The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the nutrition education on preschool children's nutrition knowledge and behaviors. The study subjects were preschool children attending J kindergarten located in Wonju. Each of the control group and the education group consisted of 49 children and the education group was exposed to nutrition education while the control group did not. The nutrition education intervention lasted 9 weeks weekly basis. The t-test for the homogeneity of each group showed no meaningful difference at the beginning point of nutrition education. After nutrition education a test of nutrition knowledge using picture-questionnaire was carried out by the researcher for the subjects of education group and control group and the caretakers of the education group were offered self-administered questionnaire on the changes in children's dietary behaviors. The results of the study were as follows: 1. Nutrition education intervention showed a meaningful difference in children's understanding nutrition; the kinds and function of food, the relationship between food and body, the function of nutrients and enhanced their idea on hygiene compared to the control group (p < p.005). 2. However, nutrition education intervention made no statistically meaningful difference in children's dietary behaviors such as having breakfast, keeping balanced diet, washing hands before meals, saying "thanks" before and after meals, cleaning the table after meals, brushing teeth after meals and so on. Therefore, we found that it is hard to expect children to correct their dietary behaviors in such a short period of 9 weeks and nutrition education for preschool children should be offered to caretakers at the same time.
This longitudinal study examined picture book reading practices with very young children and its influence on early intellectual development. The home picture book reading activities of 322 infants and their mothers were assessed by questionnaire every 6 months from 18 months till 42 months of age. Infants' IQ was measured with Korean-Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence(Park et al., 1996) at 42 months. Results showed that monthly book expense (r=.28, p<.01) and infants' asking for reading (r=.14, p<.05) at 18 months were positively correlated with IQ at 42 months. Reading time between 24 and 42 months correlated positively with IQ(r=.17~.34, p<.01). These results reveal the importance of early book environment and actual reading time in the intellectual development of very young children.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to survey for finding asbestos containing equipment at the laboratories using picture based questionnaire and polarized light microscopic analysis. Methods: This study was conducted from 2009 to 2010 at a university in Seoul. In 2009, picture based questionnaire was distributed to 100 laboratories during the regular laboratory air quality monitoring. In 2010, we emailed all professors of the same university who have laboratories to participate voluntarily this survey. For the laboratories consented to participate survey, picture based questionnaire was distributed and collected. Suspected asbestos containing material and apparatus were collected at the laboratories which replied they have suspected material and equipment. Collected samples were analyzed with polarized light microscope at the laboratory accredited by ministry of employment and labor in Korea. Results: Total of 18 out of 100 laboratories reported that they had suspected asbestos containing equipment in 2009. Twenty-three samples were collected and three samples (13%), one heating mantle and two pairs of insulation gloves, contained asbestos. Thirty four laboratories reported they had suspected asbestos containing material or equipment in 2010. Sixty samples were collected and four of them (6%), two pairs of insulation gloves, one packing rope in dry oven and, one pair of tongs, contained asbestos. All founded asbestos was chrysotile and the content of chrysotile was more than 90% for all equipment except heating mantle which has less than 1%. Conclusions: We confirmed that asbestos was still used at the laboratories though strict regulations on asbestos use in Korea. The method of picture based questionnaire invented in this study could be applied for asbestos survey to other research institute or university where there are many laboratories because of its simplicity and accessibility without huge man power, cost and time.

This study aims at analyzing educational effects of the horticultural picture books, which are depending on B.S. Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives. After collecting various horticulture-related picture books, this study classified them by the B.S bloom's educational taxonomy. There were objectives of the cognitive domain, objectives of the affective domain, psychomotor domain in plants and gardening activities. And the cognitive domain, affective domain, psychomotor domain subdivided into the sub-region can learn from the horticulture picture books to teach the unique characteristics could be found. To know the teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of using picture books in the horticulture class, questionnaire were analyzed from the survey. As a result, by Bloom's educational taxonomy area they preferred children's books. Teacher think that fairy tale books promote the interest of the children and have the advantage of fostering creativity. In addition, an easy point to get in school, lack of hours in the effective education to help horticulture that was expected. The cognitions of most effective storytelling method of horticulture picture book was story immersion. And the effective activity after reading picture book was drawing picture. Also, the most effective teaching materials was a real-life picture.
This study aims to analyze and compare the difference of preference to realistic and fantastic expressions presented in the illustrations of children's picture books. The subject of this study is set for 52 seven-year-old kindergarten students, including 26 boys and 26 girls, in Cheonan. Two times of researches on their preferences were made on the basis of data collection through individual interviews and self-regulatory questionnaires. A children's picture book, which best demonstrates both realistic and fantastic expressions, was selected as a research tool for such questionnaire from the ones produced and printed within Korea, which either are listed in the Recommended Book List of Children's Book Research Association or received any international award. The result shows that both boys and girls prefer fantastic expressions to realistic ones. It was also found that girls tend to prefer realistic expressions that the boys do. Nevertheless, there definitely was a limitation in thorough analysis by region or age, as they tended to show different responses when they were provided with a picture book with similar theme and story, but different form of expression.
There are various presentation methods of apparel products on the internet shopping mall. The objective of this study was (a) to identify the effect of information supply about the criteria to evaluate a garment according to presentation methods and (b) to investigate the relation between the consumer's evaluation of presentation methods and confidence in purchase decision. For this experiment. 4 presentation methods of jean were selected from internet shopping mall. They were rotating appearance on the body, enlarged product picture, apparel items coordination method and just picture of wearing appearance. Each presentation method was evaluated by panels using questionnaire. Consumer's evaluation of presentation methods were developed 5 point likert scale. The major findings drawn from this study were as follows : 1. There were significant differences in degree of information supply about product criteria according to presentation methods. Enlarged product picture introduction was good for confirmation of sewing state, fabric and detail. Apparel items coordination method was good for judgement of styling and current fashion suitability. 2. Dimension of information evaluation was composed of providing pleasure, utility of information, reliability & attractiveness, negative emotions. All of these factors affect confidence in purchase decision and intention of revisiting the site. The most important factor for confidence in purchase decision making was reliability & attractiveness. as compared to this, intention of revisiting the site was more influenced by providing pleasure.

The purpose of this study was to make a selection criteria for Home Economics textbooks in the middle school. For this purpose, first, the criteria were out by collecting, analyzing and synthesizing the literature. Second, questionnaire survey of the 6 selection criteria was performed. Questionnaire sent to Home Economics teachers of 401 middle school selected by systematic random sapling, 233 questionnaire were received and 220 questionnaire were analyzed for this study. As a statistical tool, SPSSWIN was used to analyze frequency, mean, standard deviation, and factor analysis. The research findings were as follows ; 1. Now for kinds of Home Economics textbooks are mainly used. At that time when textbooks were selected, these selections were made upon deliberation with the teachers in charge and in future this method will be desirable. Most home economics teachers realize that the selection criteria is needed to improve the objectivity of textbook selection. 2. As a result of making factor analysis, the selection criteria were revised that 52 items in 7 categories were chosen as textbook criteria plan. They consist of 5 items related to the outward form of textbook, 5 items related to the learning materials in textbook, 10 items related to the composition of textbook units, 11 items related to the guiding contents of textbook, 7 items related to the subject of experiment.practice, 9 items related to the composition of picture, photograph and diagram. and 7 items related to the use of instructional-learning method.
This study is a descriptive study conducted to investigate the effect of smoking cigarette sign sold in Korea on the smoking cessation effects and to use it as a basis for future smoking cessation and health related health data. To this end, we surveyed 500 men and women over 20 years of age on the Internet Naver web using Naver form questionnaire for 10 days from October 1, 2018 using blogs and cafes. The analyzed data were analyzed by factor analysis, T-test and correlation using SPSS WIN20.0. The main findings were as follows: First, the cigarette warning picture harmful to human body had the biggest influence on the smoking cessation effect. Second, the smoking cessation effect had the highest correlation with the pre-question consciousness about the cigarette warning picture. This indicates that the cigarette pack warning is considered the most sensitive part of smokers. Based on the results of this paper, diversification of cigarette warning picture and regular replacement of warning picture are expected to provide useful basic data for suggesting practical measures to prevent smoking. do. Therefore, the smoking warning picture is widely promoted through the media and the media, which has a positive effect on the practice of quitting smoking to the public, and is also used as a basic data for the health policy for the health promotion of the public.
Children's sex, temperament, and empathy were studied as antecedents of preschoolers' prosocial development. Eighty eight 5-, and 6-year-old children, 41 boys and 47 girls, were sampled in two kindergartens. Children's naturally occurring prosocial behaviors were videotaped in their classrooms for 21 minutes in 3 days. Teachers rated the children's prosocial tendency using a questionnaire. Empathy was measured individually with a picture/story measure, and mothers provided information on children's temperament using a questionnaire. The two measures of preschoolers' prosocial behaviors, teacher ratings and free play observations, were moderately related. Girls were more prosocial in terms of helping/sharing/cooperation in both teacher-ratings and free-play observations. Preschoolers' adjustability was moderately related to the prosocial behaviors of children in both teacher-ratings and observations. Boys' verbal empathy was related to the observed prosocial behaviors.
This study aims at finding out the correlation between sasang constitution diagnosis using QSCCII which is self reporting questionnaire and sasang constitution diagnosis using iridology. In this study, 131 adult male and female participated as testees. The survey on questionnaires of QSCCII were carried out and then photos of irises of the participants were taken. The data from QSCCII was computed in WIN QSCCII version and they were translated into sasang constitution. For iris photos, the iris specialized camera with 1,300,000 picture elements was used, and then the iris photos were also read by computer. The correlation rate between QSCCII sasang constitution and iris sasang constitution was 52.4%, where kappa coefficient shows 0.323, which gives meaningful result statistically. And thus, the result can be used as a reference in sasang constitution diagnosis. For iridology to be served as a tool for sasang constitution diagnosis, criteria need to be developed for more concrete iris sasang constitution diagnosis in the future. And also comparative research is required among sasang constitution professionals and its iridological correlation of Sasang constitution carried out on more various group of people.
