實測船位의 精度改善에 관한 硏究 (II) -天測位置의 改善- (A Study on the Improvement of Accuracy of the Fixed Position(II))

  • The tedious work, connected to the traditional computation of altitudes and azimuths and the plotting of the position lines, has been a severe objection to celestial fixes. But recently computers have become to be used generally for computations of altitudes and aximuths and the computing objection seems to be practically overruled. Now it seems appropriate to concentrate on other problems which are the procedure of improving accuracy of ship's position and the design of a general computing procedure to determine the coordinates of the optimally estimated ship's position. In this paper, such procedures as an application of Kalman filter and the results of the Digital simulation conducted under various noise conditiions are presented. The positions estimated by Kalman filter are compared with the running fixes and the most probable positions obtained from a single position line, and it is confirmed that the resutls of the proposed method is evidently accurate than others.

L-모멘트 및 LH-모멘트 기법에 의한 적정 설계홍수량의 유도( I ) - L-모멘트법을 중심으로 - (Derivation of Optimal Design Flood by L-Moments and LB-Moments ( I ) - On the method of L-Moments -)

  • This study was conducted to derive optimal design floods by Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) distribution for the annual maximum series at ten watersheds along Han, Nagdong, Geum, Yeongsan and Seomjin river systems. Adequacy for the analysis of flood data used in this study was established by the tests of Independence, Homogeneity, detection of Outliers. L-coefficient of variation, L-skewness and L-kurtosis were calculated by L-moment ratio respectively. Parameters were estimated by the Methods of Moments and L-Moments. Design floods obtained by Methods of Moments and L-Moments using different methods for plotting positions in GEV distribution were compared by the Relative Mean Errors(RME) and Relative Absolute Errors(RAE). The results were analyzed and summarized as follows. 1. Adequacy for the analysis of flood data was acknowledged by the tests of Independence, Homogeneity and detection of Outliers. 2. GEV distribution used in this study was found to be more suitable one than Pearson type 3 distribution by the goodness of fit test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and L-Moment ratios diagram in the applied watersheds. 3. Parameters for GEV distribution were estimated using Methods of Moments and L-Moments. 4. Design floods were calculated by Methods of Moments and L-Moments in GEV distribution. 5. It was found that design floods derived by the method of L-Moments using Weibull plotting position formula in GEV distribution are much closer to those of the observed data in comparison with those obtained by method of moments using different formulas for plotting positions from the viewpoint of Relative Mean Errors and Relative Absolute Errors.

In view of the fact that hydraulic structures indcluding dams and levees are generally usiong design floods with the return period of two hundred years or so, design floods derived by LH-Moments are seemed to be more reasonable than those of L-Moments in the GEV distribution.

Maritime radar display unit based on PC for safe ship navigation

  • A prototype radar display unit was implemented using inexpensive off-the-shelf components, including a nonlinear estimation algorithm for the target tracking in a clutter environment. Two custom designed boards; an analog signal processing board and a DSP board, can be plugged into an expansion slot of a personal computer (PC) to form a maritime radar display unit. Our system provided all the functionality specified in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) resolution A422(XI). The analog signal processing board was used for A/D conversion as well as rain and sea clutter suppression. The main functions of the DSP board were scan conversion and video overlay operations. A host PC was used to run the tracking algorithm of targets in clutter, using the discrete-time Bayes optimal (nonlinear, and non-Gaussian) estimation method, and the graphic user interface (GUI) software for Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA). The proposed tracking method recursively found the entire probability density function of the target position and velocity by converting into linear convolution operations.

군운용 환경에 적합한 GPS 센서기반 주행궤적 측정 및 분석 기술 (The Driving Trajectory Measurement and Analysis Techniques using Conventional GPS Sensor for the Military Operation Environments)

  • The techniques for driving trajectory calculation and driving trajectory distribution calculation are proposed to analyze the durability of ground vehicles effectively. To achieve this aim, the driving trajectory of a vehicle and the driving trajectory distribution of that are needed, in addition to road profile. The road profiles can be measured by a profilometer but a driving trajectory of a vehicle cannot be acquired effectively due to a large position error from a conventional GPS sensor. Therefore two techniques are proposed to reduce the position error of a vehicle and achieve the distribution of driving trajectory of that. The driving trajectory calculation technique produces relative positions by using the velocity, time and heading of a vehicle. The driving trajectory distribution calculation technique produces distributions of the driving trajectory by using axis transformation, estimating reference line, dividing sectors and plotting a histogram of the sectors. As a results of this study, we can achieve the considerably accurate driving trajectory and driving trajectory distribution of a vehicle.

Optimization of the Gain Parameters in a Tracking Module for ARPA system on Board High Dynamic Warships

  • The tracking filter plays a key role in the accurate estimation and prediction of maneuvering a vessel's position and velocity when attempting to enhance safety by avoiding collision. Therefore, in order to achieve accurate estimation and prediction, many oceangoing vessels are equipped with the Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA) system. However, the accuracy of prediction depends on the tracking filter's ability to reduce noise and maintain a stable transient response. The purpose of this paper is to derive the optimal values of the gain parameters used in tracking a High Dynamic Warship. The algorithm employs a ${\alpha}-{\beta}-{\gamma}$ filter to provide accurate estimates and updates of the state variables, that is, positions, velocity and acceleration of the high dynamic warship based on previously observed values. In this study, the filtering coefficients ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ and ${\gamma}$ are determined from set values of the damping parameter, ${\xi}$. Optimization of the damping parameter, ${\xi}$, is achieved experimentally by plotting the residual error against different values of the damping parameter to determine the least value of the damping parameter that results in the optimum smoothing coefficients leading to a reduction in the noise corruption effect. Further investigation of the performance of the filter indicates that optimal smoothing coefficients depend on the initial and average velocity of the target.

항로표지용 AIS 및 RTU가 부착된 부유식 등부표의 이출위치 연구 (A Study on the Separated Position of Floating Light Buoy Equipment with AtoN AIS and RTU)

  • 해상에 설치된 등부표는 기상, 통항선박에 의해 생성된 외력 등에 영향을 받아 위치가 항상 유동적이다. 등부표의 위치는 항로표지용 AIS와 RTU를 통해 확인 가능하다. 본 연구는 최근 5년간(2017-2021년) 등부표의 위치데이터를 분석하여 등부표의 최대 이출위치를 분석하였다. 연구결과 등부표의 위치데이터는 기본오류가 17.9%가 존재하였다. 또한 분석대상 등부표 197기의 이출위치 오류는 70.64%이고, 장비별로는 항로표지용 AIS 보다는 RTU가 심하였다. 한편, 등부표의 위치데이터를 플로팅한 결과 4가지 유형으로 구분되었다. 가장 일반적인 침추중심형, 침추를 중심으로 위치가 2개 구역으로 구분되는 침추중심 2분형, 중심이 변동된 중심 이동형 그리고 일정기간 위치가 중심을 벗어나는끌림형이다. 침추중심형(유형-1)을 제외하고는 등부표가 설치된 위치에 따라 유형이 결정되었다. 본 연구는 등부표의 위치데이터를 분석한 첫번째 연구로서 본 연구가 등부표 위치데이터의 품질 향상에 기여하기를 기대한다.

오프라인 프로그래밍에서 스카라 로봇의 보정 (SCARA robot calibration on off-line programming)

  • Off-line programming systems are widely spread in assembly lines of minute electronic products to huge offshore structures. Any OLP system has to be calibrated before the on-line robot tasks are performed because there are inherent differences between the CAD model on OLP and the real robot workspace. This paper uses simple geometric expressions to propose a calibration method applicable to an OLP for SCARA robots. A positioning task on the two-dimensional horizontal surface was used in the error analysis of a SCARA robot and the anaysis shows that the inaccuracy results from the two error sources non-zero offset angles of two rotational joints at the zero return and differences in link lengths. Pen marks on a sheet of plotting paper are used to determine the accurate data on the joint centers and link dimensions. The calculated offset angles and link lengths are fed back to the OLP for the calibration of the CAD model of the robot and task environments.

  • Input data play an important role in numerical analyses. However, it is difficult to obtain appropriate data for many reasons. In order to overcome those difficulties, an automatic MPBX(Multi-Position Borehole Extensometer) monitoring system is developed. This system can be applied to the analyses of measured data which include evaluation of the stabiliyt, efficiency of construction and the validity of numerical analyses. At first, the MPBX among field measurement tools is considered in this study. Also, 3-dimension finite element analyses are carried out to verify the influence of geological conditions and excavation sequence on the MPBX displacement. The effect of geological conditons on the displacement can be estimated qualitatively qualitavely from the measured data by plotting displacement vs. depth.
