical internal connections among them and considering the external connections with the science subject. Furthermore, as a teaching method of frequency density, we can consider the method provided in the Singapore textbook.

  • In this paper, we propose a 16-QAM carrier recovery loop which is suitable for the implementation of Inmarsat M4 system receiver. Because the frequency offset of ${\pm}924\;Hz$ on signal bandwidth 33.6 kHz is recommended in Inmarsat M4 system specification, carrier recovery loop having stable operation in the channel environment with large relative frequency offset is required. the carrier recovery loop which adopts only PLL can't be stable in relatively large frequency offset environment. Therefore, we propose a carrier recovery loop which has stable operation in large relative frequency offset environment for Inmarsat M4 system. The proposed carrier recovery loop employed differential filter-based noncoherent UW detector which is robust to frequency offset, CP-AFC for initial frequency offset acquisition using UW signal, and 16-QAM DD-PLL for phase tracking using data signal to overcome large relative frequency offset and achieve stable carrier recovery performance. Simulation results show that the proposed carrier recovery loop has stable operation and satisfactory performance in large relative frequency offset environment for Inmarsat M4 system.
