  • We consider weighted Bergman spaces and radial derivatives on the spaces. We also prove that for each element f in B$\^$p, r/ there is a unique f in B$\^$p, r/ such that f is the radial derivative of f and for each f$\in$B$\^$r/(i), f is the radial derivative of some element of B$\^$r/(i) if and only if, lim f(tz)= 0 for all z$\in$H.

  • In this paper, we investigate a family of holomorphic functions in several complex variables concerning the total derivative (or called radial derivative), and obtain some well-known normality criteria such as the Miranda's theorem, the Marty's theorem and results on the Hayman's conjectures in several complex variables. A high-dimension version of the famous Zalcman's lemma for normal families is also given.

  • We introduce a radial basis collocation method to solve axially moving beam problems which involve $2^{nd}$ order differentiation in time and $4^{th}$ order differentiation in space. The discrete equation is constructed based on the strong form of the governing equation. The employment of multiquadrics radial basis function allows approximation of higher order derivatives in the strong form. Unlike the other approximation functions used in the meshfree methods, such as the moving least-squares approximation, $4^{th}$ order derivative of multiquadrics radial basis function is straightforward. We also show that the standard weighted boundary collocation approach for imposition of boundary conditions in static problems yields significant errors in the transient problems. This inaccuracy in dynamic problems can be corrected by a statically condensed semi-discrete equation resulting from an exact imposition of boundary conditions. The effectiveness of this approach is examined in the numerical examples.

  • This work derives a generalized time fractional differential equation governing wave propagation in a radially vibrating non-classical cylindrical medium. The cylinder is made of a transversely isotropic hyperelastic John's material which obeys frequency-dependent power law attenuation. Employing the definition of the conformable fractional derivative, the solution of the obtained generalized time fractional wave equation is expressed in terms of product of Bessel functions in spatial and temporal variables; and the resulting wave is characterized by the presence of peakons, the appearance of which fade in density as the order of fractional derivative approaches 2. It is obtained that the transversely isotropic structure of the material of the cylinder increases the wave speed and introduces an additional term in the wave equation. Further, it is observed that the law relating the non-zero components of the Cauchy stress tensor in the cylinder under consideration generalizes the hypothesis of plane strain in classical elasticity theory. This study reinforces the view that fractional derivative is suitable for modeling anomalous wave propagation in media.

  • Hardy and Littlewood found a relation between the smoothness of the radial limit of an analytic function on the unit disk D ⊂ ℂ and the growth of its derivative. It is reasonable to expect an analytic function to be smooth on the boundary if its derivative grows slowly, and conversely. Gehring and Martio showed this principle for uniform domains in ℝ2. Astala and Gehring proved quasiconformal analogue of this principle for uniform domains in ℝn. We consider α-quasihyperbolic metric, kαD and we extend it to proper domains in ℝn.

  • In this paper we proposed a heterogeneous hidden layer consisting of both sigmoid functions and RBFs(Radial Basis Function) in multi-layered neural networks. Focusing on the orthogonal relationship between the sigmoid function and its derivative, a derived RBF that is a derivative of the sigmoid function is used as the RBF in the neural network. so the proposed neural network is called ONN(Orthogonal Neural Network). Identification results using a nonlinear function confirm both the ONN's feasibility and characteristics by comparing with those obtained using a conventional neural network which has sigmoid function or RBF in hidden layer

  • Since the change of the radial electromagnetic force is a main cause of noise and vibration of the SRM, this paper proposes a method to reduce the change of the electromagnetic force of an SRM. The technique is based on the control of the current shape associated with each phase using switches of the converter to drive an SRM. And we analyze the relation between the derivative of the radial electromagnetic force and the phase currents. A simulation is given to demonstrate our results.

  • This paper presents a model-free system based on a framework of a backstepping sliding mode control (BSMC) with a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) and adaptive mechanism for electro-hydraulic systems (EHSs). First, an EHS mathematical model was dedicatedly derived to understand the system behavior. Based on the system structure, BSMC was employed to satisfy the output performance. Due to the highly nonlinear characteristics and the presence of parametric uncertainties, a model-free approximator based on an RBFNN was developed to compensate for the EHS dynamics, thus addressing the difficulty in the requirement of system information. Adaptive laws based on the actor-critic neural network (ACNN) were implemented to suppress the existing error in the approximation and satisfy system qualification. The stability of the closed-loop system was theoretically proven by the Lyapunov function. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, proportional-integrated-derivative (PID) and improved PID with ACNN (ACPID), which are considered two complete model-free methods, and adaptive backstepping sliding mode control, considered an ideal model-based method with the same adaptive laws, were used as two benchmark control strategies in a comparative simulation. The simulated results validated the superiority of the proposed algorithm in achieving nearly the same performance as the ideal adaptive BSMC.
