Quantization effects (QEs), which manifests when the device dimensions are comparable to the de Brogile wavelength, are becoming common physical phenomena in the present micro-/nanometer technology era. While most novel devices take advantage of QEs to achieve fast switching speed, miniature size and extremely small power consumption, the mainstream CMOS devices (with the exception of EEPROMs) are generally suffering in performance from these effects. In this paper, an analytical model accounting for the QEs and poly-depletion effects (PDEs) at the silicon (Si)/dielectric interface describing the capacitance-voltage (C-V) and current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of MOS devices with thin oxides is developed. It is also applicable to multi-layer gate-stack structures, since a general procedure is used for calculating the quantum inversion charge density. Using this inversion charge density, device characteristics are obtained. Also solutions for C-V can be quickly obtained without computational burden of solving over a physical grid. We conclude with comparison of the results obtained with our model and those obtained by self-consistent solution of the $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ and Poisson equations and simulations reported previously in the literature. A good agreement was observed between them.

Electric utilities may face new threats with increase in electric vehicles (EVs) in the personal automobile market. The peak demand will increase which may stress the distribution network equipment. The focus of this paper is on an adaptive control of smart household appliances by using an intelligent load management system (ILMS). The main objectives are to accomplish consumer needs and prevent overloading of power grid. The stress from the network is released by limiting the peak demand of a house when it exceeds a certain point. In the proposed strategy, for each smart appliance, the customers will set its order/rank according to their own preferences and then system will control the household loads intelligently for consumer reliability. The load order can be changed at any time by the customer. The difference between the set and actual value for each load's specific parameter will help the utility to estimate the acceptance of this intelligent load management system by the customers.

Recently in accordance with the rapid development of the industrial society, the accidents caused by dielectric breakdown have been increasing in power grid. It is important to prevent the dielectric breakdown of a high voltage apparatus to reduce the damage from electrical hazards. To establish an electrically reliable database of insulation design criteria for high voltage apparatus, a study on dielectric characteristics test is indispensable. In this study, dielectric characteristics according to field utilization factors (${\xi}$) which are represented as the ratio of mean electric field to maximum electric field are investigated. the dielectric breakdown experiments by using several kinds of electrode systems made with stainless steel are performed by AC breakdown voltage under air-insulation. Also, the experimental results are analyzed by the Weibull distribution. As a result, it is found that the dielectric characteristics of air-insulation are determined by ${\xi}$ as well as arrangement of electrode systems. It is considered that the results of this study would be applicable to designing the air-insulated high voltage apparatuses.

Security services that support electric energy service gateway require relatively high reliability. In particular, the application services that accompany communications and data are run organically. Each of the security services should support a secure service platform that supports a secure, scalable life cycle for existing services which should be extends security layer of Universal Middleware such as OSGi platform. In this convergence platform, it is the study of security transfer modular services that allow independent life cycle management of systems through Universal middleware. First, It is modular in terms of energy consumption service and data, enabling real-time operation, communications, remote management and applications. Second, the life cycle of the secure module to support the life cycle of secure, delete, start and updating of the security module by applying the security policy module layer concept. It is modular in terms of power generation and accountability, enabling us to distinguish between reliability and accountability in a large volume of data models in the smart grid, the service was intended to be standardized and applied to the security service platform.

The future battlefield environment has changed platform centric warfare into a network centric warfare. The NCO is a operational concept to improve combat power through information sharing, shared situational awareness, decision making and synchronized action based on powerful network grid. In addition, these operational environment is composed of physical, information, cognitive and social domains. The platform environment system is associated with the OSI 7 layer. However, OSI 7 layer is limited to express NCW environment including cognitive and social domains. Therefore, we requires a new model for expressing cognitive and social domains. After we developed a new model, this model applied to the NCW architecture taxonomy.

There are generated the hundreds of tons of waste electric wire per year due to replace for increase transmission capacity and/or replacement of old electric wire by Korea's national power grid and/or private industrial factories. Recently, the wire recycling technologies studied extensively in terms of effieiency by of economic aspects and environment aspects. In this paper, the patents and papers for the recycling technologies of spent electric wire were collected and analyzed. The range of search was limited in the open patents of USA (US), European Union (EP), Japan (JP), Korea (KR) and SCI journals from 1975 to 2011. Patents and journals were collected using key-words searching and filtered by filtering criteria. The trends of the patents and journals were analyzed by the years, countries, companies, and technologies.

This paper presents the structure of a $\mu$Spring package, its fabrication process and an analysis of its electrical characteristics compared to that of a $\mu$BGA. It was found that both $\mu$BGA and $\mu$Spring packages provide with outstanding high speed signal transmission characteristics due to their lower inductance of package interconnection lines, smaller than half of inductance of TSOP package lines. Even the worst case substrate trace of a Rambus DRAM $\mu$Spring package yields the line inductance of 2.9nH, which provides with 25% margin compared to the Rambus DRAM specification of 4nH. The fabrication cost of $\mu$Spring package is lower than that of $\mu$BGA by 50%, passes 1000 thermal cycles, meets JEDEC Level 1 specification whereas $\mu$BGA does not, and thereby yields high reliability and strong competing power.
Removal of subgingival calculus is essential for the success in periodontal treatment. Subgingival instrumentation is used for the removal of all bacterial plaque and calculus. In this study, two types of anterior curet were used on ant. teeth to conduct subgingival scaling and root planing. The remaining amount of calculus was evaluated according to type of instrument, depth of pocket, and tooth surface. 24 teeth extracted from patients being treated at Dan Kook University dept. Perio. were used. 4 surfaces per tooth a total of 96 areas were evaluated. 12 teeth treated with Gracey No. 1-2 was used as the control group and 12 teeth treated with Mini-five curet No. 1-2 was the experimental group. The 4 surfaces of the teeth {buccal, mesial, lingual or palatal, distal) were observed under a stereomicroscope and the images were captured 3 times per surfaced with a CCD. The image were observed on the monitor using a $10{\times]10$ grid produced with the Microsoft power point. The amount of calculus remaining was evaluated 3 times per surface. The results were as follows. 1. There was no significant difference in remaining calculus according to the pre-treatment pocket depth, and tooth position{Mx. or Mn). 2. The Mini-five curet showed better results than the Gracey curet but there was no statistically significant difference. 3. In both Gracey curet group and Mini-five curet group the lingual(or palatal) surface showed significant difference compared to the other surfaces(p<0.05). From the results above, it is thought that when treating ant. teeth consideration of the tooth surface is more important than the choice of instrument.

CIGS solar cell consisted of various films. In this research, we investigated electrode materials in $Cu(In,Ga)Se_2$ (CIGS) cells, including Al-doped ZnO (ZnO:Al), intrinsic ZnO (i-ZnO), and Al films. The sputtered ZnO:Al film with a sputtering power at 200W showed the lowest series resistance and highest cell efficiency. The electrical resistivity of the 200-W sputtered ZnO:Al film was $5.2{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ by the rapid thermal annealing at $200^{\circ}C$ for 1 min. The electrical resistivity of i-ZnO was not measurable due to its high resistance. But the optical transmittance was highest with less oxygen supply and high efficiency cell was achieved with $O_2/(Ar+O_2)$ ratio was 1% due to the increase of short-circuit current. No significant change in the cell performance by inserting a Ni layer between Al and ZnO:Al films was observed.

It is necessary to select the appropriate global climate model (GCM) to take into account the impacts of climate change on integrated water management. The objective of this study was to develop the selection technique of representative GCMs for uncertainty in climate change scenario. The selection technique which set priorities of GCMs consisted of two steps. First step was evaluating original GCMs by comparing with grid-based observational data for the past period. Second step was evaluating whether the statistical downscaled data reflect characteristics for the historical period. Spatial Disaggregation Quantile Delta Mapping (SDQDM), one of the statistical downscaling methods, was used for the downscaled data. The way of evaluating was using explanatory power, the stepwise ratio of the entire GCMs by Expert Team on Climate Change Detection and Indices (ETCCDI) basis. We used 26 GCMs based on CMIP5 data. The Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) 4.5 and 8.5 scenarios were selected for this study. The period for evaluating reproducibility of historical period was 30 years from 1976 to 2005. Precipitation, maximum temperature, and minimum temperature were used as collected climate variables. As a result, we suggested representative 13 GCMs among 26 GCMs by using the selection technique developed in this research. Furthermore, this result can be utilized as a basic data for integrated water management.
