시 지역과 군 지역주민들의 주관적 구강건강인식과 삶의 질 (2015년 지역사회건강조사자료 이용) (Self-Rated Oral Health Status and the Quality of Life in Urban and County Areas Based on 2015 Community Health Survey data)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the self-rated oral health status of local residents and their quality of life in urban and county areas in an effort to provide information on how to improve their quality of life. Method : The 2015 community health survey data for South Gyeongsang Province(10 urban regions and 10 county areas) were analyzed. Result : The findings of the study were as follows: As for the characteristics of self- rated oral health, there were better self-rated oral health, less chewing difficulty, less use of dentures, higher rate of receiving dental checkups and more scaling experience in the urban communities than in the county areas. Concerning EQ-5D and happiness index by region, the two were higher in the urban regions than in the county areas. In regard to EQ-5D and happiness index by the characteristics of self-rated oral health, better self-rated oral health status and less chewing difficulty led to higher EQ-5D and higher happiness index. And the two were higher when dentures were not used, when more dental checkups were received and when there was more scaling experience. Conclusion : Therefore in order to boost the quality of life of local residents, the preparation of various educational programs is necessary to raise their awareness of health, and they should be provided with a wide range of medical benefits by dispersing medical institutions that are mostly located in urban communities or by expanding public health services in county areas.

실시간 심전도 모니터링을 위한 HL7 메시지 간소화 전략 (A Lightweight HL7 Message Strategy for Real-Time ECG Monitoring)

  • 최근 IT 기술이 발전함에 따라 실시간 심전도 모니터링이 가능해 졌으며, 이는 의료정보교환을 위한 HL7 표준의 전도 유망한 응용 중 하나로 인식되고 있다. 하지만 HL7 메시지 내 데이터 중복으로 인한 메시지의 크기 및 생성시간의 증가로 인해 HL7 표준을 실시간 심전도 모니터링에 바로 적용하기에는 무리가 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 실시간 심전도 모니터링에 적합한 HL7 메시지의 간소화 전략을 제안한다. 다양한 형식의 심전도 데이터를 Feature Scaling을 거쳐 정형화된 포맷으로 조정하고 HL7 규약에 순응하는 메시지를 생성한다. 또한 HL7 ORU 메시지 내의 중복되는 OBX 필드를 제거하기 위해 De-Duplication 알고리즘을 수행한다. 이를 통해 기존의 HL7 표준 적용 대비 메시지의 생성시간은 최대 51%, 크기는 최대 1/8로 줄일 수 있음을 실험적으로 확인하였다.

폐쇄성 수면 무호흡증의 심각도와 심박동 변이율 : 탈경향변동분석 (Severity of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Heart Rate Variability : Detrended Fluctuation Analysis)

  • Objectives : The detrended fluctuation analysis is one of the nonlinear methods for the investigation of biological time series. It quantifies the fractal scaling properties and is known to be useful in the evaluation of long-range correlations in time series. The heart rate variability(HRV) of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) patients during nighttime was analyzed by detrended fluctuation analysis to assess its relationship with the severity of the symptoms. Methods : Fifty nine untreated male OSAS patients with moderate to severe symptoms(mean age=45.4${\pm}$11.7 years, apnea-hypopnea index, AHI${\geq}$15) underwent nocturnal polysomnography. Moderate(AHI=15-30, N=22) and severe(AHI>30, N=37) OSAS patients were compared for the indices derived from detrended fluctuation analysis and frequency domain analysis of HRV. Results : In the detrended fluctuation analysis, the alpha values were 0.75${\pm}$0.11 and 0.82${\pm}$0.07 for the severe and the moderate OSAS groups respectively. The difference was significant(p<.01). The alpha value had negative correlation with AHI(r=-.425, p=.001). Negative correlation coefficients were also found in the relationships between the alpha values and very low frequency(VLF)(r=-.425, p=.001), low frequency(LF)(r=-.633, p= <.001) and the LF/HF ratio(r=-.305, p=.019) respectively. LF/HF ratio(p=.005) was higher in the severe OSAS group compared to that of the moderate OSAS group. Conclusion : In this study, the detrended fluctuation analysis showed the significant difference between the two OSAS groups classified according to their severity of symptoms. The scaling exponent showed the negative correlation with AHI and indicies of frequency domain analysis. This result suggests that detrended fluctuation analysis can be helpful to estimate the severity of OSAS.

An Effective Antidandruff Agent - IPBC

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of IPBC(3-lodo-2-propynylbutyl carbamate) on dandruff caused by the anthropophilic fungus Maiassezia furfur. The effects of IPBC on dandruff were examined by evaluating (a) the MIC value of IPBC using broth dilution method : (b) the remnant antimicrobial activity of IPBC containing shampoo on skin disc ; (c) the antidandruff efficacy of 1.0 % IPBC containing shampoo in double blind clinical trial. To investigate the remnant antimicrobial activity of IPBC against Maiassezia furfur, guinea pig-skin disc was washed with antidandruff shampoo and then the diameter of inhibition zone per disc was measured. For clinical trial, thirty healthy volunteers, aged 25-35, participated in 4 week study. At 0,2,4 weeks, examinations of scaling, itching on scalp were carried out. The MIC(Minimun Inhibition Concentration) values of IPBC range from 0.10 to 1.00$\mu$ g/ml and it seems that IPBC is more effective in the MIC values than zinc pyrithione, selenium disulphide, piroctone olamine and comparable to ketoconazole, climbazole. When the rimnant antimicrobial activity of IPBC shampoo on skin disc was determined, 0.5% IPBC shampoo and 2.0% Ketoconazole shampoo resulted in similar antimicrobial effect. In addition, 1.0%,2.0% IPBC shampoo was more effective than 2.0% ketoconazole shampoo. After two and four-weeks of 1.0% IPBC shampoo treatment, there was significant reduction of scaling, itching in test group compared to control group. On the basis of these results, it can be concluded that 1.0% IPBC is more effective than 2.0% Ketoconazole in reducing dandruff. It seems that strong capacity of drug binding to the stratum corneum plays a role in its antidandruff effect since adsorption of active ingredients on scalp is very important factor in reducing dandruff.

Mechanical properties and durability of roller-compacted concrete incorporating powdered and granulated blast furnace slag in frost regions

  • The mechanical properties and durability of concrete pavements may be degraded in extreme situations, resulting in the need for partial repair or total replacement. During the past few decades, there has been a growing body of research on substituting a portion of Portland cement with alternative cementitious materials for improving concrete properties. In this study, two different configurations of powdered and granulated blast furnace slag were implemented, replacing fine aggregates (by 12 wt.%) and Portland cement (by 0, 20, 40, and 60 wt.%) in the making of roller-compacted concrete (RCC) mixes. The specimens were fabricated to investigate the mechanical properties and durability specifications, involving freeze-thaw, salt-scaling, and water absorption resistance. The experimental results indicated that the optimum mechanical properties of RCC mixes could be achieved when 20-40 wt.% of powdered slag was added to concrete mixes containing slag aggregates. Accordingly, the increases in compressive, tensile, and flexural strengths were 45, 50, and 28%, in comparison to the control specimen at the age of 90 days. Also, incorporating 60 wt.% of powdered slag gave rise to the optimum mix plan in terms of freeze-thaw resistance such that a negligible strength degradation was experienced after 300 cycles. In addition, the optimal moisture content of the proposed RCC mixtures was measured to be in the range of 5 to 6.56%. Furthermore, the partial addition of granulated slag was found to be more advantageous than using entirely natural sand in the improvement of the mechanical and durability characteristics of all mixture plans.

The Radial Distribution Functions of the Scaled OSS2 Water

  • Classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulations using a scaled OSS2 potential originally derived from ab initio calculations are used to study the radial distribution functions of water. The original OSS2 water potential is shown to represent a glassy or an ice at ambient temperature, but the diffusion coefficient increases on increasing the temperature of the system or decreasing the density. This suggests scaling the OSS2 potential. The O-O, O-H, and H-H radial distribution functions and the corresponding coordination numbers for the scaled OSS2 potential, obtained by MD simulation, are in good agreement with the experiment results and calculations for the SPC/E water potential over a range of temperatures.

  • The classical Geometric Brownian motion (GBM) model for the price of a risky asset, from which the huge financial derivatives industry has developed, stipulates that the log returns are iid Gaussian. however, typical log returns data show a distribution with much higher peaks and heavier tails than the Gaussian as well as evidence of strong and persistent dependence. In this paper we describe a simple replacement for GBM, a fractal activity time Geometric Brownian motion (FATGBM) model based on fractal activity time which readily explains these observed features in the data. Consequences of the model are explained, and examples are given to illustrate how the self-similar scaling properties of the activity time check out in practice.

Widely Tunable Adaptive Resolution-controlled Read-sensing Reference Current Generation for Reliable PRAM Data Read at Scaled Technologies

  • Phase-change random access memory (PRAM) has been emerged as a potential memory due to its excellent scalability, non-volatility, and random accessibility. But, as the cell current is reducing due to cell size scaling, the read-sensing window margin is also decreasing due to increased variation of cell performance distribution, resulting in a substantial loss of yield. To cope with this problem, a novel adaptive read-sensing reference current generation scheme is proposed, whose trimming range and resolution are adaptively controlled depending on process conditions. Performance evaluation in a 58-nm CMOS process indicated that the proposed read-sensing reference current scheme allowed the integral nonlinearity (INL) to be improved from 10.3 LSB to 2.14 LSB (79% reduction), and the differential nonlinearity (DNL) from 2.29 LSB to 0.94 LSB (59% reduction).

  • the reduction of the interior nosie level has been the main interest of NVH engineers in the development of vehicles. However, the consumer's perception on the car noise is affected largely by the psychoacoustic characteristics of the noise, as well as the sound pressure level. In this study, the quality of the vehicle interior nosie is analyzed by employing the subjective evaluations and by representing them in temrs of the objective quantities. The subjective evaluatins were performed for the seven vehicles in the range of subcompact to luxury cars. The methods of paired comparisons and semantic differential were used to study the preference, the quality of interior noise and their correlation. The linear regression models were obtained for the subjective evaluation and the sound quality metrics.

상표이미지 선호도와 패션 광고 전략에 관한 연구 - 여대생을 중심으로 - (A Study on Brand Image Preference and Fashion Advertising Strategy)

  • This study was to investigate brand images of ladies wear and the effects of fashion advertisements, and to determine the difference of brand image preference and the effects of fashion advertising by clothing life style. 421 subjects were gathered through stratified sampling method and, for data analysis, frequency distribution, $x^2-test$, Cronbach'$\alpha$, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple Range test, Multiple Dimentional Scaling (M.D.S.), Factor analysis, Cluster analysis, were conducted. The results are as follows; 1. In image formation process, feminine as formal image, manish as casual image, were recognized. 2. Four factors were determined for analysis of clothing life styles and with these factors five different clothing life style groups were classified. 3. There was a meaningful difference between clothing life style and brand image preference, and also between clothing life style and the effects of fashion advertisement. From these findings, general and specific fashion advertising strategies are proposed.
