Global luxury jewelry brands had begun to launch their direct businesses in Korea since the 1990s, and have attained fast growth by holding events reflecting their philosophies. The purpose of this study was to analyze the background of their growth by examining the types and roles of events in Korea held by luxury jewelry brands. For the research method, the quantitative and qualitative analysis were performed about domestic events of Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Bvlgari, Chaumet, and Van Cleef & Arples during the period from 1990 to 2013. Also, theoretical study was reviewed. The results are as follows. The events are largely classified into jewelry exhibitions, jewelry shows, wedding fairs, and hybrids. The roles of such events were, first, the artification of products and, second, the contemporization of traditions. According to the findings of this study, luxury jewelry brands transmitted new emotions and values to their customers through their events in Korea, and extended their influence continuously over the Korean high-end jewelry market.

This paper explores differences demonstrated by changes of consumers' clothing expenditure in Korea and the United States since the mid-1990s. Evidence for this study was extrapolated from annual data provided by the Household Expenditure Survey, which was carried out in Korea between 1996 and 2008, and the Consumer Expenditure Survey, which was carried out in the United States during the same time period. The results include: (1) The proportion of the clothing expenditure decreased during the subject period in both Korea and the United States; (2) The decrease in proportional clothing expenditure was greater in Korea than in the United States; (3) Although the relative prices of clothes decreased greatly during this period in both countries, it was determined that the decrease in clothing prices in the United States was greater when compared to those in Korea; and (4) By using the DID(Difference in difference) model, the author contends that a decrease in clothing purchases contributed to the decrease of prices for clothing in the United States, while in Korea, the decrease in prices for clothing was also impacted by other factors including changes in household expenditures for education and communication.

This study aims to explore the characteristics of translated picture books in South Korea and their cultural meanings over a five-decade period. This time can broadly be divided into three periods, being the Settlement Period (pre-1990), the Flourishing Years (1991-2000) and Globalization (post-2001). During the Settlement Period, picture books in South Korea were derived mainly from Japan and America and tended to be informational in nature or based on folk tales. These were translated into Korean to meet the public's curiosity for foreign cultures or for scientific information. The Flourishing Years were characterised by the availability of picture books on a wide variety on themes and forms from all over the world. In this period, the translation of books into Korean focused on a literal rendition of the meanings and sounds of names from the original text. There was also a proliferation of audiotapes, videos and TV programs based on famous picture books. In the current period of Globalization, Korean publishers, who have built confidence through studying foreign picture books over time, have increased efforts to produce their own picture books and export them abroad.

DO Cas는 최근 Shaw (1990)에 의해 근접촉쌍성으로 분류된 공전주기 0.68일의 식쌍성이다. 짧은 공전주기를 가짐에도 불구하고 Mannino (1958) 이후 분광관측에 의한 시선속도 곡선이 발표되지 않고 있다. 그런데 Hill (1991)은 Mannino의 시선속도곡선이 오류를 포함하고 있는 것으 로 보인다고 하였다. 이 연구에서 우리는 Asiago 천문대에 의뢰하여 Mannino가 분석한 분광관측 사진건판을 입수하여 PDS로 측정하여 IRAP로 재분석하였다. 이 시선속도곡선과 1998년에 관측한 BVR 광도곡선을 Wilson-Devinney 방법으로 동시에 분석하였다. 그 결과 DO Cas가 접촉 또는 주성이 로쉬엽을 채우고 있는 접촉에 매우 가까운 준분리형 쌍성임을 확인하였으며 또한 이 계의 절대량을 구하였다.

This study attempts to analyze the characteristics and changing trends of the interior design of modern Korean houses since 1960s and to understand the impacts of Western architecture and design. the photos of 101 houses were selected from the magazines published since 1960s. The data collected were analyzed via frequency percentage and average. The result reveals that the interior design of the living rooms in modern Korean houses has undergone lots of changes in finishing materials window treatments types of cabinets and use of lighting fixtures. It is concluded that 1960-1960s is a period of introducing Western design as a superior while 1980's is a period of exploring various ways toward harmony between Korean style and Western styles and 1990's is a period of settlement of koreanized modernism style.

연어의 미국 양육은 과거 5년동안 평균 300,000톤으로 비교적 안정적이었다. 반면에 동 기간동안 미국의 연어 수입은 1,800,000파운드에서 19,000,000파운드로 10배나 증가하여 왔다. 이러한 연어의 공급은 70%가 노르웨이에서 이루어졌다. 미국은 1981년까지는 노르웨이로부터 미미한 정도의 연어를 수입하였지만, 1983년에는 1,768톤, 1984년에는 3,869톤 그리고 1985년에는 6,272톤을 수입하였다. 카나다산 연어의 수입가격은 과거 5년전에 $2.58/1b에서 1985년에는 $1.25/1b로 지속적으로 하락하여 왔으나, 반면 노르웨이산 연어의 수입가격은 동일기간동안 $3.28/1b에서 $3.45/1b까지 큰 변동없이 유지되어 왔다. 이와같은 노르웨이산 연어는 1985년에 약 $3.35/1b로 카나다산 연어수입 가격의 약 3배에 달하는 것이다. 미국의 연어의 외형상 소비양은 1981년에 50,000톤이었으나 1985년에는 86%나 증가한 92,000톤으로 급격한 증가현상을 보이고 있다. 특히 매년의 1인당 소비는 1981년에 0.47파운드로부터 1985년에는 0.85파운드로 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 이상과 같은 상황을 기초로 미래의 연어시장가격을 예측하기 위하여 수요모델을 추정하였다. 추정된 수요모델에 의하면 미국시장에서의 매년의 연어 도매가격은 공급의 증가에 의해서는 하락하지만 미국의 GNP증가에 의해서는 상승할 것이라는 점을 나타내고 있다. 본 연구에 의한 결과는 미국의 총공급양이 25% 증가할지라도 미국의 GNP가 매년 $200,000,000,000씩 증가할 때는 1990년의 연어 도매가격은 1985년 수준으로 유지될 것이라는 점이다.

Phytosociological invesstigation of the forest vegetation was carried out in Oinrodo island at the period from June 5th 1990 to June 10th 1990 by Braun-Blanquet's method. The forest vegetation was classified into 10 communities, Castanopsis cuspidata var. sieboldii, Machilus thunsbergii, Neolitsea sericea, Quercus glauca-Actinodaphne lancifolia, Pinus thunbergii, Chamaecyparis obtusa, Cryptomeria japonica, Quercus acutissima, Quercus variabilis, and Carpinus coreana community. Based on the classification of communities, the actual vegetation map was drawn in 1 : 50,000 scale.

본 연구는 지방도시의 하나인 대구를 대상으로 1960년대부터 현재까지 시대별로 도시공원의 계획 개원과정을 분석하고, 이를 시대적 상황과 연관 지어 고찰함으로써 도시공원의 변천에 나타난 사회적 의미를 해석하였다. 1960년대에 도시계획법과 공원법이 제정되면서 법제도 내에서 도시공원이 조성되기 시작하였다. 하지만 이때에는 도시공원이 단지 도시계획시설의 하나로만 인식되어 조성보다는 지정에만 급급하였다. 1970년대는 급격한 도시화와 폭발적인 인구 증가에 대처하기 위해 도시공원의 양적 확보에 주력하였으나, 예산부족으로 계획기간 내에 공원 조성이 완료되지 못하였다. 1980년대는 연이는 대규모 국제대회 개최로 인하여 도시미화를 위한 각종 녹화계획이 수립되면서 도시공원의 미적 기능이 재인식되었으며, 도시민의 이용욕구를 만족시키기 위해 정적공간뿐만 아니라 동적시설을 갖춘 복합적인 성격의 도시공원이 조성되기 시작하였다. 1990년대는 환경문제에 대한 관심 증대와 함께 공원에 대한 시민의 적극적인 관심표명 및 참여가 이루어지기 시작하였으며, 도시공원의 환경적 기능과 효과의 부각에 따라 도시공원의 양적 확대뿐 아니라, 질적 개선도 함께 이루어졌다. 우리나라에 있어 근대적 의미의 도시공원 도입은 구한말부터이고, 본격적으로 도시공원이 조성되기 시작한 것은 1960년대부터이다. 하지만, 본 연구를 통해서 도시공원의 변화과정에 나타난 사회적 의미를 종합해 볼 때 대구에서 시민을 위한 '공용(共用)의 휴식처'라는 본연의 의미와 목적에 부합되는 도시공원의 개념이 완성된 것은 1990년대에 와서라고 할 수 있다.

This study investigated aesthetic characters of textile design on the modern fashion in 1990s. 1. Spiritual desolation caused by modern society of high-technology made people be interested in ethnic image. 2. It was expressed aesthetic beauty by application of various kinds of art for more new and creative designs. 3. Resistance against environmental pollution or ecosystem destruction caused by scientific technology and industrial development pursed ecology, so lots of natural patterns were used. 4. It was persued beauty of simplicity and visual angels by using geometrical graphism. 5. Self-consciousness or resistance of period was expressed by deconstructive symbol. Accordingly, textile design is expressed related to the trend of modern fashion, the current thought of the times, social phenomenon and art. So we need various analysis on above factors. Then, it will be helpful to develope the creative and distinguished fashion design.
