An analytical model was developed to understand the physics and predict the functional performance of a pin puller. The formulated model is based on one-dimensional gas dynamics for an ideal gas. Resistive forces against pin shaft movement were measured in quasi-static mechanical tests, the results of which were incorporated into the model. The expansion chamber pressure and the pin shaft displacement were measured from an actual firing test and compared to the model prediction. The gas generation rate was adjusted by a correction factor, and the heat transfer rate was obtained through parametric analysis. The validity of the model is assessed for additional firing tests with different amounts of pyrotechnic charge. This model can provide knowledge on how the pin puller functions, and on which design parameters contribute the most to the actuation of the pin puller. Using this model, we estimate the functional safety factor by comparing the energy generated by the pyrotechnic charge to the energy required to accomplish the function.
In this paper, designed the driving part of a straight line precision transfer system which can be applied to industrial machines and industrial robots. The direction of power transfer and the output characteristic are similar to those of the conventional rack-pinion type, but it applied new pin-pinion type to the driving part. As a result, it achieved indefinite expandability in length and secured the convenience of installation. To determine the optimal contact of pin-pinion gear, it conducted a Cycloid tooth profile analysis.
In the conventional gerotor design, the circular arc tooth of the outer rotor is first introduced, and then the inner rotor profile is generated by simulating the outer rotor motion while the inner rotor is fixed. The profile generation of tooth meshing exhibits relativity; therefore, the outer rotor profile can be generated by the movement of the inner rotor. In this study, we propose the design of a gerotor with a pin-tooth inner rotor. First, the pin-tooth inner rotor is devised, and then the outer rotor profile is generated. The profile of the inner rotor is simply composed of equally arranged pins along a circle. The root of the inner rotor is designed as a conjugated arc of two pins. The trajectory of the pin center is obtained by the inner rotor operation, and then the outer rotor profile is determined as a parallel curve of the trajectory. In this gerotor design, the inner rotor has a simple configuration, and contact occurs between the pin parts of the inner rotor and the whole profile of the outer rotor. This affects the material selection and machining process. The pin tooth can be used to design the outer and inner rotors, enabling a double gerotor mechanism corresponding to a planetary gear system.

We fabricated PIN-Photodiodes with a single mode fiber for analog communications and analyzed characteristics of the devices. The fabricated PIN-Photodiode shows a bandwidth of 1.5 GHz, a dark current of 20 p4 a capacitance of 0.48 pF, and the responsivity of 0.9 V/W, a second order distortion of -72 dBc. In this paper, we developed a new optical Packaging technology that is aligning in real-time monitoring of both responsivity and IM2 characteristics. As a result responsivity has been improved by 0.03 V/W, and also U has been improved by $3\~5\;dBc$. On the other hand, failure ratio has been reduced by $3.5\%$.

This paper showed mechanical properties and behaviors of macrostructures for specimens welded by F.S.W according to welding conditions and tool with 6.35$mm_t$ aluminum 7075-T651alloy plate. It resulted in defect-free weld zone in case tool rotation speed was 800rpm, 1250rpm and 1600rpm respectively that transition speed was changed to 15mm/min, 61mm/min and 124mm/min with tool's pin diameter 4${\Phi}$mm and 6${\Phi}$mm. The optimum mechanical property, ultimate stress,${\sigma}_Y$=470Mpa was obtained at the condition of 124mm/min of travel speed with 800rpm of tool rotation speed using full screw type pin, shoulder dia. 20${\Phi}$mm, pin dia.6${\Phi}$mm and pin length 6mm. The full-screw type and the half-screw type pin showed the similar behaviors of weldability. It is found that the size of nugget was depended on tool transition speed and tool dimension by macrostructures of the cross section of weld zone.

Biometric technology has been proposed as a new means to replace conventional PIN or password because it is hard to be lost and has the low possibility of illegal use. However, unlike a PIN or password, there is no way to modify the exposure if it is exposed and used illegally. To solve the problems, we propose to apply OTP using biometric information to mobile devices for more secure and adaptable authentication. In this paper, we propose a secure framework for delivering biometric information as mobile OTP to the server (TTP) and compared this paper with existed methods about security and performance.

Highly efficient and stable white PIN OLED structures have been developed with a focus on possible AM display applications. Due to the use of the novel air-stable Novaled n-dopant material NDN26, the mass production compatibility of the PIN approach is improved. With both a conventional n-dopant, NDN1, and a novel air-stable n-dopant, NDN26, similar performance in efficiency and lifetime are reached. Based on highly a stable red fluorescent emitter system, the Novaled PIN approach allows for reaching ultra-long lifetimes of 1,000,000 hours at a brightness of $1,000\;cd/m^2$, both for top and for bottom emission layouts. Furthermore, inverted PIN structures for a possible use in a-Si backplane applications for AM displays are shown. With a phosphorescent green emitter system it could be demonstrated that for bottom and inverted as well as non-inverted top emission, a brightness of $1,000\;cd/m^2$ can be reached at below 3 V. In addition to low operating voltages and long lifetimes, PIN OLEDs also enable for device structures with extremely low operating voltage drifts, a feature of increasing importance for future AM display developments.
This article presents a new global-local hybrid coarse-mesh finite difference (HCMFD) method for efficient parallel calculation of pin-by-pin heterogeneous core analysis. In the HCMFD method, the one-node coarse-mesh finite difference (CMFD) scheme is combined with a nodal expansion method (NEM)-based two-node CMFD method in a nonlinear way. In the global-local HCMFD algorithm, the global problem is a coarse-mesh eigenvalue problem, whereas the local problems are fixed source problems with boundary conditions of incoming partial current, and they can be solved in parallel. The global problem is formulated by one-node CMFD, in which two correction factors on an interface are introduced to preserve both the surface-average flux and the net current. Meanwhile, for accurate and efficient pin-wise core analysis, the local problem is solved by the conventional NEM-based two-node CMFD method. We investigated the numerical characteristics of the HCMFD method for a few benchmark problems and compared them with the conventional two-node NEM-based CMFD algorithm. In this study, the HCMFD algorithm was also parallelized with the OpenMP parallel interface, and its numerical performances were evaluated for several benchmarks.

The object of this paper is the probabilistic failure analysis on the cladding performance of WPF(Whole Pin Furnace) test fuel pins under transient conditions, and analysis of the KALIMER fuel pin using the preceding analysis. The cumulative damage estimation and Weibull probability estimation of WPF test are performed. The probabilistic method was adapted for these analyses to determine the effective thickness thinning due to eutectic penetration depth. In the results, it is difficult to assume that a brittle layer depth made by eutectic reaction is all of the thickness reduction due to cladding thinning. About 93% cladding thinning of the eutectic penetration depth is favorable as an effective thickness of cladding. And the unreliability of the KALIMER driver fuel pin under the same WPF test condition is lower than that of the WPF pin because of the higher plenum-fuel volume ratio and lower cladding inner radius vs. thickness ratio. KALIMER fuel pin developed from conceptual design has a more stable transient performance for a failure mechanism due to fission gas buildup than the WPF pin.
