  • When the aspect ratio of a magnet varies, the magnetic field in the magnet also varies. The critical current of a tape-shaped HTS wire varies with the direction and magnitude of applied magnetic field. Consequently when the aspect ration of a HTS magnet varies, the critical current of a HTS magnet varies. This paper shows the relation between the aspect ratio of a magnet and the energy and inductance of a HTS magnet. The critical current is also shown at various aspect ratio of the magnet. The length of the HTS wire, inner diameter of the magnet, and number of pancake are chosen to be variables which varies the shape of the magnet. For a HTS magnet consisting of pancake windings, calculation results show the number of pancake windings are the prime factor which varied the energy and inductance of the magnet. The inner diameter of the magnet varies the energy and inductance of the magnet a little.

  • New family of frequency hopping patterns with long period and good Hamming autocorrelation and Hamming crosscorrelation properties which can be used for frequency hopped multiple access communication systems is introduced. Period of frequency hopping patterns is qk-1, the alphabet size of frequency hopping patterns is q, and the size of family of frequency hopping patterns is q, where k is arbitrary integer and q is power of prime number. The maximum value of out-of-Phase Hamming autocorrelation function of any frequency hopping pattern and Hamming crosscorrelation function of any two frequency hopping patterns in the family is qk-1, which corresponds to optima1 Hamming correlation properties. And the average number of hits per q*q square in one frequency hopping pattern and its time shifted version or two frequency hopping patterns in the frequency hopped multiple access communication systems is less than 1.

  • Cells are designed to be sensitive to a myriad of external cues so they can fulfil their individual destiny as part of the greater whole. A number of well-characterised signalling pathways dictate the cell's response to the external environment and incoming messages. In healthy, well-ordered homeostatic systems these signals are tightly controlled and kept in balance. However, given their powerful control over cell fate, these pathways, and the transcriptional machinery they orchestrate, are frequently hijacked during the development of neoplastic disease. A prime example is the Wnt signalling pathway that can be modulated by a variety of ligands and inhibitors, ultimately exerting its effects through the β-catenin transcription factor and its downstream target genes. Here we focus on the interplay between the three-member family of RUNX transcription factors with the Wnt pathway and how together they can influence cell behaviour and contribute to cancer development. In a recurring theme with other signalling systems, the RUNX genes and the Wnt pathway appear to operate within a series of feedback loops. RUNX genes are capable of directly and indirectly regulating different elements of the Wnt pathway to either strengthen or inhibit the signal. Equally, β-catenin and its transcriptional co-factors can control RUNX gene expression and together they can collaborate to regulate a large number of third party co-target genes.

  • Due to the characteristics of a data stream, it is very important to confine the memory usage of a data mining process regardless of the amount of information generated in the data stream. For this purpose, this paper proposes the Prime pattern tree(PPT) for finding frequent itemsets over data streams with using the confined memory space. Unlike a prefix tree, a node of a PPT can maintain the information necessary to estimate the current supports of several itemsets together. The length of items in a prime pattern can be reduced the total number of nodes and controlled by split_delta $S_{\delta}$. The size and the accuracy of the PPT is determined by $S_{\delta}$. The accuracy is better as the value of $S_{\delta}$ is smaller since the value of $S_{\delta}$ is large, many itemsets are estimated their frequencies. So it is important to consider trade-off between the size of a PPT and the accuracy of the mining result. Based on this characteristic, the size and the accuracy of the PPT can be flexibly controlled by merging or splitting nodes in a mining process. For finding all frequent itemsets over the data stream, this paper proposes a PPT to replace the role of a prefix tree in the estDec method which was proposed as a previous work. It is efficient to optimize the memory usage for finding frequent itemsets over a data stream in confined memory space. Finally, the performance of the proposed method is analyzed by a series of experiments to identify its various characteristics.

  • In mobile ad hoc networks where the communication nodes are moving around, one may perform dynamic routing that can increase the total communication throughput of the network, by determining the ranks of pairs of nodes according to their communication throughput. The balanced Howell rotation is a tournament design scheme for bridge games. This paper explains that the balanced Howell rotation can be applied to enhance the overall communication throughput of mobile ad hoc networks, and proposes and proves the condition under which the balanced Howell rotations may exist.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with $1{\neq}0$, I a proper ideal of R, and m and n positive integers. In this paper, we define I to be a weakly (m, n)-closed ideal if $0{\neq}x^m\;{\in}I$ for $x{\in}R$ implies $x^n{\in}I$, and R to be an (m, n)-von Neumann regular ring if for every $x{\in}R$, there is an $r{\in}R$ such that $x^mr=x^n$. A number of results concerning weakly(m, n)-closed ideals and (m, n)-von Neumann regular rings are given.

  • In this article we first investigate a sort of unit-IFP ring by which Antoine provides very useful information to ring theory in relation with the structure of coefficients of zero-dividing polynomials. Here we are concerned with the whole shape of units and nilpotent elements in such rings. Next we study the properties of unit-IFP rings through group actions of units on nonzero nilpotent elements. We prove that if R is a unit-IFP ring such that there are finite number of orbits under the left (resp., right) action of units on nonzero nilpotent elements, then R satisfies the descending chain condition for nil left (resp., right) ideals of R and the upper nilradical of R is nilpotent.

  • The requirements of a successful design for single phase induction motors with a high efficiency have, in recent years, led to the use of non-quadrature stator windings motors in which a high starting torque is a prime requisite. The capacitor motor is one of above machines in which various possible forms of asymmetry can be occur. These forms of asymmetry in the stator phase windings, encountered in machine designs, are 1) an asymmetrical disposition in space of their magnetic axes, 2) a difference in their effective number of turns, 3) a difference in the distribution of their coil groups per pole and 4) amounts of capacitance of an auxiary winding. In order to apply the effective performance prediction of these form to motors, mading of lower quality-domestic magnetic materials, the analysis and the experimental investigations of its sample motors are described in this paper. The utility of such a motor is demonstrated and it is shown that the effects- a good efficiency, good power factor and high starting torque-of the motor mechanism with non-quadrature stator phase windings can development disadvantages by using the lower quality-domestis magnetic materials.

  • In this article, we show a generalization of Clement's theorem on the pair of primes. For any integers n and k, integers n and n + 2k are a pair of primes if and only if 2k(2k)![(n - 1)! + 1] + ((2k)! - 1)n ${\equiv}$ 0 (mod n(n + 2k)) whenever (n, (2k)!) = (n + 2k, (2k)!) = 1. Especially, n or n + 2k is a composite number, a pair (n, n + 2k), for which 2k(2k)![(n - 1)! + 1] + ((2k)! - 1)n ${\equiv}$ 0 (mod n(n + 2k)) is called a pair of pseudoprimes for any positive integer k. We have pairs of pseudorimes (n, n + 2k) with $n{\leq}5{\times}10^4$ for each positive integer $k(4{\leq}k{\leq}10)$.

  • A graph is $s$-regular if its automorphism group acts regularly on the set of its $s$-arcs. In this paper, the cubic $s$-regular graphs of order 12p, 36p, 44p, 52p, 66p, 68p and 76p are classified for each $s{\geq}1$ and each prime $p$. The number of cubic $s$-regular graphs of order 12p, 36p, 44p, 52p, 66p, 68p and 76p is 4, 3, 7, 8, 1, 4 and 1, respectively. As a partial result, we determine all cubic $s$-regular graphs of order 70p except for $p$ = 31, 41.
