Methods: This is a descriptive study using content analysis for identifying the items of clinical nursing checklists gathered from 13 university nursing programs accredited by Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education. Items in the checklist were standardized in accordance with the Nursing Intervention Classification (NIC) and categorized into simple-technical skill, complex-technical skill, and disease-specific care. The perceived significance of each item was examined by surveying nurses who in charge of nurse education from various clinical setting. Results: A total of 182 items in the clinical practicum contents were analyzed, and the terminologies of each item were variously described among nursing schools. Fifty percent of the total items were categorized into simple-technical skill. In terms of clinical importance, expert validity results showed that nurses considered infection control, infection protection, and fall prevention as the most significant items, which was not the same as the most common items in the clinical nursing checklist. Conclusion: These findings suggest that standardized nursing terminologies are needed to describe a nursing practicum checklist. Clinical importance of each item in the checklist should be taken into consideration in developing a clinical nursing checklist to assist the students in achieving the competencies as a clinical nurse.

  • The purpose of the present study was to identify how and how much teachers utilize ICT in their instruction and to analyze teachers' perception about the environmental factors to promote ICT implementation after their participation in a teacher training for Project-Based Learning (PBL) with ICT. The results showed that there was a significant change in the application of PBL into classroom and the class preparation before and after the training. Lack of time to prepare the instruction using ICT was identified as the most important reason not to utilize ICT in their classroom. While teachers perceived time and rewards among the environmental factors were lack, dissatisfaction with status quo, incentives, knowledge and skill, participation and leadership were perceived as being present in their school.

Four research hypothesis are established for the purpose of this study. The subject of this study were 473 employees who were working at 10 general hospitals in Korea. The survey was done with structured questionnaire from January 3 to February 8, 2013. The results of stepwise regression analysis show that hospital employees' communication satisfaction positively affected organizational effectiveness. Interaction effects between employees' communication satisfaction and work types had stronger effect on organizational growth than organizational stability. It can be pointed out as an important issue that communication satisfaction score of medical support occupation is the lowest level(3.11 points out of 5 points). If hospitals want an integration of organization, it is required to develop method or skill to increase communication satisfaction among employees.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the determinants of planned behavior of adolescent, toward information security and cyber crime prevention. A survey methodology was used to investigate a proposed model of influence, and regression analysis was used to analyze the results. The hypothesized model was largely supported by this analysis, and the overall results indicate that the intention to actively participate in information security and cyber crime prevention is mostly influenced by the fear for cyber crime and the perceived usefulness of information security and cyber crime prevention activity. In addition, it was found that the perceived easy of use for information-security related ICT skill, fear for cyber crime, and social norm for information security influence the level of usefulness, but that the prior experience with information leaking was statistically insignificant factor to the level of usefulness and fear for crime. Useful suggestions for promoting information security and cyber crime prevention are also provided.

  • This study examines knowledge, attitudes and behaviors toward sexual activity among 412 college students in Seoul. An 127-item questionnaire is used in order to understand and consider alcircumstances involved in decisions about sexual activity, and to reflect to the course on healthy sexuality. The major findings are as follows: 1. ‘Books/media’ and ‘friends’ are the primary source of sexual knowledge. 2. Despite the increased number of sxeducation programs, peers apparently remain the major source of information and the counsellor of the sexual problems(71.6%). 3. About ninety percent of males and 14.2 percent of females masurbate. Although mastubation is anormal response to pleasurable bodily feelings, students feel ‘unnatural’, ‘bad’ or ‘guilty’. 4. For some students, sexual intercourse is perceived as the natural outgrowth of love. More than thirty oercent of males and 8. 1 percent of females are engaged in inter -course. 5. Asking parents or teachers to be specific in talking about sex makes it uncomfortable to discuss sex. 6. Sex education should begin in the family and in school in early childhood and continue throughout life. 7. Sexual feelings and emotions are stirred up differently between male and female by sexual sensations. 8. Half of the intimate relationship with opposite sex shows a love relationship with sexual closeness and pleasure. Unguided reading or peers remain the primary source of information about topics like masurbation and sexual technique. Thus, schools should be responsible for the more value-laden subjects (such as birth control, homosexuality, and sexual techniques). And inclusionof a peer education componebt that modified college students' perceived peer norms may be the intervention method of choice. The prevention of health problems is far more desirable than treatment. The earlier the knowledge and skill to make healthful decisions are instilled, the greater the chance a healthful lifestyle will be adopted. School is the logical place in our society to provide the college students learning opportunities essential to developing the knowledge and skills to choose a healthful life course.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the levels and factors influencing perceived knowledge of evidence-based practice(K-EBP) among university librarians. The results were as follows. Variables with significant differences in K-EBP were age, education level, employed type, position, frequency of reading journal articles, and attendance of conference. Multiple regression analysis showed that the predicting factors influencing K-EBP were education level and frequency of reading journal articles. Also, It turned out to be weak in critically appraising and applying research evidence in practice, and in understanding research literature and conducting research among items of K-EBP. For developing university librarians' K-EBP, they need to improve overall research literacy. Library organization and library sectors need to support research activities of librarians. Finally, many different education programs are needed to develop librarians' research skill and to utilize for enlargement of evidence-based practice.
