  • This study evaluates the adsorption properties of Sr ions in an aqueous solution of the synthetic zeolite (Z-Y1) prepared using coal fly ash generated from a thermal power plant. In order to investigate the adsorption characteristics, the effects of various parameters such as the initial concentrations of Sr ion, contact time, and solution pH were investigated in a batch mode. The Langmuir and Redlich-Peterson model fitted the adsorption isotherm data better than the Freundlich model. The maximum adsorption capacity of Sr ions, as determined the Langmuir model, was 181.68 mg/g. It was found that by varying the Sr ion concentration, pH, and temperature, the pseudo-second-order kinetic model describes the adsorption kinetics of the Sr ion better than the pseudo-first-order kinetic model. The calculated thermodynamic parameters of ${\Delta}H^0$ and ${\Delta}G^0$ showed that the adsorption of Sr ions on Z-Y1 was occurred through a spontaneous and an endothermic reaction. We found that the adsorption of Sr ions by Z-Y1 was more affected by pH than by temperature and Sr ion concentration.

  • The aim of this work was to investigate the adsorption isotherm and kinetic model for the biosorption of lead $(Pb^{2+})$ by Rhodotorula aurantiaca and to examine the environmental factors for this metal removal. Within five minutes of contact, $Pb^{2+}$ sorption reached nearly 86% of the total $Pb^{2+}$ sorption. The optimum initial pH value for removal of $Pb^{2+}$ was 5.0. The percentage sorption increased steeply with the biomass concentration up to 2 g/l and thereafter remained more or less constant. The Langmuir sorption model provided a good fit throughout the concentration range. The conformity of these data to the Langmuir model indicated that biosorption of $Pb^{2+}$ by R. aurantiaca could be characterized as a monolayer, single-site type phenomenon with no interaction between ions adsorbed in neighboring sites. The maximum $Pb^{2+}$ sorption capacity $(q_{max})$ and Langmuir constant (b) were 46.08 mg/g of biomass and 0.04 l/mg, respectively. The pseudo second-order equation was well fitted to the experimental data. The correlation coefficients for the linear plots of t/q against t for the second-order equation were 0.999 for all the initial concentrations of biosorbent for contact times of 180 min. The theoretical $q_{eq}$ value was very close to the experimental $q_{eq}$ value.

  • In this paper, GUI program for microspeaker system simulation program was developed and verified through closed box, vent box and 6th order bandpass enclosure system. By using the pseudo loudspeaker model concept, TS parameters and rear volume of microspeaker were identified. Their suitabilities were proved by comparing test results with simulations of electrical impedance and sound pressure response curves for the three box types; closed box, vent box and 6th order bandpass box. Also, MSSP was found to be effective regardless of the microspeaker's shape, either circular or rectangular shape. MSSP can be used for the microspeaker system simulation, and can give a general prediction of such as; sound pressure level curve, electrical impedance, diaphragm velocity and displacement curve according to multiple design parameters; diaphragm mass, compliance, force factor, front and rear volume, front and rear port's diameter and length.

  • In this paper, we consider the higher-order HartreeFock equations. The higher-order linear Schrödinger equation was introduced in [5] as the formal finite Taylor expansion of the pseudorelativistic linear Schrödinger equation. In [13], the authors established global-in-time Strichartz estimates for the linear higher-order equations which hold uniformly in the speed of light c ≥ 1 and as their applications they proved the convergence of higher-order Hartree-Fock equations to the corresponding pseudo-relativistic equation on arbitrary time interval as c goes to infinity when the Taylor expansion order is odd. To achieve this, they not only showed the existence of solutions in L2 space but also proved that the solutions stay bounded uniformly in c. We address the remaining question on the convergence of higherorder Hartree-Fock equations when the Taylor expansion order is even. The distinguished feature from the odd case is that the group velocity of phase function would be vanishing when the size of frequency is comparable to c. Owing to this property, the kinetic energy of solutions is not coercive and only weaker Strichartz estimates compared to the odd case were obtained in [13]. Thus, we only manage to establish the existence of local solutions in Hs space for s > $\frac{1}{3}$ on a finite time interval [-T, T], however, the time interval does not depend on c and the solutions are bounded uniformly in c. In addition, we provide the convergence result of higher-order Hartree-Fock equations to the pseudo-relativistic equation with the same convergence rate as the odd case, which holds on [-T, T].

  • The satellite sensor model is typically established using ground control points acquired by ground survey Of existing topographic maps. In some cases where the targeted area can't be accessed and the topographic maps are not available, it is difficult to obtain ground control points so that geospatial information could not be obtained from satellite image. The paper presents several satellite sensor models and satellite image decomposition methods for non-accessible area where ground control points can hardly acquired in conventional ways. First, 10 different satellite sensor models, which were extended from collinearity condition equations, were developed and then the behavior of each sensor model was investigated. Secondly, satellite images were decomposed and also pseudo images were generated. The satellite sensor model extended from collinearity equations was represented by the six exterior orientation parameters in 1$^{st}$, 2$^{nd}$ and 3$^{rd}$ order function of satellite image row. Among them, the rotational angle parameters such as $\omega$(omega) and $\phi$(phi) correlated highly with positional parameters could be assigned to constant values. For non-accessible area, satellite images were decomposed, which means that two consecutive images were combined as one image. The combined image consists of one satellite image with ground control points and the other without ground control points. In addition, a pseudo image which is an imaginary image, was prepared from one satellite image with ground control points and the other without ground control points. In other words, the pseudo image is an arbitrary image bridging two consecutive images. For the experiments, SPOT satellite images exposed to the similar area in different pass were used. Conclusively, it was found that 10 different satellite sensor models and 5 different decomposed methods delivered different levels of accuracy. Among them, the satellite camera model with 1$^{st}$ order function of image row for positional orientation parameters and rotational angle parameter of kappa, and constant rotational angle parameter omega and phi provided the best 60m maximum error at check point with pseudo images arrangement.

  • In this paper, we propose the image encryption method which gradually uses NFSR(Non-linear Feedback Shift Register) and 20 CAT(Two-Dimensional Cellular Automata Transform). The encryption method is processed in the following order. First, NFSR is used to create a PN(pseudo noise) sequence, which matches the size of the original image. Then, the created sequence goes through a XOR operation with the original image and process the encipherment. Next, the gateway value is set to produce a 20 CAT basis function. The produced basis function is multiplied by encryption image that has been converted to process the 20 CAT encipherment. Lastly, the results of the experiment which are key space analysis, entropy analysis, and sensitivity analysis verify that the proposed method is efficient and very secure.

  • In order to develop a Korean traditional rice wine which by acasia flower added alcohol fermentation was investigated by addition of 5%, 10'h, 15% nuruk and 10% acasia into the wine mash. The maximum amount of ethanol (16.4%) was obtained when 10% acasia flower and 15% nuruk were added in cooked rice for the fermentation by Saccharomyces cerevisiae at $25^{\circ}C$ for 20 days. The overall acceptability and physiological functionalities of the rice wine prepared by addition of different concentration (5-50%) of acasia flower into mash were investigated and compared. The A-15 rice wine which was brewed by addition of 15% acasia flower into mash showed the best acceptability. Its angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitory activity and tyrosinase inhibitory activity were 80.3% and 94.2%, respectively. The electron-donating ability (23.4%) and nitrite scavenging activity (21.5%) were also higher than those of traditional rice wine.

  • In this paper, air pollutant tracing models using perceptron neural network(PNN) and non-negative least square(NNLS) are proposed. When the measured values of the air pollution and the contribution concentration of each source by chemical transport modeling are given, they estimate and trace the amount of the air pollutants emission from each source. Two kinds of emissions data are used in the experiments : CH4 and N2O of Geumgo-dong landfill greenhouse gas, and PM10 of 17 areas in Northeast Asia and eight regions of the Korean Peninsula. Emission values were calculated using pseudo inverse method, PNN and NNLS. Pseudo inverse method could be used for the model, but it may have negative emission values. In order to deal with the problem, we used the PNN and NNLS methods. As a result, the estimation using the NNLS is closer to the measured values than that using PNN. The proposed tracing models have better utilization and generalization than those of conventional pseudo inverse model. It could be used more efficiently for air quality management and air pollution reduction.

  • This paper proposes a Hybrid Random PWM(HRPWM) technique using a LF2407 DSP board in order to spread the power spectra of an induction motor. The proposed method is composed to the PRBS (Pseudo-Random Binary Sequence) with the Lead-Lag random bit and the random triangular carrier for the logical comparison. Also, a DSP generates the random number, the PRBS and the three-phase reference signal, a MAX038 chip operating as frequency modulator generates the random triangular carrier. For verification of the proposed method, the experiments were conducted with a three-phase adjustable speed a.c drives, and the results of simulations and experiments are presented.
