GENERALIZED WEYL'S THEOREM FOR ALGEBRAICALLY $k$-QUASI-PARANORMAL OPERATORS

  • An operator $T\;{\varepsilon}\;B(\mathcal{H})$ is said to be $k$-quasi-paranormal operator if $||T^{k+1}x||^2\;{\leq}\;||T^{k+2}x||\;||T^kx||$ for every $x\;{\epsilon}\;\mathcal{H}$, $k$ is a natural number. This class of operators contains the class of paranormal operators and the class of quasi - class A operators. In this paper, using the operator matrix representation of $k$-quasi-paranormal operators which is related to the paranormal operators, we show that every algebraically $k$-quasi-paranormal operator has Bishop's property ($\beta$), which is an extension of the result proved for paranormal operators in [32]. Also we prove that (i) generalized Weyl's theorem holds for $f(T)$ for every $f\;{\epsilon}\;H({\sigma}(T))$; (ii) generalized a - Browder's theorem holds for $f(S)$ for every $S\;{\prec}\;T$ and $f\;{\epsilon}\;H({\sigma}(S))$; (iii) the spectral mapping theorem holds for the B - Weyl spectrum of T.

Socioeconomic Status and Number of Children Among Korean Women: The Healthy Twin Study

  • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate whether the birth rate is associated with socioeconomic status in the women of the Republic of Korea, where the birth rate is rapidly decreasing. Methods: This study included 732 females from the Healthy Twin Study, a family-twin cohort. The participants were classified into 3 socioeconomic groups according to their average income, education, and occupation. The association between socioeconomic status and number of children was assessed using gamma regression analysis with a generalized linear mixed model, adjusting for the age group, smoking/alcohol status, and family relationships. Results: The group with the highest education level had significantly fewer children compared with the group with the lowest education level (p=0.004). However, no significant associations were found according to household income level. The non-manual labor group had significantly fewer children compared with those working as homemakers (p=0.008). Conclusions: This study aimed to explain the causal relationship between socioeconomic status and number of children. Associations between some socioeconomic status and number of children were found in Korea.

과개교합자의 저작근 활성도 및 교합력에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE BITE FORCE AND THE ELECTROMYOGRAPHIC ACTIVITY OF MASTICATORY MUSCLE IN DEEPBITE)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 T-Scan system과 근전도를 이용하여 정상교합자와 과개교합자의 최대교합력과 근활성도간의 상관관계를 조사하기 위함이다. 연구대상은 두 집단으로 구성 되었다. 한 집단은 20명의 정상교합자이고 다른 집단은 30명의 과개교합자이다. 과개교합자는 Class I deepbite(9명의 남자와 7명의 여자)와 Class II div. 1 deepbite(8명의 남자와 6명의 여자)로 구성되었다. 이 연구로부터 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 최대교합력은 정상교합군에서 155.93 N, I급 과개교합군에서 165.11 N, II 1류 과개교합군에선 111.55 N이었으며, II급 1류 과개교합군의 최대교합력은 정상교합군에 비해 유의성 있게 낮았다(P<0.01). 2. 정상교합군과 과개교합군 모두에서 치야접촉점이 증가할수록 교합력은 증가하였다(표 3). 3. 최대교합시 II급 1류 과개교합군의 교근 및 전측두근의 근활성도는 전상교합군에 비해 현저히 낮았고(P<0.01),모든 군에서 교근의 활성도가 전측두근보다 높았다(P<0.05). 4. 모든 군에서 교합력과 근활성도, 치아접촉점의 수와 근활성도는 높은 상관관계를 보였다(표 5).

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the general characteristics of school health teachers, the status of school health resources and the degrees of self-confident performance for the 124 school health teachers in Pusan City. Data was collected by means of questionaires from Aug. 1986 to Mar. 1987. The data were analyzed by use of percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson-correlation coefficient. The results of this study were as follows: 1 . General Characteristics of School Health Teachers (SHT) 1) The average of age of the SHT was 32.8 years old and 39.5% of them were from 30 to 34 years old. 2) The average for school nursing experience of the SHT was 7.9 years and 37.9% of them were from 5 to 9 years. 3) The 45.2% of them have not the clinical experience. 4) The 74.2% of them were graduated from the 3 years college of nursing. 2. Status of school health resources and nursing activities. 1) The average of student number was 2497.3 and class number was 45.2. 2) The average of school health budget was 1039000 won and 27.7% of school health budget expended on examination cost. 3) Only 29.0% of all schools have organization for school health. 4) The 84.7% of all schools have health clinic separately and 69.1% of schools have less than $33m^2$ sized. 5) The average of clinic visitor number was 2111.8 for 1 year. 6) Major problem was on digestive system. And other problems were skin, respiratory, musculo-skeletal system and dental problem. 7) The number of literal message was 14.4 times for 1 year. 3. The degree of the school health teachers' self-confidence. SKEW CYCLIC CODES OVER Fp + vFp

  • In this paper, we study a special class of linear codes, called skew cyclic codes, over the ring $R=F_p+vF_p$, where $p$ is a prime number and $v^2=v$. We investigate the structural properties of skew polynomial ring $R[x,{\theta}]$ and the set $R[x,{\theta}]/(x^n-1)$. Our results show that these codes are equivalent to either cyclic codes or quasi-cyclic codes. Based on this fact, we give the enumeration of distinct skew cyclic codes over R.

  • Let X be a closed, oriented, Riemannian 4-manifold with ${{b_2}^+}(x)\;>\;1$ and of simple type. Suppose that ${\sigma}\;:\;X\;{\rightarrow}\;X$ is an involution preserving orientation with an oriented, connected, compact 2-dimensional submanifold $\Sigma$ as a fixed point set with ${\Sigma\cdot\Sigma}\;{\geq}\;0\;and\;[\Sigma]\;{\neq}\;0\;{\in}\;H_2(X;\mathbb{Z})$. We show that if _X(\Sigma)\;+\;{\Sigma\cdots\Sigma}\;{\neq}\;0$ then the $Spin^{C}$ bundle $\={P}$ is not $\mathbb{Z}_2-equivariant$, where det $\={P}\;=\;L$ is a basic class with $c_1(L)[\Sigma]\;=\;0$.

세종시 일부 초등학생의 과외수강에 따른 생활습관, 식태도 및 식행동에 대한 연구 (A Study on Life Styles, Dietary Attitudes and Dietary Behaviors According to Extracurricular Activities of Elementary Students in Sejong)

  • 초등학교 4~6학년의 학령기는 정신적, 신체적으로 급격히 성장하는 중요한 시기로 영양태도 및 식습관 형성이 확립되고 이는 곧 성인기까지 이어진다. 본 연구는 세종특별자치시 초등학교에 다니는 4~6학년 550명을 대상으로 학생들의 과외학습 실태, 수강 시간에 따른 식태도 및 식행동을 조사하여 과외학습의 정도가 학령기 아동의 생활습관, 식태도 및 식행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 조사대상자 중 남학생 270명(49.1%), 여학생 280명(50.9%)이었으며, 과외를 받지 않는 무수강군은 66명(12.0%), 과외를 받고 있는 학생은 484명(88.0%)이었다. 주당 평균 수강 시간은 7.34시간이었으며, 과외학습 종류의 수는 저수강군 2.11개, 중수강군 2.51개, 고수강군 3.27개였다. 기상시간은 아침 6~7시가 가장 많았고, 고수강군은 기상시간이 가장 늦었으며, 깨워야 일어난다는 학생비율이 높았다. 취침시간은 수강군별 유의한 차이를 보여 밤 11~12시에 취침하는 학생이 고수강군에서 가장 많았다(P<0.01). 수면 만족도에서 '수면이 부족하다'는 비율은 고수강군이 더 높았으나, 유의적 차이는 없었다. 스트레스가 많다는 학생은 유의적 차이는 없었으나 저수강군보다 고수강군이 많았다. 식태도의 평균 점수는 무수강군 3.88점, 저수강군 3.90점, 중수강군 3.80점, 고수강군 3.85점으로 저수강군이 가장 높았다(P<0.001). 식사 빈도는 수강군 간에 유의적 차이는 없었으나, 고수강군이 저수강군보다 아침을 먹지 않는다는 학생들이 많았다. 과외학습을 받는 학생에서 '학원에 굶고 간다'와 '사 먹고 학원에 간다'는 고수강군일수록 많았으며(각 P<0.01), '내가 챙겨 먹는다'는 학생은 고수강군일수록 많았으나 유의적 차이는 없었다. '학원가기 전 먹는 간식이 영양적으로 괜찮다고 생각한다'는 질문에 '그렇다'고 응답한 학생은 고수강군이 더 많았고, '아니다'라고 응답한 학생은 저수강군이 가장 많아 4군 간 유의한 차이를 보였다(P<0.001). 과외학습을 받기 전 주로 먹는 음식의 종류는 과일, 우유, 떡, 감자 등을 먹는 학생이 가장 많았다. 반면 패스트푸드와 인스턴트를 자주 먹는 비율이 고수강군이 높게 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과를 종합하면, 과외학습 수강 시간이 많아질수록 수면이 부족하고 스트레스를 더 많이 받는 경향을 보였다. 식태도는 수강상태에 따른 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않은 반면, 실제적인 식행동은 과외수강 상태와 유의적인 관련성을 보여, 고수강군의 학생들일수록 학원에 굶고 가거나 외식을 하는 비율이 높고, 패스트푸드나 인스턴트 음식을 사먹는 비율이 높았다. 본 연구결과를 통해 지나친 과외학습은 아동의 생활습관 및 식습관에 영향을 주어 건강 및 정상적인 성장발달에도 좋지 않은 영향을 미칠 가능성이 제시되었다. 따라서 가정에서 자녀들의 학습에 대한 관심 증가에 따라서 식생활 및 영양문제에도 많은 관심을 가져야 하며, 가정과 학교 및 지역사회가 연계된 아동들의 식사 및 영양지도가 강화되어야 할 것이다.

일 대학병원 호스피스 병동 입원 환자의 간호활동시간 측정과 원가산정 (Determination of Cost and Measurement of nursing Care Hours for Hospice Patients Hospitalized in one University Hospital)

  • This study was designed to determine the cost and measurement of nursing care hours for hospice patients hostpitalized in one university hospital. 314 inpatients in the hospice unit 11 nursing manpower were enrolled. Study was taken place in C University Hospital from 8th to 28th, Nov, 1999. Researcher and investigator did pilot study for selecting compatible hospice patient classification indicators. After modifying patient classification indicators and nursing care details for general ward, approved of content validity by specialist. Using hospice patient classification indicators and per 5 min continuing observation method, researcher and investigator recorded direct nursing care hours, indirect nursing care hours, and personnel time on hospice nursing care hours, and personnel time on hospice nursing care activities sheet. All of the patients were classified into Class I(mildly ill), Class II (moderately ill), Class III (acutely ill), and Class IV (critically ill) by patient classification system (PCS) which had been carefully developed to be suitable for the Korean hospice ward. And then the elements of the nursing care cost was investigated. Based on the data from an accounting section (Riccolo, 1988), nursing care hours per patient per day in each class and nursing care cost per patient per hour were multiplied. And then the mean of the nursing care cost per patient per day in each class was calculated. Using SAS, The number of patients in class and nursing activities in duty for nursing care hours were calculated the percent, the mean, the standard deviation respectively. According to the ANOVA and the $Scheff{\'{e}$ test, direct nursing care hours per patient per day for the each class were analyzed. The results of this study were summarized as follows : 1. Distribution of patient class : class IN(33.5%) was the largest class the rest were class II(26.1%) class III(22.6%), class I(17.8%). Nursing care requirements of the inpatients in hospice ward were greater than that of the inpatients in general ward. 2. Direct nursing care activities : Measurement ${\cdot}$ observation 41.7%, medication 16.6%, exercise ${\cdot}$ safety 12.5%, education ${\cdot}$ communication 7.2% etc. The mean hours of direct nursing care per patient per day per duty were needed ; 69.3 min for day duty, 64.7 min for evening duty, 88.2 min for night duty, 38.7 min for shift duty. The mean hours of direct nursing care of night duty was longer than that of the other duty. Direct nursing care hours per patient per day in each class were needed ; 3.1 hrs for class I, 3.9 hrs for class II, 4.7 hrs for class III, and 5.2 hrs for class IV. The mean hours of direct nursing care per patient per day without the PCS was 4.1 hours. The mean hours of direct nursing care per patient per day in class was increased significantly according to increasing nursing care requirements of the inpatients(F=49.04, p=.0001). The each class was significantly different(p<0.05). The mean hours of direct nursing care of several direct nursing care activities in each class were increased according to increasing nursing care requirements of the inpatients(p<0.05) ; class III and class IV for medication and education ${\cdot}$ communication, class I, class III and class IV for measurement ${\cdot}$ observation, class I, class II and class IV for elimination ${\cdot}$ irrigation, all of class for exercise ${\cdot}$ safety. 3. Indirect nursing care activities and personnel time : Recognization 24.2%, house keeping activity 22.7%, charting 17.2%, personnel time 11.8% etc. The mean hours of indirect nursing care and personnel time per nursing manpower was 4.7 hrs. The mean hours of indirect nursing care and personnel time per duty were 294.8 min for day duty, 212.3 min for evening duty, 387.9 min for night duty, 143.3 min for shift duty. The mean of indirect nursing care hours and personnel time of night duty was longer than that of the other duty. 4. The mean hours of indirect nursing care and personnel time per patient per day was 2.5 hrs. 5. The mean hours of nursing care per patient per day in each class were class I 5.6 hrs, class II 6.4 hrs, class III 7.2 hrs, class IV 7.7 hrs. 6. The elements of the nursing care cost were composed of 2,212 won for direct nursing care cost, 267 won for direct material cost and 307 won for indirect cost. Sum of the elements of the nursing care cost was 2,786 won. 7. The mean cost of the nursing care per patient per day in each class were 15,601.6 won for class I, 17,830.4 won for class II, 20,259.2 won for class III, 21,452.2 won for class IV. As above, using modified hospice patient classification indicators and nursing care activity details, many critical ill patients were hospitalized in the hospice unit and it reflected that the more nursing care requirements of the patients, the more direct nursing care hours. Emotional ${\cdot}$ spiritual care, pain ${\cdot}$ symptom control, terminal care, education ${\cdot}$ communication, narcotics management and delivery, attending funeral ceremony, the major nursing care activities, were also the independent hospice service. But it is not compensated by the present medical insurance system. Exercise ${\cdot}$ safety, elimination ${\cdot}$ irrigation needed more nursing care hours as equal to that of intensive care units. The present nursing management fee in the medical insurance system compensated only a part of nursing car service in hospice unit, which rewarded lower cost that that of nursing care.

승갈탕(升葛湯)을 사용한 아토피 피부염 환자에 대한 임상시험 (A Clinical Research about the Effects of Seunggaltang on Patients with Atopic Dermatitis)

  • Objective : The purpose of this clinical research was to investigate the effects of Seunggaltang on patients with atopic dermatitis. Methods : Thirteen patients were treated with Seunggaltang and ten patients were treated with placebo for 8 weeks. We observed skin humidity, skin sebum,, transepidermal water loss, skin melanin, skin erythema, total IgE class and number of allergen. And Clinic Index of Atopic Dermatitis(Extent, Intensity, Subjective symptoms, Total score) was used to evaluate the effects of Seunggaltang. Statistical analysis was performed by using paired sample T-test. Statistical significance was achieved if the probability was less than 5%(P<0.05). The result were as follows : 1. Statistically, Seunggaltang didn't showed significant effect on skin humidity, skin sebum, skin transepidermal water loss, skin melanin and skin erythema. 2. Statistically, Seunggaltang showed significant effect on Clinic Index of atopic dermatitis. 3. Statistically, Seunggaltang didn't showed significant effect on total IgE class and number of allergen. 4. Before and after treatment, the results of blood test and urinalysis were normal. Conclusion : We speculate that Seunggaltang has some therapeutic effects in mitigating the symptoms of atopic dermatitis.

Copyright Protection of E-books by Data Hiding Based on Integer Factorization

  • A data hiding method based on integer factorization via e-books in the EPUB format with XHTML and CSS files for copyright protection is proposed. Firstly, a fixed number m of leading bits in a message are transformed into an integer which is then factorized to yield k results. One of the k factorizations is chosen according to the decimal value of a number n of the subsequent message bits with n being decided as the binary logarithm of k. Next, the chosen factorization, denoted as a × b, is utilized to create a combined use of the

    and elements in the XHTML files to embed the m + n message bits by including into the two elements a class selector named according to the value of a as well as a text segment with b characters. The class selector is created by the use of a CSS pseudo-element. The resulting web pages are of no visual difference from the original, achieving a steganographic effect. The security of the embedded message is also considered by randomizing the message bits before they are embedded. Good experimental results and comparisons with exiting methods show the feasibility of the proposed method for copyright protection of e-books.
