  • Caloric restriction (CR) has been associated with health benefits and these effects have been attributed, in part, to modulation of oxidative status by CR; however, data are still controversial. Here, we investigate the effects of seventeen weeks of chronic CR on parameters of oxidative damage/modification of proteins and on antioxidant enzyme activities in cardiac and kidney tissues. Our results demonstrate that CR induced an increase in protein carbonylation in the heart without changing the content of sulfhydryl groups or the activities of superoxide dismutase and catalase (CAT). Moreover, CR caused an increase in CAT activity in kidney, without changing other parameters. Protein carbonylation has been associated with oxidative damage and functional impairment; however, we cannot exclude the possibility that, under our conditions, this alteration indicates a different functional meaning in the heart tissue. In addition, we reinforce the idea that CR can increase CAT activity in the kidney. Moreover, CR caused an increase in CAT activity in kidney, without changing other parameters. • The industrial cluster policy of 21st century rise to the focus method of regional economic promotion, therefore, the importance of study in cluster identification and mapping as policy task will bring into relief. This paper will confirms the estimate index and policy of industrial clusters with regional industry. The result in this case study, Cluster development should embrace the pursuit of competitive advantage and specialization rather than simply imitate successful clusters in other locations. This requires building on local sources of uniqueness. Government should reinforce and building on existing and emerging clusters rather than attempt to create entirely new ones. This sort of role for government is very different from industrial policy. The aim of cluster policy is to reinforce the development of all clusters. Not all clusters will succeed, but market forces should determine the outcomes. In other words, government should build on market- oriented system and innovative infra. The result of this study is meaning to the development of objectivity estimate index and derivation of cluster-focused policy with a case study of industrial clusters.

  • First investigation is urgent investigation activities to arrest and to obtain evidence at the beginning of the incident. If the first investigation is wrong, the crime will not be solved or a lot of evidence will be disappeared. Therefore, if the first investigation is wrong, Wasting a lot of manpower and budget, or the other victims are to occur. First investigation is the crime scene centered investigation, victim centered investigation and damaged goods centered investigation. The crime scene centered investigation is the investigation on the discovery of dropped objects, to confirm thd date of offense, on the discovery of witnesses. Victim centered investigation is the investigation of victim's personal information, the living conditions of the family, fellowship and home interior matter. Damaged goods centered investigation is the investigation on the place of crime damaged goods and the movement route of crime damaged goods. In order to reinforce the investigative capacity of police first investigation, It is needed to reinforce the education on the first investigation, to conduct continuously for FTX (field training), to product the manual for first investigation, to build a case analysis system, to develop of forensic techniques and the coordination of national. The police should be giving people faith from the first investigation.

  • This paper is a study on the understanding process of「Matrix and Graph」on discrete mathematics using TI-92 calculator. For this purpose, we investigated the understanding process of two middle school students learning the concepts of matrix and graph using TI-92 calculator. In this process, we collected qualitative data using recorder and video camera. Then we categorized these data as follows: students' attitude related to using technology, understanding process of meaning, expression and operation of matrix and graph, mathematical communication, etc. From this, we have the following conclusions: First, students inquired out the meaning and role of matrix by themselves using calculator. We could see that calculator can do the role of good learning partner to them. Second, students realized their own mistakes when they used calculator on the process of learning matrix. So we found that calculator could form the self-leading learning circumstance on learning matrix. Third, calculators reinforce the mathematical communication in learning matrix and graph. That is, calculator could be a good mediator to reinforce mathematical communication between teacher and students, among students on learning matrix and graph.

  • This paper tries to analyze technologies of search engine generally, and reveal the additional modes of Korean search engine at the same time. Recently it said that search engine becomes a self-moving and is getting more strong power than the former one existed. There are many difference interpretative views from technological determination to instrumentalism surrounding this system. Search engine invents the technological mode that draws user's attention to make its own expertise reinforce. It is stemmed from the rationality of its own. Especially Korean search engine exposed unique mutation as self-proliferation of it during past a decade, as for example "related keyword" or "real-time popular keyword" service. Its automatic decision aroused democracy matter, now it is not only web guide. How we do make it to serve in democracy, accepting the independent expertise of it simultaneously? We might find new prospect when focusing on interactional modality between engine and human actor, instead counting both as a separate one.

  • Optical fibers, for splice, are stripped of their plastic coatings with a plastic stripper and cut off at the end. Therefore, stripped fibers often receive accidental damages and sustain small flaws or cracks. As a result, the breaking strength of a fiber splice made under normal conditions is reduced to about 0.4∼1 ㎏ on the average, nearly one-tenth of the fiber's strength. This makes it necessary to reinforce the splice. One of the most practical and reliable methods for optical fiber splicing is fusion splicing, comprising the steps of tripping the plastic coatings from the two fiber ends to be splice, placing the two bare fiber ends in an end-to-end position, and of fusion splicing, such as are fusion. Generally, steel bar (SB) sleeve is used to reinforce this fusion-splicing region. However, this type of sleeve has a critical defect to keep optical lose after bent by a sudden load. New type of composite spring (CS) sleeve is developed to make up for the weak points in the SB sleeve. This sleeve has an effect on restoration to the original state after eliminating the bending load. The optical spectrum analyzes results show the availability of reinforcement for the fusion splicing optical fiber using small diameter composite springs under the various loading conditions.

  • To reinforce bearing capacity-changed section or different foundation in the same building, empirical or simple tools have been used. To solve this problem, an analytical solution which can evaluate and reinforce the stability of foundation is introduced. To suggest a clue for the problems, current foundation reinforcing method is studied through recent literature studies and the structural analyses of foundation slab are performed on the pile foundation of 49$m^2$, 59$m^2$ and 84$m^2$ I type apartments in 15 story building. The analyses are conducted with SAP 2000, a computer program for ordinary structural analysis. To predict the moments of slab by ground non-uniformity, the structural analysis results for the foundation slab of 3 types 15 story apartment buildings in 49$m^2$, 59$m^2$ and 84$m^2$ I type on non-uniformity ground are shown in the diagrams.

  • Since the 1990s, with the beginning of local autonomy, most Korean cities have tried to establish and reinforce their own identity. The Law on the Planning and the Use of National Land, which took effect in January 2003, requires major and minor cities to manage and develop a city image and a marketing strategy to reflect their current condition. However, many cities continue to experience confusion in implementing urban landscape planning because no efficient and systematic method has been provided for the analysis of a city's image. The absence of systematic analysis methods makes it difficult not only to assess the current condition of a city accurately but also to choose an appropriate policy for the given city. Consequently, many cities suffer excessive trials and errors in implementing the correct policies for their city. The purpose of this study was to analyze the image: of Kongju, which has many historical properties. For this purpose, adjective questionnaires and multi-dimensional scaling (MDS) were made use of in order to assess the city image. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. There are five properties that serve as landmarts lie symbolize Kongju: Muryeong royal tomb, Castle Kong, Mt. Gyeoiryong, Forest Museum, and Kongju National Museum. 2. Based on the citizen survey regarding the city type, Kongju is seen as a historical and an educational city. 3. Based on the image positioning (image spatial plot), Kongju is described as an old and familiar city. There we, however, no landmarks which are in accord with the image of Kongju. It is difficult to establish and reinforce the image of a city with a single element like a landmark However, with steady follow-up research, this study may serve as a systematic and logical model to improve the urban landscape and image.
