A Strategy on Rice Production of Korea under New round System in WTO (뉴라운드 대비 쌀 생산 기술 전략)

  • This paper was studied on a strategy in rice production under New round system of WTO(World Trade Organization) in Korea. Under enactment of New round system in WTO rice will be opened at the world market and thus rice growers will compete with this marketing system. In this regard, rice industry in Korea would be "a theory of rice triangle" such as high quality, low cost, and environmental friendly system. High quality rice would be obtained through a cultivar, cultivation technology, and quality control(QC) to compete against oversea's dealer. Lower cost in rice production should be concentrated into rapid decrease in rural population and into introducing for young generation. Rice cultivation has been played major role in this peninsula in terms of a preservation of water resource, fresh air and prevention of soil erosion.

  • Recently, researches on all-electric subsea system have been in progress. This paper describes a subsea tree using a lot of electrical signal and subsea control system. The way of subsea control is classified as all-electric systems or electro hydraulic systems. One of that has more merits in terms of cost, weight, power consumption, etc. because it uses electric signal instead of hydraulic signal. This paper describes the difference of each system's power consumption and simulation. As the result, if each system applies the same number of sensors, actuators, etc. The power consumption of all-electric system's load is less than at least 400kWh/day compared to the electro hydraulic system load.

  • Korean industries have been tend to depending upon historical information to control risk. The other hand, foreign industries have been identify risk factors using system safety techniques to predict future risk. One agency or person could not solve the problems of total safety system for improving productivity. In order to solve those problems, the production-safety group is necessary, and safety control system must be adapted by fitting to the production flow. This paper is present the methodology of driving occupational safety programs to increase productivity.

  • This paper presents an effective modeling and simulation scheme of solar-powered hydrogen production system (PV-SPE: Photovoltaic Solid Polymer Electrolyte). Existing Hydrogen production technologies can produce vast amounts of hydrogen from hydrocarbons but emit large amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. Advanced hydrogen production methods need development. Renewable technologies such as solar and wind need further development for hydrogen production to be more cost-competitive from other resources. In this paper, authors have focused on a renewable technology to move one step further toward commercial readiness of solar-powered hydrogen production system. Software (PSCAD/EMTDC) based model of PV-SPE system is studied for an effective simulation of hydrogen production system. Using the simulation results, an actual PV-SPE system is implemented to verify the simulation results by comparing them with actual values obtained from the data acquisition system.

  • This paper deals with the control of system with controlled jump Markov disturbances. A such formulation was used by Boukas to model the planning production and maintenance of a FMS with failure machines. The optimal control problem of systems with controlled jump Markov process is addressed. This problem describes the planning production and preventive maintenance of production systems. The optimality conditions in both cases finite and infinite horizon, are derived. A numerical example is presented to validate the proposed results.

  • A subsea chemical injection system treats blockage problems in a subsea production system. It is important to treat problems quickly, because production delays cause fatal profit losses in a subsea production system. Therefore, the subsea industry requires a relatively higher reliability level for a production system compared to other industries. In this study, a subsea chemical injection system (linked to a control system) to inject chemicals into a subsea X-mas tree was analyzed. By using FSA (Formal Safety Assessment), the risk factors were defined and a quantitative risk analysis utilizing FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) and ETA (Event Tree Analysis) was performed. As a result, the effectiveness of a risk reduction option was evaluated.

  • The traditional Kanban needs a lot of preconditions for fitting conditions of dynamic production processing environment. The traditional Kanban isn't suitable conditions of dynamic production processing environment. Therefore conditions of dynamic production processing environment is needed more stable system. This study is describe CONWIP system such as suitable in dynamic production processing environment. Most Pull system is a Kanban system than use Kanban cards or signal for production management and inventory control. The object of Kanban system is reducing inventory between shop-floor that can reduce inventiry cost. If the system reduce the number of Kanban cards would be reduce the working process WIP, can be reduced and can be found all potential problem of production between shop-floors. This study apply to CONWIP system model for Korean industrial companies.

  • This paper is concerned with developing flow control method for a dynamic multistage manufacturing system with interstage buffers and unreliable machines. For the effective control of proposed manufacturing system, the three-level hierarchical scheme is introduced. At the top level, we collect the system data and then, design the buffer sizes and hedging points. Short-term production rates are calculated at the middle level. At the bottom level, actual dispatching times are determined by Clear the Largest Buffer Level rule. The control method utilizes the material and the space in the buffers to alleviate the propagation of a failure to other machines in the system and keeps the production close to demand. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the mathematical control method developed and implemented in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The Records Managers and Archivists Interview of Records Production Report (생산현황통보 제도에 관한 기록전문가 면담 연구)

  • Records management begins at the time of production of the record. Public institutions need control methods and policies to ensure that records are produced and managed properly. Korea introduced the Records production report from the point of time when the Public Records Management Act was enacted to control the records from the production date. However, the Records production report is not operating for that purpose, so records managers and archivists are raising uselessness. In addition, there are differences over whether to keep the system or not, even within the National Archives of Korea. Therefore, the reasons for the existence of this policy, problems in operation, and opinions on alternatives were summarized through interviews with records managers and archivists.

A Study on Actual Conditions and Sizing Systems of Domestic Glove Production Companies (국내 장갑 제조업체의 실태조사 및 치수체계에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to understand problems with both fit and sizing system of gloves by analyzing the glove production industries with an emphasis on the sizing system, production measurement system, and general marking situation. Also, to suggest the basic raw materials for improving sizing system for gloves, actual glove control sizes were compared to the anthropometric data of the previous study Fifteen domestic production companies were participated in this study-Domestic glove production companies established their own sizing system by copying inter-national brand's glove sizing system or by their experience. The Korean Standard of gloves and the 1997 Korean Standard Anthropometrics Measurement for producing glove patterns are not considered because of its discordance with the reality of the required measurements. Domestic glove production companies used different size designation and labeling system. Size measurement unit also showed difference among the glove production companies. Some companies used 'cm', some used 'mm', some used 'inch' for the measurement unit. In general, companies produced 5 to 4 sizes in one design of glove and the production was the highest in M and L size. In 9 out of 15 companies preferred control size as hand length and hand circumference. For reference size, most of the companies preferred finger circumference, finger length, palm length, hand breadth, crotch height, and hand thickness. Actual glove sizes were compared to the anthropometric data of the previous study. The results indicated that most of the measurements of actual glove sizes were significantly larger than the anthropometric data.
