  • ln this paper, the optimum design of electrical apparatus using design variable parametrization is presented. For analysis and design, the finite element method and the design sensitivity method is used, respectively. By applying the parametrization of the design variables, the obtained designed shape is continuous and smooth. For the parametrization the Bezier spline is used. The designed shape with parametrization is characterized by the control points. By delivering control points to the commercial CAD packages or NC machines, the exact designed shape can be realized in the manufacturing the electrical apparatus. The designed results with and without parametrization are compared and the validity of the parametrization is verified.

  • In this paper, a control system using robust H.inf. controller based on convex parametrization is presented for nonlinear system with uncertainty. accounting for the time delay, noise and linearization error by frequency analysis, the suboptmal controller is designed to meet robust stability and performance for uncertainty. The desinged control system is applied to a nonlimear boiler moderl to test its performances.

  • In this paper, using B-splines as universial approximators, we have obtained a plant parametrization which permits the construction of an adaptive observer. The particular property of this parametrization is that the dynamic order of the filters in this design does not depend on the number of parameters in the plant parametrization. This appears to be a beneficial property especially because the number of such parameters tends to be very high for universial approximator based designs.

  • This paper presents only a matching algorithm based on Delaunay triangulation and Parametrization from the extracted minutiae points. This method maps local neighborhood of points of two different point sets to unit-circle using topology information by Delaunay triangulation method from feature points of real fingerprint. Then, a linked convex polygon that includes an interior point is constructed as one-ring which is mapped to unit-circle using Parametrization that keep shape preserve. In local matching, each area of polygon in unit-circle is compared. If the difference of two areas are within tolerance, two polygons are consider to be matched and then translation, rotation and scaling factors for global matching are calculated.

  • We propose a new design method for a generalized predictive control (GPC) system based on the parametrization of two-degree-of freedom control systems. The objective is to design the GPC system which guarantees the stability of the control system for a perturbed plant. The design procedure of our proposed method consists of three steps. First, we design a basic controller for a nominal plant using the LQG method and parametrize a whole control system. Next, we identify the deviation between the perturbed plant and the nominal one using a closed-loop identification method and design a free parameter of parametrization to stabilize the closed-loop system. Finally, we design a feedforward controller so as to incorporate GPC technique into our controller structure. A numerical example is presented to show the effectiveness of our proposed method.

  • 이 논문에서는 CAGD 및 기하모델링 분야에서 최근 발표된 Universal Parametrization의 계산적 또는 응용적 특성을 고찰하고자 한다. Universal Parametrization을 이용하여 구한 B-spline의 곡선이나 곡면에 아주 자연스러운 특성을 가지고 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 다른 매개변수(Parametrization)을 이용하는 경우, 점들의 기하학적 분포나 곡선/곡면의 차수에 따라 결과의 차이가 심한 경우가 있으나 새로운 방법은 B-spline이라는 기초함수의 특성을 고려한 매개변수법이므로 이러한 결과의 차이를 최대한 줄이는 특성이 있다. 또한 점 데이터에 관해서 Affine Invariant하고 Semi-localness의 특성을 보인다. 이외에도, 계산적인 관점에서 강인성을 보유하고 있고, 많은 응용분야에서 쉽게 자유곡선이나 자유곡면 모델링을 할 수 있도록 한다. 한 예로, 3D 다각형 메쉬로부터 B-spline을 이용한 자유곡면 모델을 구하는 소프트웨어 툴을 설명한다.

Static output feedback pole assignment of 2-input, 2-output, 4th order systems in Grassmann space

  • It is presented in this paper that the static output feedback (SOF) pole-assignment problem of some linear time-invariant systems can be completely resolved by parametrization in real Grassmann space. For the real Grassmannian parametrization, the so-called Plucker matrix is utilized as a linear matrix formula formulated from the SOF variable's coefficients of a characteristic polynomial constrained in Grassmann space. It is found that the exact SOF pole assignability is determined by the linear independency of columns of Plucker sub-matrix and by full-rank of that sub-matrix. It is also presented that previous diverse pole-assignment methods and various computation algorithms of the real SOF gains for 2-input, 2-output, 4th order systems are unified in a deterministic way within this real Grassmannian parametrization method.

  • A new control scheme is proposed in this paper which can cope with varying environment as results of load disturbances, changes of plant dynamics, and failures of components. The objective of this paper is to blend numeric-to-symbolic conversion techniques with linear conventional controllers so as to adapt to the varying environment of the system. The control scheme is based on the parametrization of stabilizing controllers, which is called Kucera/Yula parametrization. The parametrization has been extended to the class of systems which contain numeric-to-symbolic converters. It is shown how the numeric-to-symbolic converters can be blended with the linear controllers.
