  • In order to plan and manage public facilities effectively and efficiently, it is necessary to diagnose the current status of facilities and decide the objective features. Performance measurement is to provide managers with the information they need to measure competitive advantages. This paper discusses public facility performance in order to establish the conceptual framework for performance measurement for public facilities. In order to develop the measurement of public facility performance, a pilot study was conducted with facilities managers of facilities management corporation of public districts in Seoul. We investigated how public facilities management teams have assessed their performance and collected data regarding financial aspects, service aspects, community aspects, and building aspects. There is no standard format to measure facility performance since building sizes, programs, community needs widely differ. However, it is necessary to have a more consistent system to measure facility performance. In addition, each public municipal district needs to empower each district facilities management corporation to participate in managerial decisions and budget control.

  • This study is to explore the relationship between trust in local administrative organization and organizational performance. Local administrative organizations provide the citizens with administrative services. Heightening the organizational performance contributes the citizens' happiness and the stream of times through organizations' change. To provide high quality of administrative service to citizens, trust in organizations is more important than any other capital. The improvement of organizational performance needs through this social capital. Factors about trust variables and organizational performance variables are extracted through the theoretical discussions. To do the research, public servants in 7 local administrative organizations of Gangwondo were asked to do the survey about how trust in organizations affects organizationa performances. The results explain that trust variables are related to organizational performance, and the local administrative organization which is high in trust is high in organizational performance. Trust in local administrative organizations improves the organizational performance internally and the organization will obtain trust from the citizens externally.

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the attributing factors influencing team performance. Background: Technically, it is necessary that operators adapt themselves to computerized and advanced techniques to operate the main control rooms safely in nuclear power plant in Korea. The more main control rooms are digitalized, the more important for operators to have high team performance it is. Method: This paper analyzes team process through literatures review and elicits team performance shaping factor. Especially, the objective of this research is to elicit communication using common team performance shaping factors. Results: This study has found communication through team performance shaping factors in Main Control Room of the SMART. Conclusion: This paper can offer a starting point for team communication, which can use team performance shaping factor framework that are emerging in these new nuclear power plant. Application: As a result, I expect that the evaluation communication for MCR operator's team performance will lead the operating techniques in nuclear power industry internationally.

  • This paper investigated the causal relationship between IT investment and economic performance with the office, computing and accounting machinery (OCAM) and gross domestic product (GDP) statistics from the United States for the period 1961 to 2001. Due to non-stationary aspects of the series, found by unit root tests, it was deemed applicable to apply growth models using the first difference of the series. The results indicate that IT investment growth at the country level do not only cause economic performance growth, but are also caused by economic performance growth. While IT investment growth affect economic performance growth over shorter time periods, economic performance growth affect IT investment growth over longer time periods. As a result, this study reveals IT investment growth have the preceding effect on economic performance growth, and then economic performance growth impact subsequently on IT investment growth.

  • Hardware technologies for high-performance computing has been developing continuously. However, actual performance of software cannot keep up with the speed of development in hardware technologies, because hardware architectures become more and more complicated and hardware scales become larger. So, software technique to utilize high-performance computing systems more efficiently plays more important role in realizing high-performance computing for computational science. In this paper, the effort to enhance software performance on large and complex high-performance computing systems such as performance optimization and parallelization will be presented. Our effort to serve high-performance computational kernels such as high-performance sparse solvers and the achievements through this effort also will be introduced.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted in order to understand the correlation between professionalism, job satisfaction, and job performance of physical therapists Methods: Subjects included 148 physiotherapists. We conducted a questionnaire survey on professionalism, job satisfaction, and business performance. We then performed a correlation analysis. Results: The highest 'compliance of professional organization' in professionalism, the lowest 'vocation awareness of the profession'. In job satisfaction, the highest satisfaction was reported for 'supervisor', and the lowest satisfaction for 'duty'. Professionalism and job satisfaction/job satisfaction and job performance showed a clear positive correlation, and professionalism and job performance showed a weak positive correlation. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that, in order to improve the job performance of the physical therapist, it is necessary to improve professionalism and job satisfaction. Physical therapists should improve their professionalism in order to improve job performance. In addition, research to improve job satisfaction and job performance of the physical therapist should be continued.

  • In the performance domain, physical performance is a measure that represents some degree of system, subsystem, component or device success in a continuous sense, as opposed to a classical binomial sense (success or failure). If applicable sensing and monitoring means exist, physical performance can be observed over time, along with explanatory variables or covariables. Performance-based reliability represents the probability that performance will remain satisfactory over a finite period of time or usage cycles in the future when a performance critical limit (which represents an appropriate definition of failure in terms of performance) is set at a fixed level, based on application requirements. In the case of inadequate knowledge of the failure mechanics, this physical based empirical modeling concept along with performance degradation knowledge can serve as an important analysis tool in reliability work in product and process improvement.

  • The objectives of this study were (1) to find out if consumer attitude variables, that is, attitude on post-industrial age consumer value, attitude on consumerism, have significant effects on consumer role performance, (2) to find out if socio-demographic variables, that is, age, educational level, family income, social status, have significant effects on consumer role performance, (3) to examine the independent influences of variables related to each subarea consumer role performance. The data used in this study inclued 573 homemakers living in Seoul. Statistical methods were ANOVA and Multiple Regression Analysis. Major findings were as follows;1) consumer role performance and each subarea consumer role performance differed significantly according to all the variables related to consumer attitude. 2) All the socio-demographic variables had significant effects on consumer role performance. 3) Resulting from multiple regression analysis, consumer role performance and all the subarea consumer role performance had the positive liner relationships with the variables such as attitude on post-industrial age consumer value, attitude on consumerism, educational level, The most influencial variable was attitude on post-industrial age consumer value, and in turn educational level and attitude on consumerism.

  • This study was aimed at analyzing the three-step seismic performance evaluation procedure of Korea Infrastructure Safety Cooperation and proposing a new procedure suitable for unreinforced masonry buildings in Korea. For the study, it was investigated the performance evaluation results of five example URM buildings. First of all, it was found that the performance evaluation procedure for the URM buildings should be different from that for the other structural systems. As a result, a simple procedure of seismic performance evaluation was proposed, which includes elimination of elastic and inelastic push-over analysis and reduction of performance levels and evaluation steps. With the simple procedure, the URM buildings could be evaluated more easily than the other structures. It would be expected that the procedure can provide structural engineers with a simple and easy way to evaluate the seismic performance of the Korean URM buildings. Nevertheless, the procedure must be revised continuously by reflecting new research products for the URM buildings in Korea.

The reason are legalized only for material performance quality standard even though it is existed waterproofing materials for membrane. In actuality, waterproofing layer are greatly occurred in performance a decreased developing essential element that are human footprints as a result physical perimeter environment after construction and on the construction. As the result, this present paper purpose for evaluation and performance of the membrane waterproofing layer on the construction.
