  • Recently, owing to the rapid growth of the Internet and information technology, the growth of the Internet shopping mall has been truly phenomenal. In the Internet shopping mall, as the customers can't touch a product directly, trust is important factor in purchasing intention. Many researchers proposed direct relationship between the customer trust and the purchasing intention. We supposed that there would be some factors that could be the consequences of trust in on-line purchasing decision, and the factors could be also the determinants of purchasing intention and decision for the Internet shopping mall customers. We found out that there were indirect relationship between them through the customer's attitude, involvement, and royalty to the site rather then directly related. Particularly, the correlation between the site attitude and the purchasing intention was high, but the direct effect was not significant. The site attitude was indirectly related to the purchasing intention through the customer involvement and loyalty. This means that the customer relationship involvement and loyalty enhancement strategies are more important for the success of Internet shopping mall.

  • Previous studies show that working wives in the market contribute to the family economy that affects the family member's behaviors as consumers. Accordingly, the consumer behavior among working wives would be differ form that among nonworking wives. As the number of working wives in the market is increasing, this study focuses on the estimation of the degree of rationality in purchasing decision making among wives in relation to their working status. Therefore, this study attempts to construct an rationality index of a purchasing decision making both at a high and a low involvement situation by working and nonworking wives, and analyzes the differences in the results of the two groups. This study also examines how the rationality indices vary with the selected socioeconomic variables. The data are obtained from self-administered questionnaires from a sample of 217 working and 191 nonworking wives at Seoul and Seongnam in 1986. The statistical methods used in this study are Factor Analysis, Multiple Regression, and Analysis of Variances. The major findings of this study are as follows; 1) The mean value of the rationality index among nonworking wives is higher than that among working wives. Under a high involvement situation, the mean value of the rationality index among working wives is negative. Therefore, it is likely that nonworking wives make purchasing decisions more rationally than working wives. 2) The higher the degree of wive's education, the more rational the purchasing decision making. Under a low involvement situation, the higher the monthly family income, the more rational the purchasing decision making . under the same situation, the shorter the duration of marriage , the more rational the purchasing decision making. 3) Under a low involvement situation, the rationality indices of working wives vary with their occupations. The rationality indices among those in selling and service jobs are lower than those among those in professional jobs. 4) The impact of the selected socio-economic variables on the degree of the rationality in purchasing decision making differs depending on whether the wife is working or not. Under a low involvement situation, the positive impact of the monthly family income on the rationality in purchasing decision making is stronger among nonworking wives than among working wives. Under the same situation, the negative impact of the duration of marriage on the rationality is stronger among nonworking wives than among working wives.

Through review of literatures about purchase decision factors, we have derived about attributes of 6 factors. T-test, importance performance analysis (IPA), and regression analysis were conducted to identify priorities among the details of the importance and satisfaction and to analyze the effect relationship between satisfaction of each factor and overall satisfaction. Looking at a few high-priority order, battery capacity, memory capacity, fast and accurate repair, the adequacy of the repair cost, and processor in the top five factors were shown to be an important factor when purchasing smart phones. The results of this study can provide the marketing strategies for smart phone suppliers. • While online shopping has been increased expeditiously, a significant portion of purchasing intention has not been converted into actual purchasing behavior without delay in online space. This study investigates the factors causing a delay in online purchasing decision even after purchasing intention has been formed. It identifies the uncertainty variables (information, psychological, and preference uncertainties) related to consumer needs and the situational variables (time pressure and past purchase experience) surrounding the purchasing transaction. Furthermore, the need for cognitive closure is proposed to moderate the relationships between uncertainty/situational variables and the purchasing behavior. The results show that the uncertainties and situational factors significantly influence purchasing delay. Also, the need for cognitive closure indeed works as a moderator between the uncertainty variables and the purchasing behavior. Practical and academic implications of these findings are also discussed.

  • The Y generation born between 1981 and 1995 is the largest consumer group in the United States. This study is to provide an insight of understanding Y generation's decision factors of purchasing Jeans and the fit issues. This study investigated their purchasing decisions factors, including fit, cost, brand, color, and the media/internet influences. It is revealed that the Y generation might have access to the internet, but they still rely more on their peers and savvy skills to decide what they purchase. They preferred to shop from the land based retail stores rather than the internet. The fit was the most important factor of their purchasing decision, but less concerns of the brand. In this study, 87% of them chose "fit" as the reason to buy a pair of jeans. Fit problems were related to the price category. This study suggests apparel manufacturers should understand Y generation's fit issues in the global market.
