For this purpose, 'Qualitative Meta-Analysis' was conducted for seven papers of this area, which was published in Korean journals as a method. 'Qualitative Meta-Analysis' is a method of presenting new interpretations by synthesizing qualitative studies on the same topic. In this study, the qualitative research on the process of returning from the school dropout was selected. The final articles selected for the analysis were seven articles published in domestic journals. The results obtained by comparing and analyzing the selected individual papers were as follows. For adolescents, a series of the process of returning from school dropout was 'self-growth through introspection and support.' In this process, there were five stages of change: abandonment, drifting, self-awareness, decisive action, and struggles. Relevant factors that led to this change were self-perception, the awareness of a reality, resources and support. Based on these results, the characteristics of each step were explained and discussed. Finally, the implications and limitations of the study were clarified and the follow-up study was proposed for more detailed examination.

  • Consumers' price related response in the clothing purchase decision-making process includes their expectation of price, price perception, attitude toward price and consequent behaviors. The purposes of this research are to systematically organize consumers' price related responses in the clothing purchase decision-making process, and to explain the effect of price on their purchasing. The qualitative research including shopping observation and in-depth interview was conducted. The result identified stages that showed different price related responses in clothing purchase decision-making process, and clarified each stage's characteristics. In the internal search stage, consumers recalled price information from memory and had a specific expectation about the price. This set a direction for the external search. In the external search stage, consumers selected brands or stores by a non-compensatory evaluating with an expectation of the price, and narrowed these down to several determinant alternatives by actively evaluating the products. In case a sufficient amount of price information was not recalled, the consumer established reference price through the external search. Finally, in the purchasing stage, consumers evaluated the determinant alternatives based on their compensatory evaluation. When perception of price was negative, consumers evaluate price combined with the higher criteria of clothing benefits, such as symbolic value and usability. The research is expected to contribute to predicting consumers' responses to price, and to establishing an effective pricing strategy.

  • This study identifies communication patterns of groups using synchronous text communication medium for their group decision-making, and examines how these patterns are associated with creative solutions to problems. Our research suggests that certain communication behavior of groups, when appropriately organized, can be of help in enhancing creative production of outcomes. A qualitative study was conducted on communication patterns based on an analysis of text-based electronic conversation protocols. Specifically this research tried to overcome existing studies on electronic groups by focusing on interactive process of communication among participants. The major study conclusion; are: (1) The production of creative outcome may depend on the process or sequence of discussion among group members with synchronous text communication medium. That is, proper interactive responses and appropriate control of the discussion process are essential to obtain a high level of performance. (2) It is importantto make discuss rules based on meta-cognitive and interactive protocols in the early stage. Explicit rules relating to internal group processes as well as communication medium use are even more important to groups with electronic communication medium than face-to-face groups.
