  • Nowadays, most of the major manufacturing companies prepare their manufacturing schedule using package based solutions. Even though the accuracy of the detail scheduling result is high at implementation, however, it is low during maintenance period. The main cause of low accuracy during maintenance period is due to difficulties in maintaining the accurate level of master data. In this paper, we propose to easily maintain setup time, which is one of the most important factors required in master data to achieve good scheduling result, after changing job. This paper is mainly focused on how to deduce the factors that influence the setup time in a roll-based manufacturing field with print operations. For this purpose, we employed rule based algorithm and applied for deciding setup time for the existing product items. Likewise, it can be applied to new items without any complex setup procedures, and, finally, it displays the result of the real setup-time and calculated setup-time.

  • This paper considers the differences in the software execution environments in the testing phase and the operational phase to determine the optimal release time and warranty period of software systems. We formulate equations for the total expected software cost until the end of the software life cycle based on the NHPP. In addition, we derive the optimal release time that minimizes the total expected software cost for an imperfect debugging software reliability model. Finally, we analyze the sensitivity of the optimal testing and maintenance design related to variation of the cost model parameters based on the fault data observed in the actual testing process, and discuss the quantitative properties of the proposed model.

Prediction of bending fatigue lifes of rail welded parts (레일용접부 피로수명 예측)

  • This paper investigates about the prediction of rail bending fatigue lifes for the purpose of the effective maintenance of surface irregularities of rail welded parts. The rail bending stresses are calculated using a track dynamic analysis program. The rail surface irregularities measured in situ are given as inputs in the analyses. On the other hand, the S-N curves are derived based on the results of bending fatigue tests. Using data found so far, rail fatigue lifes are estimated adopting a modified Miner's rule. The useful guides for maintenance of rail welded part are proposed in terms of grinding period and grinding depth of rail surface irregularities.

  • This paper presents a preventive maintenance model for determining the preventive replacement period of a system in which a failure rate is affected by the cumulative damage of fault and inspection. Especially, the failure rate function is considered to be a function of the cumulative damage of the fault and inspection time. Types of replacement considered are preventive replacement and failure replacement. Failure rate and expected cost function between replacement are derived. An optimal policy is obtained that minimizes the average cost per unit time for preventive replacement, failure replacement, inspection and repair.

  • Since the urban subway is normally constructed under the groundwater level, the drainage system will be one of the most important factors during maintenance period. Therefore, to investigate suitability of the design approach and the construction specification, the inflow and the contents of the groundwater in the Route 5 of Seoul subway system are analysed. From these, the possibility of the design improvement and the economy of the maintenance cost are proposed.

  • Delay time analysis is a pragmatic mathematical concept readily embraced by engineers which has been developed as a means to model maintenance decision problem. This paper considers an inspection period using delay time analysis for fishing vessel equipment. We assume that delay time has a Weibull distribution. In this paper, we determine the optimal inspection period which minimize the expected downtime per unit time. Explicit solutions for the optimal inspection are presented for illustrative purposes.

  • Such traditional construction methods as the interchange or improvement of railway subbase maintenance and reinforcement have many problems in the matters of construction period, constructive and economical efficiency aspects. This paper will describe the alternative railway subbase reinforcement method based on geosynthetics system. It is presently very popular in Germany and Japan. In summary it is to say, that geosynthetics used at fine grained subsoils to a strong improvement of the whole railroad system.

  • Infrastructure which mandatory in human life causes large environmental loads when they are being installed and maintained. Especially, maintenance is performed over a long period of time. Also, there is a limit to suggest a reliable estimated value because environmental loads are changed according to methods of maintenance and periods. In this study, we developed a Environmental Load Estimating Model to evaluate value and plan as soon as possible in the Early Design Phases while maintaining a tunnel. To estimate environmental loads by using brief design information, we analyze a calculation methodology of environmental loads in maintenance phases. Furthermore, we apply periods of maintenance work and maintenance factors considered a characteristic of long-term maintenance. Finally, a main purpose is that this program makes all users estimate environmental loads in maintenance phases easily and quickly. Accordingly, it is considered that the Environmental Load Estimating Model offer assistance to eco-friendly maintenance of the road and tunnel construction.

Efficacy of 10-Injection Induced Modified Rush Immunotherapy in Dogs with Atopic Dermatitis

  • Modified rush immunotherapy (IT), by combination of rush IT and conventional IT, provides a faster method to reach maintenance dose, leading to higher patient adherence when compared with conventional IT, decreasing systemic adverse reactions when compared with a standard rush IT. Ten atopic dogs of this study include fulfillment of Favrot's criteria. Offending allergens were identified by the use of IDST. During the induction period, the dogs were received a total of 10 injections. Five injections were administrated every 30 minutes in a day with gradually increasing amounts and concentrations of allergens, and the last 5 injections were administered every 3 days. The efficacy of 10-injection induced mRIT was assessed using the canine atopic dermatitis extent and severity index (CADESI). During maintenance period, reduction rate from baseline scores varied between 3.2% and 60.9% and the after 6 months of therapy for CADESI-03 score in 6 of the 10 dogs. Adverse reactions were not observed in these dogs during induction period by mRIT with 10 injections. Based on these results, our modified rush IT protocol is considered to be a useful protocol to treat canine atopic dermatitis.

  • As a construction technique is developed recently, the construction space and construction period are considered to important matters. Especially, in case of construction period, several method is proposed for strength control in the construction field. However there are very little strength control models for application of internal condition. The purpose of this study is to develop a strength control model for application of variety internal condition at construction field. The results are as follows ; 1) According to the results of compressive strength of concrete evaluated by logistic curve and proposed curve, proposed curve is applicable of construction field because there is similar relation with logistic curve. 2) It is shown that the construction period is shortened by reduction of the formwork removal time, because a predicted compressive strength of using the new curve is higher than the proposed compressive strength of standard.
