한국 벤처기업의 기업가정신과 기업내부상황특성이 해외진출에 미치는 영향에 관한 탐색적 연구 (A Study on the Corporate Internal Factors Influencing the Motivation and Performance for Overseas Expansion of Korean Ventures)

  • 정부 산업정책의 전략적 지원단위인 벤처기업의 지속가능한 성장을 위해 해외진출의 중요성이 강조되는 경영환경 하에서, 본 연구는 벤처기업의 해외진출과 이에 따른 성과에 영향을 미치는 기업의 내부상황특성을 규명하고, 기업가정신과 해외진출동기 및 성과 간의 영향관계에 있어 내부상황특성의 영향력을 탐색하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이에 따라, 본 연구는 내부상황특성으로 기업업력, 조직규모, 해외경험 및 조직구조로 대변된 조직자원과 혁신성, 진취성, 위험감수성으로 구성된 기업가정신을 설정하였다. 2010 벤처기업 정밀실태조사 데이터를 활용하여 연구목적을 충족하는 기업을 층화표본추출한 후 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 개별기업으로부터 회수된 총 289개의 응답데이터를 다중회귀모델을 통해 분석하였다. 내부상황특성 중 기업업력과 조직규모는 기업가정신과 해외진출동기 간의 영향관계에는 조절효과가 확인되지 않았으나 진출성과 간의 영향관계에 있어 유의한 조절효과를 보여주었다. 해외경험과 조직구조는 해외진출동기 및 진출성과 모두에 대하여 기업가정신과 결합할 경우 유의한 조절효과가 형성되는 것으로 확인되었다. 이상의 결과는 조직의 상황특성과 기업가정신으로 대변되는 내부자원특성이 벤처기업의 해외진출결정에 분명한 영향관계를 가질 뿐만 아니라 지속적인 진출성과를 달성하는 데에 유효성을 갖고 있음을 의미하며, 내부상황특성과 기업가정신이 적절히 결합될 경우 효과적인 해외진출과 우수한 진출성과가 창출될 수 있음을 의미한다. 본 연구의 결론에서는 분석결과에 대한 해석을 포함하여, 벤처기업의 해외진출을 촉진시키기 위한 경영활동방향과 성과제고를 위한 정책적 시사점을 제시한다.

해외직구 콘텐츠 속성과 물류 속성이 소비자의 지각된 가치 및 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effects of Overseas Direct Purchase Content Attributes and Logistics Attributes on Consumer's Perceived Value and Purchase Intention)

  • 정보통신기술의 발전으로 국경의 구분이 없어지고, 소비자의 니즈가 다양화되게 됨에 따라 해외직구라는 새로운 소비 형태가 등장하고, 지난 수 년간 성장세를 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 해외직구의 다양한 유형 중 가장 보편적인 구매대행 서비스에 대하여, 해외직구 플랫폼이 지니는 콘텐츠 속성과 물류적 속성이 소비자의 지각된 가치와 구매의도에 미치는 실증연구를 시행하였다. 해외직구와 관련한 정보탐색 경험이 있는 국내 남녀 성인 소비자 273명을 통해 자료를 수집하고, 통계적 분석을 시행한 결과는 다음과 같이 요약된다. 첫째, 해외직구 콘텐츠 속성과 물류 속성 중 콘텐츠의 매력성만이 소비자의 지각된 가치에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 소비자의 지각된 가치는 모두 구매의도로 연결되었으나, 이들 중 감각적 가치가 더욱 큰 영향력을 지녔다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통해, 해외직구 서비스 대행자들의 웹/앱 콘텐츠에서 매력성을 배가시켜야 하며, 변화한 소비자의 니즈에 맞도록 감각적 소비경험을 불러일으킬 수 있는 서비스의 질적 제고를 제안하였다.

영화제작인력들의 해외활동 참여욕구에 관한 연구 : 이분형 로지스틱 분석 및 한계효과분석을 중심으로 (A Study of Film Crews' Needs to Participate in Overseas Production : On the Basis of Binary Logistics Analysis and Marginal Effect Method)

  • 본 연구는 숙련된 영화제작인력의 해외제작 및 합작작업 참여의 활성화는 국내 영화산업현장의 열악한 처우와 경력장애 문제로 인한 이직문제를 감소시킬 수 있는 대안이 될 수 있다는 인식을 토대로 영화제작인력들이 해외활동에 참여하여 활동하고자 하는 욕구 정도와 이에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 실증적으로 규명하고 함의를 모색하였다. 본 연구를 위해 다양한 영역에서 활동하고 있는 영화제작인력 402명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 얻은 자료를 SPSS와 STATA를 사용하여 이항 로지스틱 및 한계효과분석을 실시하였다. 자료분석을 통해 발견한 주요사실들은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 응답자(영화제작인력)의 약65%(263명)이 해외활동 참여하고자 하는 욕구를 표명하여, 상당수의 영화제작인력들이 해외프로덕션과의 활동기회를 기대하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 영화제작인력들이 해외활동에 참여하고자 하는 욕구를 가지게 하는데 긍정적인 효과를 미치는 주요 요인들로는 전문역량, 예술가 정체성, 한류 지속인식, 그리고 경력장애 등으로 밝혀졌다. 즉, 전문역량이 높을수록, 예술가로서의 정체성이 뚜렷할수록, 한류가 지속될 가능성에 대해 긍정적인 기대를 할수록, 그리고 경력장애 문제를 심각하게 인식할수록 해외 제작 및 합작작업 활동에 대한 참여욕구가 보다 더 분명하게 드러났다.

Development of Lifetime Assessment and Rehabilitation Cost Calculation Methods for Overseas ROMM Project

  • Regarding the implementation of ROMM project (Rehabilitation, Operation, Maintenance & Management), which is one of overseas development projects, it is very important to diagnose the exact current status of aged thermal power plant. However, when people visit the power plant for the purpose of prediagnosis to implement the ROMM project, most target power plants for diagnosis, in general, are under operation. This can be a big interference factor to diagnose the exact current status of power plants. Therefore, in order to solve such interference factor, based on the 30 years of know-how in the field, the present study has developed a regression curve for a simple life time assessment and the calculation of rehabilitation cost that may be used as a reference relatively for the quantitative diagnosis on the status of a relevant power plant even during the operation of the power plant.

해외진출 국내 프랜차이즈기업의 조직특성 (Organizational Factors Facilitating the Internationalization of Korean Franchising Companies)

  • Franchising is one of the fastest growing types of business. It is already popular and well-known in the U.S., and has been growing in many other countries including Korea. Furthermore, many Korean franchising companies have expanded their business overseas actively. According to the data by the Ministry of Industry and Resource, 82 companies out of a sample of 500 franchising companies are already operating in many foreign countries and 48% of them have started their foreign business since 2006. This clearly indicates the fast growing current trend of foreign operation by Korean franchising companies. In spite of the fast growing trend of foreign expansion in the industry, academic research on internationalization of franchising companies is extremely difficult to find. Accordingly, academic research on the issue is necessary and urgent in Korea. Among the various research questions on internationalization of franchising business, this study intends to investigate the difference in organizational factors between the franchising companies doing foreign operation and those doing business only domestically. More specifically, this research has the following purposes. First, considering the lack of theoretical basis of previous studies, resource-based theory and agency theory are employed as the theoretical bases. Second, this study explains the difference in internationalization based on organizational factors such as company size, history and growth rate. Third, the five hypotheses regarding the difference in organizational factors are presented and tested empirically, which is the first attempt in the area of this topic. Finally, the study attempts to clarify the conflicting implications among theories regarding some organizational factos such as growth rate. As the theoretical background, resource-based theory and agency theory are discussed. According to resource-based theory, a firm can grow continuously when it has competence and resource, and also the ability to develop them. The competence and resource can include capital, human resource, management skill, market information, ability to manage risk, etc. Meanwhile, agency theory views the relationship between franchisor and franchisee as an agency relationship. In agency theory, bonding capability and monitoring capability are the two key factors which promote internationalization of franchising companies. Based on the two theories, a conceptual model is designed. The model consists of two groups of variables. One is organizational factors including size, history, growth rate, price bonding and geographic dispersion. The other is whether a franchising company is operating overseas or not. We developed the following five research hypotheses basically describing the relationship between organizational factors and internationalization of franchising companies. H1: The size of franchising companies operating overseas is larger than that of franchising companies operating domestically. H2: The history of franchising companies operating overseas is longer than that of franchising companies operating domestically. H3: The growth rate of franchising companies operating overseas is higher than that of franchising companies operating domestically. H4: The price bonding of franchising companies operating overseas is higher than that of franchising companies operating domestically. H5: The geographic dispersion of franchising companies operating overseas is wider than that of franchising companies operating domestically. Data for the analyses are obtained from 2005 Korea Franchise Survey data co-generated by Ministry of Industry and Resource, GS1 Korea, and Korea Franchise Association. Out of 2,804 population companies, 2,489 companies are excluded for various reasons and 315 companies are selected as the final sample. Prior to hypotheses tests, validity and reliability of the measures of size, history, growth rate and price bonding are examined for further analyses. Geographic dispersion is not validated since it is measured using nominal data. A series of independent sample T-tests is used to find out whether there exists any significant difference between the companies internationalized and those operating only domestically for each organizational factor. Among the five factors, size and geographic dispersion show significant difference, growth rate and price bonding do not reveal any difference and, finally, history factor shows conflicting results in the difference depending on how to measure it.

In conclusion, the results show that the size and history, which are the key variables in resource-based theory, have a significant relationship with internationalization and that geographic area, which belongs to agency theory, also has a strong relationship with internationalization. The results support the findings of extant research and, therefore, prove the usefulness of resource-based theory and agency theory in explaining internationalization of franchising companies. However, growth rate and price-bonding do not show a clear difference between the two types of companies. Accordingly, these two factors need further attention in the future research. Although this study shows meaningful findings theoretically and practically, it has several limitations. First, only organizational factors are considered even if there are various environmental factors influencing franchising firm's internationalization. Second, only being internationalized or not is considered. That is, modes of entry and the size of foreign operations are not included in the study. Third, internationalization strategy is often determined based on the desire for business expansion and higher profitability and egoistical reasons of the CEOs. However, this type of factors belonging to behavioral science is not discussed in the study. Finally, organizational ecology perspective is usefully applicable in explaining the survival and performance of internationally operating companies. Accordingly, research propositions based on this perspective need to be developed and tested.

  • 장수명주택 해외진출을 위한 대상국가의 외부환경분석 (External Environment Analysis of Target Countries for Overseas Expansion of Long-life Housing)

    • Currently, the Korean construction industry is shifting its interest to the overseas construction market because of a stagnating domestic market. In the meantime, the international housing construction market is expanding with respect to new city development projects that are supported by population growth and urban migration. Despite the Korean construction industry's expertise in new city development, technology, and systems for apartment supply, the share of Korean players in the international housing construction market is continuously decreasing. As a measure to overcome this situation, the authors of this study considered the paper "The Development of a Cost Effective, Long-life Housing Model and Construction of Testbed," which is currently in progress as a part of national project. Through literature review and interviews with experts, the authors determined that there are "column+minimum interior (infill)" apartments that are similar to the long-life housing in some areas of China, Southeast Asia, and Russia. Candidate countries expected to be feasible for the entry of long-life housing were selected by determining the top countries that have already entered the long-life housing market and analyzing those selections through additional specific techniques.     • This study collects and analyzes data on educational philosophy and method for domestic and overseas alternative schools. This information is then applied to educational purpose and curriculum for a home economics curriculum that develops unique characteristics for Korean alternative education.This study collected and analyzed the characteristics of educational content and educational elements from two renowned alternative schools: Waldorf School in Germany and Summer Hill in the United Kingdom. The research results were as follows. First, it is necessary to create new word instead of using the term 'alternative education'. Second, among characteristics of Korean home economics curriculum, 'practical problem-solving ability', 'independent living ability', and 'relation forming ability' should be utilized to create a school with an independent curriculum and to establish a unique brand value. Third, time investment on instructor education should be made to cultivate competent and charming instructors as the center of a school. Lastly, school education should manage student's life at school and after graduation. The school and instructor should provide alternative education while thinking they are responsible for 50 years of a student's future life. This study helps show that alternative education is not perceived as a superficial and generalized education and that Korean alternative education can find similar characteristic to those of overseas cases.

    • 건설엔지니어링의 사업비는 공사비의 $3{\sim}5%$정도에 지나지 않으나, 최종 사업목적물의 성능을 결정하는데 커다란 영향을 미치고 있어 매우 중요하다. 그러나 국내 건설기술수준에 대한 전문가 인식도 조사결과에 따르면 설계를 비롯한 우리나라의 엔지니어링능력은 선진국의 70%도 되지 않는 것으로 조사되어 해외진출 위한 국제경쟁력에 심각한 문제가 있는 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구는 국내외 건설엔지니어링 시장동향을 조사 분석하기 위하여 베트남 건설엔지니어링 시장분석을 위해 국내 해외건설 관련업체를 대상으로 해외진출시 문제점 및 전략에 대하여 설문조사를 실시하였고, 기존 문헌의 분석을 통하여 기본적인 이론의 정립과 함께 국내외 전문가 면담조사, 해외출장 등을 통하여 광범위한 의견수렴을 하였다. 본 연구에서는 국내 건설엔지니어링업체의 베트남 시장을 진출하기 위한 시장분석 결과를 토대로 베트남진출전략 방안을 마련하였으며 해외진출 활성화 방안으로서 현지화 기반구축, 기획제안형 사업창출, 공적개발원조의 지원 확대방안 등을 제안하였다.
