A Study on the Electrical Characteristics with Design Parameters in 1,200 V Trench Gate Field Stop IGBT (1,200 V급 Trench Gate Field Stop IGBT 소자의 전기적 특성 향상 방안에 관한 연구)

  • IGBT (insulated gate bipolar transistor) have received wide attention because of their high current conduction and good switching characteristics. To reduce the power loss of IGBT, the on state voltage drop should be lowered and the switching time should be shorted. However, there is Trade-off between the breakdown voltage and the on state voltage drop. To achieving good electrical characteristics, field stop IGBT (FS IGBT) is proposed. In this paper, 1,200 V planar gate non punch-through IGBT (planar gate NPT IGBT), planar gate FS IGBT and trench gate FS IGBT is designed and optimized. The simulation results are compared with each three structures. In results, we optain optimal design parameters and confirm excellence of trench gate FS IGBT. Experimental result by using medici, shows 40% improvement of on state voltage drop.

Development of an Automated Progressive Design System for Manufacturing Product with Multi Processes, Piercing, Bending, and Deep Drawing (복합공정(피어싱, 벤딩, 디프드로잉)을 갖는 제품 제조를 위한 프로그레시브 설계 자동화 시스템 개발)

  • This paper describes a research work of developing an automated progressive design system for manufacturing the product with multi processes such as piercing, bending, and deep drawing. An approach to the system for progressive working is based on the knowledge-based rules. Knowledge for the system is formulated from plasticity theories, experimental results and the empirical knowledge of field experts. The system consists of three main modules, which are shape treatment, strip layout, and die layout modules. Based on knowledge-based rules, the system is designed considering several factors, such as material and thickness of a product, piercing, bending and deep drawing sequence, and the complexities of the blank geometry and punch profiles. It generates the strip layout drawing for an automobile product. Die design for each process is carried out through the die layout module from the results of the strip layout module. Results obtained using the modules enable the designers for manufacturing products with multi processes to be more efficient in this field.

  • The fuel cell is a very promising power generation system combining the benefits of extremely low emissions, high efficiency, ease of maintenance and durability. In order to promote the commercialization of fuel cells, a flexible forming process, in which a hyper-elastic rubber is adopted as a medium to transmit forming pressure, is suggested as an efficient and cost effective manufacturing method for fuel cell bipolar plates. In this study, the ability of this flexible forming process to produce the micro channel arrays on metallic bipolar plates was first demonstrated experimentally. Then, a finite element (FE) model was built and validated through comparisons between simulated and experimental results. The effects of key process parameters on the forming performance such as applied load and punch velocity were investigated. As a result, appropriate process parameter values allowing high dimensional accuracy without failure were suggested.

  • Flexibly-reconfigurable roll forming (FRRF) is a novel sheet metal forming technology conducive to produce multi-curvature surfaces by controlling strain distribution along longitudinal direction. Reconfigurable rollers could be arranged to implement a kind of punch die set. By utilizing these reconfigurable rollers, desired curved surface can be formed. In FRRF process, three-dimensional surface is formed from two-dimensional curve. Thus, it is difficult to predict the forming result. In this study, a regression analysis was suggested to construct a predictive model for a longitudinal curvature of FRRF process. To facilitate investigation, input parameters affecting the longitudinal curvature of FRRF were determined as maximum compression value, curvature radius in the transverse direction, and initial blank width. Three-factor three-level full factorial experimental design was utilized and 27 experiments using FRRF apparatus were performed to obtain sample data of the regression model. Regression analysis was carried out using experimental results as sample data. The model used for regression analysis was a quadratic nonlinear regression model. Determination factor and root mean square root error were calculated to confirm the conformity of this model. Through goodness of fit test, this regression predictive model was verified.

  • This study was carried out to verify grinding performance of dental diamond bur and investigate the possibility of AE application in dentistry field. Workpieces were made of acryl and bovine respectively for the experiments in this study. Grinding test was conducted to get the data of grinding resistance and specific grinding energy of four different types of diamond bur by using tool dynamometer. AE signal was acquired to verify grinding process in the AE measuring system. Tool wear was observed to find parameters about grinding characteristics of diamond bur by means of SEM picture. It was found that the wear of dental diamond bur could be detected with polishing of grinding material, removal of adhesive parts, wear of particles neighboring cutting nose, loss of material and elevation of temperature. The wear of B, C, D type diamond bur is due to wear and fracture of grain size. Abnormal state can be found through the behavior of AE signal in the grinding working. As a result, it is expected that forecast of abnormal state is possible using AE equipments under real time process.

  • This paper describes a numerical analysis of a non-steady state porthole die extrusion, which is useful for manufacturing long tubes with a hollow section. Materials divided through several portholes are gathered within a chamber and are then welded under high pressure. This weldability classifies the quality of tube products and is affected by process variables and die shapes. However, porthole die extrusion has been executed based on the experience of experts, due to the complicated die assembly and the complexity of metal flow. In order to better assist the design of die and to obtain improvement of productivity, non-steady state 3D FE simulation of porthole die extrusion is required. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the behavior of metal flow and to determine the welding pressure of hot extrusion products under various billet temperatures, bearing length, and tube thickness by FE analysis. The results of FE analysis are compared with those of experiments.

  • Titanium alloy sheets have excellent specific strength and corrosion resistance as well as good performance at high temperature. Recently, titanium alloys are widely employed not only for aerospace parts but also for bio prothesis and motorcycle. However, the database is insufficient in the titanium alloy for press forming process. In this study, the effect of temperature on the forming limit diagram was investigated for Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy sheet through the Hecker‘s punch stretching test at elevated temperature. Experimental results obtained in this study can provide a database for the development of press forming process at elevated temperature of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy sheet. From the experimental studies it can be concluded that the formability of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy sheet is governed by the ductile failure for the testing temperature. The formability of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy sheet at $700^{\circ}C$ increases about 7 times compared with that at room temperature.

  • The consciousness and food preference of Korean foods by high school girls in Kwangju city and Chonnam area was surveryed by questionnaire. The results were as follows; 1. Although the cooking methods of Korean foods were scientific(63.8%), they have to be improved because of complication and difficulty. The point of improvement in the urban area was cooing method but that in the rural area was nutrition and hygiene 2. The motives of hav8ing interest in korean tradition foods were through home life and school education, mass communication and etc. As the subjects live in more urban area and have high income level, they were affected by school education and mass communication. 3. They are used to eat both traditional and nontraditional foods on the korean festive days and annual functions. There is tendency to decrease the use of traditional foods gradually because of complicated their cooking methods and long cooking time. 4. Most household responded that Korean traditional food are must to succession development (52.9%), because of succeed to korean diet culture and suit one’s taste. The more pride of traditional food are kimchi, rice cake, sweet rice drink, persimmon punch, sweet waxy rice cooked potherbs. 5. The preference about the korean foods were high in this order of chopsuey, mandu, laver, shikhae, cooked waxy rice. And they were low in salted anchovies salted yellow convina liver cheon, oyster cheon.

Successful Treatment of a Case with Rhino-Orbital-Cerebral Mucormycosis by the Combination of Neurosurgical Intervention and the Sequential Use of Amphotericin Band Posaconazole

  • Rhino-orbital-cerebral (ROC) mucormycosis is an uncommon, acute and aggressive fungal infection. It remains a challenging problem to clinicians despite aggressive debridement surgery and antifungal therapy. The authors describe a case of ROC mucormycosis with pericranial abscess occurring in a female patient with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. The infection initially developed in the right-sided nasal sinus and later progressed through the paranasal sinuses with the invasion of the peri-orbital and frontotemporal region, due to the delayed diagnosis and treatment. Numerous non-septate hyphae of the zygomycetes were identified by a punch biopsy from the nasal cavity and by an open biopsy of the involved dura. The patient was treated successfully with extensive debridement of her necrotic skull and surrounding tissues, drainage of her pericranial abscess and antifungal therapy, including intravenous amphotericin B for 61 days and oral posaconazole for the following 26 days. She returned to a normal life and has had no recurrence since the end of her treatment 15 months ago.
