DYNAMICS OF A CLASS OF NON-AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS OF TWO NON-INTERACTING PREYS WITH COMMON PREDATOR

  • In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of the mathematical model of two non-interacting preys in presence of their common natural enemy (predator) based on the non-autonomous differential equations. We establish sufficient conditions for the permanence, extinction and global stability in the general non-autonomous case. In the periodic case, by means of the continuation theorem in coincidence degree theory, we establish a set of sufficient conditions for the existence of a positive periodic solutions with strictly positive components. Also, we give some sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability of the positive periodic solution.

Coping with Educational Disadvantages of Foster Children : Educational Expectations and Involvement Foster Parents (위탁아동의 학업성취향상 요인에 관한 연구 : 위탁부모의 교육에 대한 관심과 참여 중심으로)

  • This study used secondary data of the Illinois Subsidized Guardianship Waiver Demonstration, Chicago Public Schools and administrative data of the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services. Multiple regression analysis was the main statistical method. Results revealed a positive effect of foster parents' expectations on educational achievement of foster children without disabilities. Among types of educational involvement, 'direct educational activities' showed a positive effect on math and 'supervision reported by children' showed a positive effect on reading achievement. Among indices of the quality of relationship: the presence of kinship ties, permanence achievement, and level of affection between foster parents and children, only level of affection had a significant positive association with both math and reading achievement.

  • This paper is intended to document the development of the Mathematics across the Curriculum (MAC) movement, following a mathematics problem solving model. Of course, just as new, related problems often arise after we have completed the solution of a current mathematics problem, so too, many questions remain regarding the future of MAC. Although preliminary assessments have been favorable, no broad-based evaluation of the impact of MAC has been conducted. To what extent has the promise of increased student understanding of mathematics and its connections to other disciplines been realized? What can be done to overcome logistical obstacles preventing instructors from working together in real schools settings? Are changes in institutional culture and relationships among academics merely transitory? Is the development of a strong base of curricular materials forthcoming? In other words, will MAC reach a level of educational permanence, or ultimately be discarded as another interesting, but unmanageable instructional fad?

  • Collecting all failures during life cycle of vehicle is not easy way because its life cycle is normally over 10 years. Warranty period can help gathering failures data because most customers try to repair its failures during warranty period even though small failures. This warranty data, which means failures during warranty period, can be a good resource to predict initial reliability and permanence reliability. However uncertainty regarding reliability prediction remains because this data is censored. University of Wuppertal and major auto supplier developed the reliability prognosis model considering censored data and this model introduce to predict reliability estimate further "failure candidate". This paper predicts reliability of telecommunications system in vehicle using the model and describes data structure for reliability prediction.

GLOBAL STABILITY OF THE VIRAL DYNAMICS WITH CROWLEY-MARTIN FUNCTIONAL RESPONSE

  • It is well known that the mathematical models provide very important information for the research of human immunodeciency virus type. However, the infection rate of almost all mathematical models is linear. The linearity shows the simple interaction between the T-cells and the viral particles. In this paper, a differential equation model of HIV infection of $CD4^+$ T-cells with Crowley-Martin function response is studied. We prove that if the basic reproduction number $R_0$ < 1, the HIV infection is cleared from the T-cell population and the disease dies out; if $R_0$ > 1, the HIV infection persists in the host. We find that the chronic disease steady state is globally asymptotically stable if $R_0$ > 1. Numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the results.

  • In this paper, a three-dimensional eco-epidemiological model with delay is considered. The stability of the two equilibria, the existence of Hopf bifurcation and the permanence are investigated. It is found that Hopf bifurcation occurs when the delay ${\tau}$ passes though a sequence of critical values. The estimation of the length of delay to preserve stability has also been calculated. Numerical simulation with a hypothetical set of data has been done to support the analytical findings.

  • The durability of handmade paper prepared by potassium carbonate cooking of paper multiberry (Broussonetia Kazinoki Sieb).was investigated. The potassium carbonate paper before and after heat aging had better strength properties, breaking length and folding endurance than those of the soda paper, except of lower brightness .After 30 days of heat aging , these strength properties were still maintained . however, there was almost no difference in the infrared spectra and the crystallinities calculated by X-ray diffraction curves between the potassium carbonate paper and the soda a paper. The durability of the potassium carbonate paper was though to be due to decrease in the pulp damage caused by weak alkaline cooking condition. The results indicated that the paper prepared by the potassium carbonate cooling method could have better permanence than that prepared by the conventional soda cooking method.

  • The storage environment of a Japanese woodblock print collection was assessed for organic acids. The active air sampling method was used to collect organic acid emissions in the low microgram range from areas of a selected woodblock print with different pigments, following which an off-gassing mitigation strategy based on the fan filter unit(FFU) system was investigated. Research findings revealed that the off-gassing behavior of woodblock prints is significantly impacted by storage practices and to a lesser degree by the pigments. The FFU system can be used as a mitigation strategy, but the permanence of the results depends on the storage conditions.

  • In this paper, the commutative module amenable Banach algebras are characterized. The hereditary and permanence properties of module amenability and the relations between module amenability of a Banach algebra and its ideals are explored. Analogous to the classical case of amenability, it is shown that the projective tensor product and direct sum of module amenable Banach algebras are again module amenable. By an application of Ryll-Nardzewski fixed point theorem, it is shown that for an inverse semigroup S, every module derivation of 𝑙1(S) into a reflexive module is inner.

  • Generalizing $Lindel{\ddot{o}}f$ frames and almost compact frames, we introduce a concept of almost $Lindel{\ddot{o}}f$ frames. Using a concept of ${\delta}$-filters on frames, we characterize almost $Lindel{\ddot{o}}f$ frames and then have their permanence properties. We also show that almost $Lindel{\ddot{o}}f$ regular $D({\aleph}_1)$ frames are exactly $Lindel{\ddot{o}}f$ frames. Finally we construct an almost $Lindel{\ddot{o}}fication$ of a frame L via the simple extension of L associated with the set of all ${\delta}$-filters F on L with ${\bigvee}\{x^*{\mid}x{\in}F\}=e$.
