  • For the Radio Frequency Integrated Passive Device (RFIPD) application, we have successfully developed and characterized high break-down voltage metal-insulator-metal (MIM) capacitors with 2,000 ${\AA}$ plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) silicon nitride which deposited with $SiH_4/NH_3$ gas mixing rate, working pressure, and RF power of PECVD at $250^{\circ}C$ chamber temperature. At the PECVD process condition of gas mixing rate (0.957), working pressure (0.9 Torr), and RF power (60 W), the AFM RMS value of about 2,000 ${\AA}$ silicon nitride on the bottom metal was the lowest of 0.862 nm and break-down electric field was the highest of about 8.0 MV/cm with the capacitance density of 326.5 $pF/mm^2$.

  • The standard stellar models for $\alpha$ Cen A and B have been constructed without resorting to the arbitrary constraint of the Solar mixing length ratio. Assuming that the chemical compositions and the ages of the two stars are the same, series of models have been constructed. Using the observational constraints, [Z/X], we were able to constrain the number of the 'possible' models. We find that utilizing the observational constraints of [Z/X] the best models for $\alpha$ Cen system are with the initial Z = 0.03, X = 0.66$\~$0.67. In particular, the primary and the secondary stars may have the same mixing length ratio 1.6$\~$1.7, which is the same as that of the calibrated Solar model. And, the age of the system is about 5.4 Gyr. Finally, the large spacing of the p-modes is predicted to be 104 $\pm$ 4$\mu$Hz for $\alpha$ Cen A.

  • Epoxy/S2-glass reinforced composites (SGRPs) infused with Cloisite 30B nanoclays were manufactured using the vacuum assisted resin infusion molding (VARIM) process. Prior to infusion, the matrix and clays were thoroughly mixed using a direct mixing technique (DMT) and a high shear mixing technique (HSMT) to ensure uniform dispersion of the nanoclays. Structures with varying clay contents (1-3 wt%) were manufactured. Both pristine and SGRP nanocomposites were then subjected to mechanical testing. For the specimens manufactured by DMT, the tensile, flexural, and compressive modulus increased with increasing the clay content. Similarly, the tensile, flexural, compressive, interlaminate shear and impact strength increased with the addition of 1 wt% clay: however the trend reversed with further increase in the clay content. Specimens manufactured by HSMT showed superior properties compared to those of nanocomposites containing 1 wt% clay produced by DMT. In order to understand these phenomena a morphological study was conducted. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) micrographs revealed that HSMT led to better dispersion and changed the nanoclay structure from orderly intercalation to disorderly intercalation giving multi-directional strength.

  • Magnetite was prepared by wet method and oil-based magnetic fluid also was prepared by its magnetite. Ahead of making magnetite, we investigated the variation of physical properties for changing $Fe^{3+}/Fe^{2+}$. Through the variation of the process mixing time, pH, magnetite content, we made magnetic fluid of magnetite. We examined the magnetic and frequency property by a toroidal mold. In result $Fe^{3+}/Fe^{2+}=1.2$, over the minute mixing time property of magnetite, Ms was 61.98 emu/g. Moreover, the B-H loop result indicated that the magnetic fluid followed paramagnetic behavior.

  • We studied the optoelectronic properties of hybrid solar cells formed by mixing cadmium sulfide [CdS] nanorods with a conjugated polymer, poly-2-methoxy, 5-[2'-ethy[hexyloxy]-1,4-p-phenylenevinylene[MEH-PPV]. CdS nanorods were grown vertically on Ti substrates by electrochemical deposition through a porous alumina template. Absorption spectrum of the composite layer was the same as the superposition of the absorption spectrum of each individual layer. The photoluminescence signal from MEH-PPV film was reduced as a result of the mixing. The energy conversion efficiency of MEH-PPV improved from $0.0012\%$ to about $0.60\%$ when combined with the vertically aligned CdS nanorods.

  • This study is conducted to provide useful fertilizer or soil conditioner of sludge from nightsoil treatment plant. Several possibilities present themselves. The major sink for disposal of waste sludge is the land, and in this case values will be measured primarily in terms of agricultural benefits. According to the result of sludge drying experiment, the drying rate with mixing once a day was more increased by three times than the state without mixing. And in sludge, N was 7-9%, P was 0.85-4.14%, and coliform groups in dried sludge were 75 MPN/gr.

  • Let ${Y_i;-\infty<i<\infty}$ be a doubly infinite sequence of identically distributed and $\phi$-mixing random variables with zero means and finite variances and ${a_i;-\infty<i<\infty}$ an absolutely summable sequence of real numbers. In this paper, we prove the complete moment convergence of ${{\sum}_{k=1}^{n}\;{\sum}_{i=-\infty}^{\infty}\;a_{i+k}Y_i/n^{1/p};n\geq1}$ under some suitable conditions.

  • Microcystis aeruginosa (M. aeruginosa) is a cyanobacterium species that can form harmful algal blooms in freshwater bodies worldwide. The use of pine needle extract (PNE) to control nuisance algae by allelopathic inhibition will be environmentally friendly and promising. PNE removed successfully upto 98% of M. aeruginosa at the following optimal conditions: pH 7, $25^{\circ}C$ of temperature, 100 rpm of mixing rate, 5 min of mixing time. These results was indicated that the amount of 1 g/L PNE was removed 1g dryweight/L of M. aeruginosa. The kinetic data showed substrate inhibition kinetics and maximum growth rate was obtained when the M. aeruginosa was grown in medium containing 0.5 g/L of initial concentration of PNE. Different substrate inhibition models were fitted to the kinetic data and found the Luong model was best. The model predicted kinetic parameters were in agreement with the experimental findings. The natural extract, PNE, can be a promising inhibition due to its high efficiency and low dose requirements.

  • The objective of this study is to present the reference data about the influence of concrete properties using crushed sand, according to the change of powder content and grain shape. From the test results. We obtained that as powder content is increased, sand aggregate ratio, water content and S.P/C are increased in mixing design of concrete. The more powder content is the less slump and air content loss are decreased in fresh state, but the higher compressive strength and drying shrinkage are increased in hardened concrete state. As grain shape become round, water content is decreased in mixing design of concrete. And also, loss of slump and air content in fresh state, compressive strength in hardened state are increased.

  • Colloid silica using as abrasive for polishing sapphire has been extensively studied, which mechanism has also been deeply discussed. However, by the requirement of application enlargement and cost reduction, some new problems appear such as silica service life time, particle diameter mixing, etc. In this paper, several influences of colloid silica usage on sapphire CMP are examined. Results show particle diameter and concentration, pH value, service life time, particle diameter mixing heavily influence removal rate. Further analysis discloses there are two main effect aspects which are quantity of hydroxyl group, contact area for abrasive density stacking between abrasive and sapphire. Based on the discussions, a dynamic process of sapphire polishing is proposed.
