Analytical methods were developed to determine cyclosulfamuron residues in soil, water, rice grain and straw using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet absorption detection. In these methods, cyclosulfamuron was extracted with aqueous $Na_2HPO_4$/acetone and acetone/methanol mixture from soil and rice samples respectively. Liquid-liquid partition coupled with ion-associated technique, Florisil column chromatography, and solid-phase extraction (SPE) were used to separate cyclosulfamuron from interfering co-extractives prior to HPLC analysis. For water sample, the residue was enriched in $C_{18}$-SPE cartridge, cleaned up in situ, and directly subjected to HPLC. Reverse-phase HPLC under ion-suppression was successfully applied to determine cyclo-sulfamuron in sample extracts with the detection at its ${\lambda}_{max}$ (254 nm). Recoveries from fortified samples averaged $87.8{\pm}7.1%$ (n=12), $97.3{\pm}7.2%$ (n=12), $90.8{\pm}6.6%$ (n=6), and $78.5{\pm}6.7%$ (n=6) for soil, water, rice grain and straw, respectively. Detection limits of the methods were 0.004 mg/kg, 0.001 mg/L, 0.01 mg/kg and 0.02 mg/kg for soil, water, rice grain and straw samples, respectively.

In this paper, we propose a bandwidth-efficient channel coding scheme using the turbo trellis-coded modulation with multiple symbol detection. The turbo code can achieve good bit error rates (BER) at low SNR. That comprises two binary component codes and an interleaver. TCM codes combine modulation and coding by optimizing the euclidean distance between codewords. This can be decoded with the Viterbi or the symbol-by- symbol MAP algorithm. But we present the MAP algorithm with branch metrics of the Euclidean distance of the first phase difference as well as the Lth phase difference. The study shows that the turbo trellis-coded modulation with multiple symbol detection can improve the BER performance at the same SNR.

The task performed by induction motors grows increasingly complex in modern industry and hence improvements are sought in the field of fault diagnosis. It is essential to diagnose faults at their very inception, as unscheduled machine down time can upset critical dead lines and cause heavy financial losses. Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques have proved their ability in detection of incipient faults in electrical machines. This paper presents an application of AI techniques for the detection of inter-turn insulation and bearing wear faults in single-phase induction motors. The single-phase induction motor is considered a proto type model to create inter-turn insulation and bearing wear faults. The experimental data for motor intake current, rotor speed, stator winding temperature, bearing temperature and noise of the motor under running condition was generated in the laboratory. The different types of fault detectors were developed based upon three different AI techniques. The input parameters for these detectors were varied from two to five sequentially. The comparisons were made and the best fault detector was determined.

Many software reliability growth models (SRGM's) based on a nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP) have been proposed by many researchers. Most of the SRGM's which have been proposed up to the present treat the event of software fault-detection in the testing and operational phases as a counting process. However, if the size of the software system is large, the number of software faults detected during the testing phase becomes large, and the change of the number of faults which are detected and removed through debugging activities becomes sufficiently small compared with the initial fault content at the beginning of the testing phase. Therefore, in such a situation, we can model the software fault-detection process as a stochastic process with a continuous state space. In this paper, we propose a new software reliability growth model describing the fault-detection process by applying a mathematical technique of stochastic differential equations of an Ito type. We also compare our model with the existing SRGM's in terms of goodness-of-fit for actual data sets.

Unusual data patterns or outliers can be generated because of human errors, incorrect measurements, or malicious activities. Detecting outliers is a difficult task that requires complex ensembles. An ideal outlier detection ensemble should consider the strengths of individual base detectors while carefully combining their outputs to create a strong overall ensemble and achieve unbiased accuracy with minimal variance. Selecting and combining the outputs of dissimilar base learners is a challenging task. This paper proposes a model that utilizes heterogeneous base learners. It adaptively boosts the outcomes of preceding learners in the first phase by assigning weights and identifying high-performing learners based on their local domains, and then carefully fuses their outcomes in the second phase to improve overall accuracy. Experimental results from 10 benchmark datasets are used to train and test the proposed model. To investigate its accuracy in terms of separating outliers from inliers, the proposed model is tested and evaluated using accuracy metrics. The analyzed data are presented as crosstabs and percentages, followed by a descriptive method for synthesis and interpretation.
This paper proposes a new position detection method for train speed control using the PDOA(Phase Difference of Arrival). This method aims to apply to AGT(Automated Guide way Transit) systems, operated with driverless. So it is absolutely required to range, calculate and decide a train position precisely. This system consists of VRS (Vehicle Radio Set) and WRS(Wayside Radio Set). The VRS transmits a wireless signal to the WRS, the controller calculate a straight line with the PDOA. Next step calculate an exact position using track DB. This paper includes the concept, configuration, analysis and results of this method.
Lipase (triacylglycerol hydrolase, EC 3.1.1.3) is able to catalyze the hydrolysis of ester bonds of triacylglycerols at the interface between aqueous phase and organic phase containing substrate. With the rapid development of lipid biotechnology, lipase-catalyzed hydrolysis of lipids has a great concern from the industrial point of view. Owing to the reversible nature of the lipase, the reactions are also applied for glyceride synthesis, interesterification and resolution of racemic mixtures into optically active alcohols or acids. For all applications of the lipases, a reliable method for the determination of enzyme activity is required. Precise quantitative determination of its activity is essential as the basis of research and development of the bioprocess involving the enzyme. This article reviews the existing literature on the detection and determination of lipase activity from microbial, mammalian and plant sources.
A simple reversed phase HPLC method was established for quantitative determination of liquiritigenin (1), genistein (2), isoliquiritigenin (3), and 7-hydroxyflavanone (4) from stems of Spatholobus suberectus Dunn (Leguminosae) using a binary gradient of $H_2O$ and MeOH as a mobile phase with UV detection at 280 nm. All calibration curves showed good linear regression ($r^2$ > 0.998) within test ranges. The detection limits of the four compounds were $0.43{\sim}1.63{\mu}g/mL$. The contents of four flavonoids (1 - 4) from the stem of S. suberectus were 6.54 mg/g, 1.66 mg/g, 6.65 mg/g, and 1.93 mg/g, respectively.
This paper describes the development of a three-phase Line-Interactive DVR(Dynamic Voltage Restorer), which is applied to Hybrid detection method and super-capacitor. The operational feasibility was verified through computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software, and experimental will be work with 3kVA prototype. The developed system can compensates the input voltage sag and interruption within 2ms, in which the maximum allowable sensitive load, such as computer, communication equipment, automation equipment, and medical equipment. The developed system has a simple structure to be easily implemented with commercially available components and to be highly reliable in operation.
A reverse-phase HPLC method to determine DL-Carnitine Hydrochloride in pharmaceutical preparation is described. UV absorption derivatives of DL-Carnitine Hydrochloride were formed with p-Bromophenacyl Bromide in an essentially quantitative manner using crown ether as catalyst. The DL-Carnitine-bromophenacyl ester absorbed UV radiation strongly at 254nm, allowing the detection of as small a quantity as 12.5ng of DL-Carnitine Hydrochloride. A linear defection range was $5\;{\times}\;10-8 \;{\sim}\;5\;{\times}\;10-7M$ of DL-Carnitine Hydrochloride. And the linear regression at various drug concentration was =0.999 (n=10). The DL-Carnitine Hydrochloride in pharmaceutical preparation was successfully derivatized and separated from other constituents by reverse phase HPLC with detection at 254 nm.
