This study was carried out to analyze the organic acids, polyphenols, pigments and fiber materials concentration with a different stalk position and grade of korean leaf tobaccos. Eight kinds of flue-cured leaf tobaccos which were different stalk position and grade were used for this study. Three kinds of major organic acids(citric, malic and oxalic), 2 kinds of polyphenols(chlorogenic acid and rutin), 3 kinds of pigments($\beta$-carotene, chlorophyll-a and chlorophyll-b), and 2 kinds of fiber components(pectin and lignin) were analyzed. All of these chemical components were changed with a different stalk position. When the citric acid, malic acid, $\beta-carotene$, chlorophyll-a, and lignin concentration were low in the middle stalk position and high in both bottom and upper position, oxalic acid and chlorogenic acid show the highest concentration in the middle stalk position. All of these chemical components also changed with a different grade of leaf tobaccos. As the citric acid, malic acid, $\beta-carotene$, chlorophyll-b, and lignin concentration decreased as the grade ascended, the oxalic acid and chlorogenic acid concentration increased as the grade ascended. This results assumed that the quality of korean leaf tobacco was directly proportional to oxalic acid and chlorogenic acid concentration but it was inversely proportional to citric acid, malic acid, $\beta-carotene$, chlorophyll-b and lignin concentration.
Silica-based ceramic-matrix composites have shown promise as advanced materials for many applications such as chemical catalysts, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, and electronics. $SiO_2$-CuO-$CeO_2$ multi-component powders and their thin film, using an oxalic acid template as a chelating agent, have larger surface areas and more uniform pore size distribution than those of inorganic acid catalysts. $SiO_2$-CuO-$CeO_2$ composite powders were synthesized using tetraethylorthosilicate, copper (II) nitrate hemi (pentahydrate), and cerium (III) nitrate hexahydrate with oxalic acid as template or pore-forming agent. The process of thermal evolution, the phase composition, and the surface morphology of these powders were monitored by thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDXS). The mesoporous property of the powders was observed by Brunner-Emmett-Teller surface (BET) analysis. The improved surface area of this powder template with oxalic acid was $371.4m^2/g$. This multi-component thin film on stainless-steel was prepared by sol-gel dip coating with no cracks.
The determination of fluoride and the nutritious calcium in infusion of teas are explained. Tea leaves were pulverized and were immersed in boiling water. The solution was filtered and fluoride, calcium and oxalic acid were determined by the ion chromatography. The quantities of fluoride, calcium and oxalate ions extracted from 100 g of tea leaves were calculated. Tea leaves were also immersed in 0.5 M hydrochloric acid and extracted oxalate and calcium ions were analyzed. The free oxalic acid and calcium were extracted in boiling water and the total ones were extracted in hydrochloric acid. The quantity of calcium oxalate was calculated from the total and the free oxalic acids. The free calcium was estimated to be nutritious.
Study investigated the optimal anodizing conditions for fabricating an oxide film that produces less contamination in a corrosive plasma environment, using oxalic acid and tartaric acid. Oxide films were produced using sulfuric acid, oxalic acid, and tartaric acid electrolyte mixtures with various mole ratios. The oxide film made by adding 0.05M tartaric acid to 0.3M oxalic acid showed higher breakdown voltage and lower leakage current. Additionally, contamination particles were reduced during plasma etching, thus demonstrates that this mixture presented optimal conditions. However, higher tartaric acid content (0.1 M, 0.15 M) led to lower breakdown voltages and higher leakage currents. Also, it resulted in more cracking during thermal shock tests as well as the generation of more contamination particles during plasma processing.
The spent petroleum catalysts contain rare metals such as vanadium, nickel, molybdenum, and cobalt. Therefore, the leaching of these rare metals from spent petroleum catalysts by organic acid was investigated in the present study. The leaching efficiency of metals by organic acid was in the following order: oxalic acid > tartaric acid > citric acid > maleic acid > ascorbic acid. Among the organic acids employed in this work, oxalic acid can be considered to be superior to the other acids in terms of metals leaching efficiency. The effect of several leaching conditions such as temperature, acid concentration, pulp density, stirring speed, and reaction time on the leaching of metals was investigated. Vanadium and molybdenum were selectively dissolved by oxalic acid from the spent catalysts. The leaching kinetics of vanadium by oxalic acid was also investigated. An activation energy of 8.76 kJ/mol indicated that the leaching kinetics of vanadium by oxalic acid solution was controlled by mass transfer.

When the cotton/polyester fiber mixed fabrics were treated with ferrous sulfate and oxalic acid for burn out finishing, it was examined how the effects of process conditions as concentration of burn out agents, temperature, time and pressure act onto the properties of polyester ground fabrics. The results are as follows. The effect of burn out finishing by pressure was greated in 3 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The properties as white index and tensile strength of polyester ground fabrics were decreased according as processing concentration, temperature time increases. The shrinkage was increased according as processing concentration, temperature time increases. The optimum condition of burn out agents to ferrous sulfate was 30% concentration, 150$^{\circ}C$, 1 min, 3 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and to oxalic acid was 10% concentration, 110$^{\circ}C$, 1min, 3 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$. And the optimum of ferrous sulfate and oxalic acid used in combination was 10% ferrous sulfate and 7% oxalic acid, 110$^{\circ}C$, 1 min., 3 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$.
In this study, we investigated optimal reaction conditions for furfural production from lignocellulosic biomass by two-stage acid treatment. Furfural produced by this method was recovered using XAD-4 resin. Oxalic and sulfuric acid were used as catalysts for the first stage of treatment. The concentration of xylose in the hydrolysate obtained from the first stage was $18.86g/{\ell}$ with oxalic acid and $19.35g/{\ell}$ with sulfuric acid. The concentration of oligosaccharide was relatively high when sulfuric acid was used. Maximum yield of furfural, that is, 55.10% ($6.71g/{\ell}$), was obtained when oxalic acid was used for the first stage and $0.1m{\ell}$ of sulfuric acid was used for the second stage of treatment for 90 min. Furfural production yield increased with increasing the reaction time. Most of the furfural produced by this two-stage treatment method was recovered using XAD-4 resin.
The characteristic of calcined BaTiO3 powder and sintered PTC ceramics was investigated varing with calcination temperature and time of BaTiO(C2O4)2.4H2O synthesized from BaCl2.2H2O, TiCl4, oxalic acid and ethanol by oxalic acid method. When the particle size was less than 0.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ by controlling calcination temperature and time, the resistance at room temperature was measured very high (above M{{{{ OMEGA }}). However, when the calcined particle sizes ranged from 0.2 to 0.3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, the resistance was 100 {{{{ OMEGA }} (After sintering, the grain size was 10~30 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ homogeneously with the addition of dopant in sintering, the resistivity, resistance, $\alpha$ value and jumped to were 110{{{{ OMEGA }}.cm, 24$^{\circ}C$/% and 106{{{{ OMEGA }}, respectively.
A novel-type of structurally simple fluorescent chemosensor for oxalic acid was designed, synthesized, and evaluated to show that it detects oxalic acid in methanol with high selectivity over other anions including monoand dibasic carboxylic acids.

We have developed a method that can leach Co, Mn, and Ni in the cathode active material safely using lactic acid. When cathode active material was leached by lactic acid, lactic acid showed the highest efficiency at 2 N than 1 N and above 4 N concentration. When the cathode active material was added incrementally into the solution of lactic acid, the maximum solubility was 30 g/L at 2 N concentration. Oxalic acid was added in the solution of lactic acid and it showed that rare metals represent the most economical recovery efficiency at 4 g/L. Based on this study, it was found that the optimal condition for recovery of rare metals from cathode active material is oxalic acid : cathode active material = 7 : 1 as a ratio of weight. In addition, it was observed that the precipitate produced by oxalic acid is a polynuclear crystalline material bonded with 3 components of Co, Ni, and Mn.
