  • This paper is proposed about three axis motion control camera design method based on wires. Original motion control camera consists of track, boom, L-Head, Camera and so on and is enormous and expensive. But proposed motion control camera adjusts wire length using encoders and motors. And position control use position based straight line of straight-line move method for moving precise position. Proposed simple design is able to use various place and inexpensive than original motion control camera. But, camera was vibrated and rotated due to basic property of wire. So we proposed solutions that connected method of wire and using a tensional object for reducing rotation. For proposed algorithm verification, we realized three axis motion control camera based on wire and measured oscillation while moving same trace. We confirmed the results that standard deviation of oscillation was reduced 4.93 degree than before design method.

  • An investigation of low Reynolds number flow in nozzles and diffusers which are widely used in the valveless micropump is presented. Flow characteristics in the nozzle and diffuser are explained in view of viscous effect and flow oscillation induced by pumping membrane. These calculation results show that the rectification property of valveless micropump is due to a flow separation in the diffuser and the separation is largely originated from the flow oscillation. Under the assumptions of steady flow velocity profile and flow separation in the diffuser, simplified analytical models are provided to see the dependency of rectification on the micropump geometry. Geometric parameters of channel length, nozzle throat, chamber size, and converging/diverging angle are depicted through the analytical models in low Reynolds number flow, and the prediction and experimental results are compared. This theoretical study can be used to determine the optimum geometry of valveless micropump.

  • The WCHF-FSJTC (wavelet circular harmonic function frequency selective joint transform correlator) using th wavelet transformed CHF as the reference image in FSJTC is proposed for rotation invariant pattern recognition. Since the wavelet transform has the property of feature extraction, the proposed system can have the better DC (discrimination cpability) and the higher SNR(signal to noise ratio) compared with the conventional CHF-CJTC(circular harmonic function conventional joint transform correlator). And since the structure of the proposed system is FSJTC which can eliminate auto-correlation and cross-correlation between input images, it can eliminate false alarm caused by the overlapping among correlation peaks. The used wavelet functio is the morlet function, which is proper for the reference image used in this paper. the optimal dialation parameter and oscillation frequency of the wavelet function are also achieved with varying the parameters of the wavelet function. The computer simulation shows that the proposed system has the best performance when the dilation parameter is 0.8 and the oscillation frequency is 0.48.

  • In Drosophila melanogaster, it is known that the circadian clock consists of an autoregulatory feedback loop, which includes so-called clock genes, such as per, tim, dClk and cyc and produces periodical expression of per. It is recently suggested, however, that the circadian oscillation without the rhythmical expression of per is involved in the regulation of circadian locomotor rhythms. In the present study, we examined the existence and the property of the possible per-less oscillation using arrhythmic clock mutant flies carrying per$^{01}$, tim$^{01}$, dClk$^{Jrk}$ or cyc$^{01}$. When temperature cycles consisting of 25$^{\circ}$C and 30$^{\circ}$C with varying periods (T = 8~32 hr) were given, they showed rhythms synchronizing with the given cycle under constant darkness (DD). per$^{01}$ and tim$^{01}$ flies always showed a peak around 7 hr after the onset of thermophase irrespective of Ts of temperature cycles, while dClk$^{Jrk}$ and cyc$^{01}$ flies did not. In addition, several days were necessary to establish a clear temperature entrainment in per$^{01}$ and tim$^{01}$ flies, when they were transferred from a constant temperature to a temperature cycle under DD. These results suggest that per$^{01}$ and tim$^{01}$ flies have a temperature-entrainable weak oscillatory mechanism. The fact that dClk$^{Jrk}$ and cyc$^{01}$ flies did not show any sign of the endogenous oscillation suggests that the per-less oscillatory mechanism may require CLK and CYC.

  • Exploration of the wave-mode identification and its propagating property in the solar pore is desirable to study the energy transfer in the solar atmosphere. The Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS) installed at the New Solar Telescope (NST) is a unique system that can do imaging of H-alpha and Ca II 8542 band simultaneously, which is quite suitable for studying of dynamics of chromosphere. In this study, we inspect a relationship between the cross-sectional area and intensity of the pore at continuum (-0.4 nm) near the Ca II line. We find coherent oscillations of the area and intensity. They shows out-of-phase (~ 180 degree difference) in photosphere, which implies that the oscillation is fast sausage mode. We also investigate a relationship between LOS velocities above the pore obtained from the Ca II and the Ha line cores, and find no significant difference of the phase (~10 degree) between the formation heights of the lines in chromosphere.

  • In this study, piezoelectric AC-DC converter using ring-dot type multilayer piezoelectric transformer with no anisotropic of polarization was developed. Considering the characteristics of piezoelectric transformer which is very narrow operating frequency range, piezoelectric converter was designed with mixed structure of PFM driving method for feedback control of oscillation frequency and PWM driving method for output control. Maximum power and allowed current of the developed piezoelectric converter showing stable driving with minimum heat was 25W and 900mA, respectively. The output voltage of the piezoelectric converter was controlled by the driving oscillation frequency and showed stable and efficient operating characteristics at the maximum power.

  • To derive a simplified analytic solution which can be utilized as a fundamental solution for the wave maker design, a segment of the wave board has been idealized as a submerged line segment in a two dimensional domain of a wave flume. The lower end of the line segment could be located at arbitrary depth of the wave flume and the upper end of the board could be also submerged to any depth from the free surface. The freely oscillating motion of the wave board is assumed to be defined by determining the condition of horizontal oscillation on both ends differently. The submerged wave board oscillating in horizontal direction could be specified by selecting the amplitude, frequency and the phase lag differently on lower and upper ends of the board. The simplified two dimensional wave generated by the wave board segment has been obtained by the first order perturbation method. It is found that the general solution of the freely oscillating wave board in two dimensional domain could be decomposed into the solution of flap motion with lower end hinge and swing motion with upper end hinge. The case study of the analytic solutions has been carried out to evaluate the effect on the wave height due to the difference of oscillation frequency, phase difference and variation of stroke between for the motion of both ends. It is found that the solution of the freely oscillating wave board could be utilized for the development of high performance wavemaker especially for irregular waves.

  • In this paper, a meshfree-enriched finite element method (ME-FEM) is introduced for the large deformation analysis of nonlinear path-dependent problems involving contact. In linear ME-FEM, the element formulation is established by introducing a meshfree convex approximation into the linear triangular element in 2D and linear tetrahedron element in 3D along with an enriched meshfree node. In nonlinear formulation, the area-weighted smoothing scheme for deformation gradient is then developed in conjunction with the meshfree-enriched element interpolation functions to yield a discrete divergence-free property at the integration points, which is essential to enhance the stress calculation in the stage of plastic deformation. A modified variational formulation using the smoothed deformation gradient is developed for path-dependent material analysis. In the industrial metal forming problems, the mortar contact algorithm is implemented in the explicit formulation. Since the meshfree-enriched element shape functions are constructed using the meshfree convex approximation, they pose the desired Kronecker-delta property at the element edge thus requires no special treatments in the enforcement of essential boundary condition as well as the contact conditions. As a result, this approach can be easily incorporated into a conventional displacement-based finite element code. Two elasto-plastic problems are studied and the numerical results indicated that ME-FEM is capable of delivering a volumetric locking-free and pressure oscillation-free solutions for the large deformation problems in metal forming analysis.

  • To design parts satisfying physical property in the continuous region, we do it in the discrete rectangular mesh points. Then we obtain points data from parts design and usually construct the surface using least squares method. In such case, that surface has an oscillation in the ineffective region which is inadequate for physical phenomena or NC machining. To solve both problems simultaneously, we extend the surface smoothly to have small curvature in the extended region. Up to now, we use the least squares method for the parts design in Color Picture Tube or Color Display Tube but in this paper, we use functions which is easily controllable. This surface has no error within the effective region compared to the least squares method.

  • The oscillatory interlayer exchange coupling (IEC) has been shown in pinned $[CoFe/Pt(t_{pt})/CoFe]/IrMn$ multi-layers with perpendicular anisotropy. The period of oscillation corresponds to about 2 monolayers of Pt. The oscillatory behavior of IEC depending on the nonmagnetic metallic Pt thickness is thought to be related the antiferromagnetic ordering induced by IrMn layer. Oscillatory IEC as function of insulating NiO thickness has been observed in $[Pt/CoFe]_4/NiO(t_{NiO})/[CoFe/Pt]_4$ multilayers. The effect of N (number of bilayer repeats) upon the magnetic property of [Pt/CoFe]N/IrMn is also studied.
