Relationship Between Additional Costs and Repurchase in Outbound Package Tour: Focused on the Role of Personal Services and Brand (해외 패키지여행에서 추가비용과 재구매의 관계 - 인적서비스와 브랜드 역할을 중심으로)

  • This article is focused to examine the influence of relationship between additional costs and repurchase in the outbound package tourists regard to the role of the personal service and brand. It is analysed that the additional costs don't have an effect on the repurchase. And also there is no relationship between repurchase and personal service for the tourists. However the role of the brand plays a mediated effect in repurchase in the outbound markets. Nonetheless the manager and contact employee of travel agents have an attention to the personal service quality and brand as well.

  • Recently, the rapid development of internet and information technology has led to rapid changes in many industries. One of the most rapidly developing industries is the call centers. Almost all public institutions, financial institutions including insurance companies, and shopping malls, many call center staffs are proceeding with the consultation. However, lack of call center staffs is leading to a lot of customers complaints. The function of outbound call centers such as promotion and sale of products is also arising some problems due to insufficient number of consulting staffs. In this study, we propose the call center model for maximizing the rate of call connection time and suggest the best way of call centers model to be the channel distributions using the data mining techniques.

  • This paper considers a single-product problem for inbound lot-sizing and outbound dispatching at a third-party warehouse, where the demand is dynamic over the discrete time horizon. Each demand must be delivered into the corresponding delivery time window which is the time interval characterized by the earliest and latest delivery dates of the demand. Ordered products are shipped by heterogeneous container types. Each container type has type-dependent carrying capacity and the unit freight cost depends on each container type. Total freight cost is proportional to the number of each container type used. Also it is assumed that related cost functions are concave and backlogging is not allowed. The objective of the paper is to simultaneously determine the optimal inbound lot-sizing and outbound dispatching plans that minimize total costs which include ordering, shipping, and inventory holding costs. The optimal solution properties are characterized for the problem and then a dynamic programming algorithm is presented to find the optimal solution.

  • Outbound market is a rapidly growing global industry, and has evolved into a 11 trillion won trade. A lot of recommender systems, which are based on collaborative and content filtering, target the existing purchase log or rely on studies based on similarity of products. These researches are not highly efficient as data was not obtained in advance, and acquiring the overwhelming amount of data has been relatively slow. The characteristics of an outbound product are that it should be purchased at least twice in a year, and its pricing should be in the higher category. Since the repetitive purchase of a product is rare for the outbound market, the old recommender system which profiles the existing customers is lacking, and has some limitations. Therefore, due to the scarcity of data, we suggest an improved customer-profiling method using web usage mining, algorithm of association rule, and rule-based algorithm, for faster recommender system of outbound product.

  • Top music 10 is a additional service product of the A mobile telephone company. Up to now, A company is just selling it by outbound TM to customers which visit any contents of Top Music 10. In this paper, we proposed a targeting method combining two score models by data mining. The proposed combining model is to find customers more likely to respond to outbound TM. The proposed targeting method is expected to improve both from 32.8% to 44.0% in the response rate and from 54.7% to 61.4% in the retention rate.

Numerical Analysis of Wasted Heat Recovery Ventilator for Improving the Heat Exchange Efficiency (폐열회수 환기장치의 열교환 효율 개선을 위한 전산수치해석)

  • In this paper, we performed numerical analysis to improve the heat exchange efficiency of wasted heat recovery ventilator which has a delivery and a exhaustion fan. One of the most important design factors that affect the efficiency of heat exchange is uniform counter-flow between inbound and outbound air flows. We had simulated several types of porous plates which were installed at air intake area. With plate having 45 degrees of installation angle and 15 mm diameter holes which are uniformly arranged, we can generate a uniform air flows at the area of porous media where inbound and outbound air flows are cross over. In addition, we installed a duct to reduce vortex flows at the outlet and to discharge exhaust airs rapidly. By using the proposed numerical assessment, we expect the improvement of the heat exchange efficiency of ventilator.

  • Studies have shown that the future of the wine market rests on the effective and efficient changes in technology to the supply chain used by most of the major global players. In today's wine industry, companies are faced with the ever-shifting demand for their products, strict regulation and increasing price competition. Even at that, mature companies in the wine industry are succeeding by scaling up production, streamlining their supply chains, expanding into new geographic areas, implementing more efficient processes, cleverly marketing products, and focusing on ever closer relationships with suppliers, partners and customers. However, this paper looks at supply chain challenges in the wine industry from a global perspective presented in the inbound, manufacturing and outbound processes as well as offer effective solutions in order for companies to gain a competitive advantage and succeed on a global level.

  • One of the important tactical problems for the efficient operation of container terminals is to determine the usage of storage space There are two different strategies for stacking containers; mixing strategy. in which outbound containers and inbound containers are mixed in the same block. and segregating strategy, in which outbound containers and inbound containers are stacked in blocks different from each other. The performance of space allocation strategies also depends on the types of handling equipment in the yard and the number of handling equipment allocated to each block. A simulation model is developed considering various handling characteristics of yard cranes. Performances of various space and equipment allocation strategies are evaluated by using the simulation model.

Outbound Air Travel Demand Forecasting Model with Unobserved Regional Characteristics (미관찰 지역 특성을 고려한 내국인 국제선 항공수요 추정 모형)

  • In order to meet the ever-increasing demand for international air travel, several plans are underway to open new airports and expand existing provincial airports. However, existing air demand forecasts have been based on the total air demand in Korea or the air demand among major cities. There is not much forecast of regional air demand considering local characteristics. In this study, the outbound air travel demand in the southeastern region of Korea was analyzed and the fixed-effects model using panel data was proposed as an optimal model that can reflect the inherent characteristics of metropolitan areas which are difficult to observe in reality. The results of model validation show that panel data analysis effectively addresses the spurious regression and unobserved heterogeneity that are difficult to handle in a model using only a few macroeconomic indicators with time series characteristics. Various statistical validation and conformance tests suggest that the fixed-effects model proposed in this study is superior to other econometric models in predicting demand for international demand in the southeastern region.
