  • In this paper, fuzzy ${\alpha}^*$-set, fuzzy C-set, fuzzy AB-set, fuzzy t-set, fuzzy B-set, etc., are introduced in the sense of Sostak [12] and Ramadan [9]. By using these sets, a decomposition of fuzzy continuity and complete fuzzy continuity are provided. Characterization of smooth fuzzy extremally disconnected spaces is also obtained in this connection.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics between therapy continuity group and therapy discontinuity group and to develop management program for Korean patients with hypertension and diabetes. Methods: The subject of the study were 109 therapy continuity and 66 therapy discontinuity of Korea hypertension diabetes Daegu initiative. The data collection was performed from December 5 to December 30, 2008. Analysis of data was done by using descriptive statistics, chi-square test, t-test and ANCOVA with SPSS program. Results: 1) The groups were significantly correlated with such variables systolic BP(F=4.518, p=0.035) and diastolic BP(F=17.793, p=0.000). 2) The groups with hypertensive were significantly correlated with such variables perceived susceptibility of disease($\chi^2$=25.053, p=0.000), perceived barrier of health behavior($\chi^2$=12.584, p=0.006), drinking($\chi^2$=27.545, p=0.000), diet($\chi^2$=8.645, p=0.013), regular taking medicine($\chi^2$=92.415, p=0.000) and regular measurement of BP($\chi^2$=6.045, p=0.049). 3) The groups with diabetic were significantly correlated with such variables perceived seriousness of disease($\chi^2$=6.128, p=0.047), perceived susceptibility of disease($\chi^2$=8.079, p=0.018), health knowledge and attitude(F=8.418, p=0.006), drinking($\chi^2$=6.276, p=0.043), diet($\chi^2$=7.275, p=0.026), regular taking medicine($\chi^2$=33.083, p=0.000) and regular measurement of glucose($\chi^2$=7.233, p=0.027). Conclusion: The above findings indicate that it is necessary to develop and apply special management programs according to the therapy discontinuity group.

  • In this note we extend the results of [3] concerning subadditive separating maps from A=C(X) to B=C(Y), for compact Hausdorff spaces X and Y, to the case where A and B are regular Banach function algebras(not necessarily unital) with A satisfying Ditkin#s condition. In particular we describe the general form of these maps and get a result on continuity of separating linear functionals.

  • The aim of this paper is to study and find characterizations of quasi-fuzzy continuous and quasi-fuzzy closed mappings between fuzzy bitopological spaces. The notion of quasi-fuzzy open sets is used to defined quasi-fuzzy Ti (i=0, 1, 2) and quasi-fuzzy regular spaces and these spaces are investigated under quasi-fuzzy continuity. Finally, quasi-fuzzy connectednss is introduced and studied to some extent.

  • We introduce the concepts of fuzzy $(r,\;s)$-regular open sets and fuzzy almost $(r,\;s)$-continuous mappings on the intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces in ${\check{S}}ostak^{\prime}s$ sense. Also we investigate the equivalent conditions of the fuzzy almost $(r,\;s)$-continuity.

  • Objectives: The goal of this study was to identify association between the continuity of ambulatory care of diabetes patients in South Korea (hereafter Korea) and the incidence of macrovascular complications of diabetes, using claims data compiled by the National Health Insurance Services of Korea. Methods: This study was conducted retrospectively. The subjects of the study were 43 002 patients diagnosed with diabetes in 2007, who were over 30 years of age, and had insurance claim data from 2008. The macrovascular complications of diabetes mellitus were limited to ischemic heart disease and ischemic stroke. We compared the characteristics of the patients in whom macrovascular complications occurred from 2009 to 2012 to the characteristics of the patients who had no such complications. Multiple logistic regression was used to assess the effects of continuity of ambulatory care on diabetic macrovascular complications. The continuity of ambulatory diabetes care was estimated by metrics such as the medication possession ratio, the quarterly continuity of care and the number of clinics that were visited. Results: Patients with macrovascular complications showed statistically significant differences regarding sex, age, comorbidities, hypertension, dyslipidemia and continuity of ambulatory diabetes care. Visiting a lower number of clinics reduced the odds ratio for macrovascular complications of diabetes. A medication possession ratio below 80% was associated with an increased odds ratio for macrovascular complications, but this result was of borderline statistical significance. Conclusions: Diabetes care by regular health care providers was found to be associated with a lower occurrence of diabetic macrovascular complications. This result has policy implications for the Korean health care system, in which the delivery system does not work properly.

  • In this paper, we introduce some new classes of generalized mappings and prove some common fixed point theorems for a pair of asymptotically regular mappings. Our results extend and improve various well-known results due to Kannan, Reich, Wong, Hardy and Rogers, Ćirić, Jungck, Górnicki and many others. In addition to it, a sequential fixed point for a mapping which is the point-wise limit of a sequence of functions satisfying Ćirić-Proinov-Górnicki type mapping has been proved. Supporting examples have been given in strengthening hypotheses of our established theorems.

  • The wave attenuation by floating breakwaters in high amplitude waves, which can lead to wave overtopping and breaking, is examined by numerical simulations. The governing equations, the Navier-Stokes equations and the continuity equation, are calculated in a fixed Cartesian grid system. The body boundaries are defined by the line segment connecting the points where the grid line and body surface meet. No-slip and divergence free conditions are satisfied at the body boundary cell. The nonlinear waves near the moving body is defined using the modified marker-density method. To verify the present numerical method, vortex induced vibration on an elastically mounted cylinder and free roll decay are numerically simulated and the results are compared with those reported in the literature. Using the present numerical method, the wave attenuations by three kinds of floating breakwaters are simulated numerically in a regular wave to compare the performance.

  • A new class of functions called $R_{\theta}$-supercontinuous functions is introduced. Their basic properties are studied and their place in the hierarchy of strong variants of continuity, which already exist in the literature, is elaborated. The class of $R_{\theta}$-supercontinuous functions properly contains the class of $R_z$-supercontinuous functions [39] which in turn properly contains the class of $R_{cl}$-supercontinuous functions [43] and so includes all cl-supercontinuous (clopen continuous) functions ([38], [34]) and is properly contained in the class of $R_{\delta}$-supercontinuous functions [24].
