  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of closed kinetic chain exercise using EMG-biofeedback for selective training of the vastus medialis oblique on functional ability and Q-angle in subjects with patellofemoral pain syndrome. Methods: Thirty participants who met the criteria were included in this study. Participants were randomly allocated to the control group (Group I, n=10), closed kinetic chain exercise group (Group II, n=10), and closed kinetic chain exercise using EMG-biofeedback group (Group III, n=10). Intervention was performed in three groups, three times per week, for a period of six weeks. Kujala patellofemoral score and Q-angle were measured before and after the experiment. Results: Some significant differences in kujala patellofemoral score were observed in group II and group III, compared with group I (p<0.01). There was no significant difference on in Q-angle at knee flexion angle $0^{\circ}$. However, some significant differences in Q-angle at knee flexion $60^{\circ}$ were observed in group III, compared with group I (p<0.01). Conclusion: Closed kinetic chain exercise using EMG-biofeedback that provides real-time biometric information on selected muscles in order to increase the efficiency of treatment may be helpful in improvement of functional ability and Q-angle in patellofemoral pain syndrome.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the effects of electromyographic (EMG)-Biofeedback using closed kinetic chain exercise (EB-CKCE) on quadriceps angle (Q-angle) and quadriceps muscle activation and muscle activation ratio in subjects with patellofemoral pain syndrome and to provide fundamental information on rehabilitation exercise in patellofemoral pain syndrome. Methods: Thirty participants who met the criteria were included. The subjects were randomly divided into three groups: control group (Group I, n=10), semi-squat exercise group (Group II, n=10), and EMG-Biofeedback using closed kinetic chain exercise group (Group III, n=10). Intervention was provided to each group for eight weeks (three times per week; 30 minutes per day). Subjects were measured on Q-angle and quadriceps muscle activation. Results: Significant difference in Q-angle and quadriceps muscle activation was observed in groups II and III compared with control group I (p<0.01). Results of post-hoc analysis showed a significant difference in Q-angle and quadriceps muscle activation in on group III compared with groups I and II. Conclusion: Findings of this study suggest that closed kinetic chain exercise using EMG-Biofeedback that provides real-time biofeedback information on muscle contraction may have a beneficial effect on improvement of Q-angle and quadriceps muscle activation in patellofemoral pain syndrome.

  • In this paper we study monotonicity the first eigenvalue for a class of (p, q)-Laplace operator acting on the space of functions on a closed Riemannian manifold. We find the first variation formula for the first eigenvalue of a class of (p, q)-Laplacians on a closed Riemannian manifold evolving by the Ricci-Bourguignon flow and show that the first eigenvalue on a closed Riemannian manifold along the Ricci-Bourguignon flow is increasing provided some conditions. At the end of paper, we find some applications in 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional manifolds.

  • Suppose { $X_{n}$}$_{n=1}$$^{\infty}$ sequence of finite dimensional Banach spaces and suppose that X is either a closed subspace of (equation omitted) or a closed subspace of (equation omitted) with p>2. We show that every bounded linear operator from X to a Banach space Y of cotype q(2$\leq$q〈p) is compact.t.t.

  • A closed subspace J of a Banach space X is called an M-ideal in X if the annihilator $J^\perp$ of J is an L-summand of $X^*$. That is, there exists a closed subspace J' of $X^*$ such that $X^* = J^\perp \oplus J'$ and $\left\$\mid$ p + q \right\$\mid$ = \left\$\mid$ p \right\$\mid$ + \left\$\mid$ q \right\$\mid$$ wherever $p \in J^\perp and q \in J'$.

  • In this paper, we show that the mapping ${\varphi}(x)\;=\;0*x$ is an endomorphism of a Q-algebra X, which induces a congruence relation "~" such that X/$\varphi$ is a medial Q-algebra. We also study some decompositions of ideals in Q-algebras and obtain equivalent conditions for closed ideals. Moreover, we show that if I is an ideal of a Q-algebra X, then $I^g$ is an ignorable ideal of X.

  • An experimental study was carried out to delineate the flow characteristics in a closed countescurrent two-phase thermo syphon with concentric tubes. This is to be installed in the HANARO research reactor as a part of a Cold Neutron Source(CNS). In the present investigation, experiments ata room temperature with Freon-II3 as a moderator were performed. Results show that, based on the magnitude of pressure fluctuation, the flow regimes could be divided into 4 distinct ones in the ($V_f,\;Q_i$) plane, where $V_f$ represents the volume of the charged liquid and $Q_i$ the heat load: a stable flow regime, an oscillatory flow regime, a restablized flow regime and a dryout flow regime. For $V_f$>2.5l, the flow is stable at low $Q_i$. However, as $Q_i$ increases, the flow becomes oscillatory and finally restablizes As $V_f$ increases, the oscillation amplitude decreases, reaching to the restablized flow region at low $Q_i$, and the liquid level in the moderator cell remains high. In the oscillatory flow regimes, for a fixed VI; the oscillating period of time varies with $Q_i$, having a minimum value at a certain value of $Q_i$. The heat load, where the oscillating period of time is minimum, decreases as $V_f$ increases.

  • Let us consider that ${\mathbb{K}}$ be a complete ultrametric algebraically closed field and ${\mathcal{A}}({\mathbb{K}})$ be the ${\mathbb{K}}-algebra$ of entire functions on ${\mathbb{K}}$. In this paper we introduce the notions of (p, q)-th relative order and (p, q)-th relative type of p adic entire functions where p and q are any two positive integers and then study some growth properties of composite p adic entire functions in the light of their (p, q)-th relative order and (p, q)-th relative type. After that we show that (p, q) th relative order and (p, q)-th relative type are remain unchanged for derivatives under some certain conditions.

  • We construct bounded linear integral operators that giving solutions to the ${\bar{\partial}}$-equation in $L^p$-spaces and with compact supports on a q-convex intersection ($q{\geq}1$) with ${\mathcal{C}}^3$ boundary in $K{\ddot{a}}hler$ manifolds, and we apply it to obtain a Hartogs-like extension theorems for ${\bar{\partial}}$-closed forms for some bidegree.
