  • Learner-centered approach has been a recent research focus in the second language acquisition, but few studies have dealt with how to develop learner autonomy, particularly in a computer-assisted language learning environment. The paper first illustrates the importance of promoting learner autonomy in the EFL context and elaborates the three main factors contributing to its development. Then it focuses on how the CALL research project promotes autonomous learning through a small-scale study in Gyeongju University. Both quantitative and qualitative methods have been employed to examine whether in the CALL project learners exercise control over their own learning and evaluate the outcome. The results indicate that due to a flexible syllabus, highly motivating research topics and the network-assisted environment, learners do take responsibility for most aspects of learning and thus the CALL project proves to be a promising approach for autonomous learning.

  • The purpose of this study is followings. First, we develop and apply teaching and learning methods for conducting team projects in flipped calculus class. Second we collect data such as team reports, individual reviews, and surveys during class activities. Third we survey the impacts on participation in student team activities, advanced studying, communication and collaboration. A total of 120 engineering and science majoring students participated in the 16-week long class study administered in team project learning styles in Spring 2018. There were two characteristics of this class. First students studied concepts and examples with video in pre-class and did the team project learning in the classroom. Second we used Google Drive to record team project progress, and to make sure the instructor to intervene appropriately in team activities. We conducted a team project inside and outside the classroom. This could lead the instructor to advise students and so their participation in team activity increased. As a result, it not only had a good effect on communication and cooperation, but also had an effect on advanced learning.

  • The qualities that are commonly necessary in the occupation life and the abilities to cope with the changing job-world are getting more important. This study proposed the project-learning model and applied it to the homepage-developing learning of the computer course in the commercial high school. Then, this study conducted the nonrandomized controlgroup pretest - posttest design in order to verify how the model influence Information-skills of Key-competencies. At the posttest, the difference between the traditional learning group and project-learning was meaningful. Therefore, It can be confirmed that project-learning was more affirmative in enhancing information-skills of the students. Through this study, it can be concluded that the instructional method is very important and we propose there be a lot of studies about the instructional methods enhancing the various Key-competencies.

  • Along the information technology progresses, the demand for the educational application increases which derives the need for cyber education. Cyber education should take the knowledge construction model rather than the knowledge delivery model. For the educational paradigm shift by cyber education, 'Project-Based Learning' and 'Cyber Learning Community' need to be adopted. In this study, project-based cyber learning community for teacher education is developed with 5 major categories: Home(community vision, general information, project list, Q&A), project learning center(preparation for the instructional activities, group-based learning activities, presentations), meeting plaza(request for group mentoring, sharing ideas, meeting specialist, survey participating, forum participating, result presentation), references(cases of project studies, materials for project studies, materials for teacher education, general materials), management(project management, project cases, idea bank, finding partners, dialog with instructors, sharing references, sharing experiences, survey, forum).

  • In spite of the fact that project-based learning has had positive effects on improvement of creation power and expansion of the spirit of inquiry, the project-based learning lesson was difficult to carry out in the classroom. The web overcomes time and space limitations in traditional schools. This study has developed and implemented an online project-based website of children's education, based upon the extensive classroom use of multimedia materials to further students participation and interest in projects of discovery. The developed website shows the entire process used through out the project. This paper presents the project's activities and students' learning, using multimedia and web. This study was conducted in fourth grade of an elementary school for a month. The results of this study suggest that the effects of using the project-based website were improved self-directed learning and generation of new ideas.

  • This study has designed to find out the effects of a project-based flipped learning model at universities on the self-directed learning ability, the self-leadership, and the learning competency. For the study, two procedures were performed. First, a flipped learning model for a project-based learning was developed on the basis of the literature reviews. The flipped learning model has three different steps: the pre-class, the in-class, and the post-class. In the pre-class, instructors provide mini-core courses using various technologies for learners outside the class. The in-class is the step to check whether learners prepare their learning or not. Also, in this step, the in-death learning and the teaching-learning process by interaction between instructors and learners would be performed. In the post-class, learners would be able to sustain the extended learning to develop the learning tasks and activities after flipped learning class. Through this step, the learners could be experienced integrated thinking and application, documentation and management, as well as sharing and spread of their learning. Second, the effectiveness of the developed flipped learning model on the self-direction, the self-leadership, and the learning competency was examined. The quantitative research method and the qualitative research method were used for this study. The results indicated that the flipped learning model showed improvement on the self-direction, the self-leadership, and the learning competency.

  • With the development of new digital technologies, research on various learning tools is being actively conducted. These learning tools are also being developed so that they can be applied to various environments by applying the technology of artificial intelligence or using smart functions to which big data technology is applied. These smart learning tools are contributing a lot to increasing educational effectiveness and learning efficiency. Recently, various learning tools have been applied in universities, and solutions for smart learning from smart attendance are introduced to improve student learning efficiency. This study intends to propose a design for a smart learning tool that can increase the efficiency of project progress and increase the scalability of the results when conducting a company's customized project through such a university's smart learning tool. The proposed smart learning tool is expected to have the advantage of being able to easily adapt to the practical business project as the company-customized projects that can improve practical skills are smoothly used as a learning tool. The proposed project-based smart learning tool model is later built as a related LMS and applied to actual project progress to check its utility, and to revise and supplement the proposed smart learning tool model to provide a project-based smart learning function want to strengthen.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to design and implement an efficient Web- based Project Learning System(WPLS) in particular for the interactive of an elementary school children. The WPLS in this paper has four main parts ; user interface, learner module, administrator module and database. This system was implemented in accordance with the project themes solving learning processes. So the learner module consists of five steps ; project theme proposal, project plan, project execution, web-publishing, and project test. WPLS can improve student`s ICT using ability and academic achievement.
