Iteration functions $K_m(z)$ and $U_m(z)$, $m{\geq}2$are defined recursively using the determinant of a matrix. We show that the fixed-iterations of $K_m(z)$ and $U_m(z)$ converge to a simple zero with order of convergence m and give closed form expansions of $K_m(z)$ and $U_m(z)$: To show the convergence, we derive a recursion formula for $L_m$ and then apply the idea of Ford or Pomentale. We also find a Toeplitz matrix whose determinant is $L_m(z)/(f^{\prime})^m$, and then we adapt the well-known results of Gerlach and Kalantari et.al. to give closed form expansions.

We describe a fast numerical method for non-separable elliptic equations in self-adjoin form on irregular adaptive domains. One of the most successful results in numerical PDE is developing rapid elliptic solvers for separable EPDEs, for example, Fourier transformation methods for Poisson problem on a square, however, it is known that there is no rapid elliptic solvers capable of solving a general nonseparable problems. It is the purpose of this paper to present an iterative solver for linear EPDEs in self-adjoint form. The scheme discussed in this paper solves a given non-separable equation using a sequence of solutions of Poisson equations, therefore, the most important key for such a method is having a good Poison solver. High performance is achieved by using a fast high-order adaptive Poisson solver which requires only about 500 floating point operations per gridpoint in order to obtain machine precision for both the computed solution and its partial derivatives. A few numerical examples have been presented.
The convective flow structures in the vapor phase on earth are shown to be single unicellular, indicating the solutally dominant convection is important. These findings reflect that the total molar fluxes show asymmetrical patterns in a viewpoint of interfacial distributions. With decreasing the gravitational level form $1g_0$ down to $1.0{\times}10^{-4}g_0$, the total molar fluxes decay first order exponentially. It is also found that the total molar fluxes decay first order exponentially with increasing the partial pressure of component B, PB (Torr) form 5 Torr up to 400 Torr. Under microgravity environments less than $1g_0$, a diffusive-convection mode is dominant and, results in much uniformity in front of the crystal regions in comparisons with a normal gravity acceleration of $1g_0$.

We propose the framework which directly links shell finite element to the free form surface geometric modeling. For the development of a robust shell element, a first order shear deformable shell theory and partial mixed variational functional are provided. Bubble functions are included in the shape function of displacement to improve the performance of the developed element. The Spline/NURBS is used to generate the general free form of parameterized shell surfaces. The proposed shell finite element model linked with NURBS surface representation provides efficiency for design and analysis. Numerical examples are given in order to assess the accuracy of the performances of the proposed element.
A mechanism for the ring formation of nickel phthalocyanine (Ni-Pc) has been proposed based on chemical kinetics. The effect of the catalyst on the rate was examined, and ammonium molybdate has been found to be the most effective. The reaction order of the ring formation was determined to be of the 1st order over all, with only the concentration of urea affecting the rate of the ring formation. All the results including thermodynamic parameters support a conclusion that the rate-determining step seems to be the enolization of the urea-catalyst transition complex, followed by fast decomposition of the tautomeric enolized urea into ammonia and isocyanic acid. These intermediates then reacted with the phthalic anhydride to form imino and diimino-phthalimide, which condense to form nickel phthalocyanine in the presence of the nickel cation.

This paper presents a method of hierarchical state estimation of the time-varying linear systems via Block-pulse function(BPF). When we estimate the state of the systems where noise is considered, it is very difficult to obtain the solutions because minimum error variance matrix having a form of matrix nonlinear differential equations is included in the filter gain calculation. Therefore, hierarchical approach is adapted to transpose matrix nonlinear differential equations to a sum of low order state space equation from and Block-pulse functions are used for solving each low order state space equation in the form of simple and recursive algebraic equation. We believe that presented methods are very attractive nd proper for state estimation of time-varying linear systems on account of its simplicity and computational convenience. This paper presents a new efficient method for transient analysis in magnetodynamic systems of linear eddy current problems. This mehtod employs the Fourier transform and the high-order frequency sensitivity of harmonic finite element method. By taking into account the time-constant of magnetodynamic system, the Fourier integral of continuous frequency is converted into the Fourier series of discrete frequency. And with the results of Fourier series expansion of converted input wave form, the responses of each sinusoids is superposed to give the total response of the magnetodynamic systems. But, if the frequency band of input wave form is broad, it takes long computational time since all responses for each sinusoids must be calculated. Therefore, the high-order frequency sensitivity method is employed to estimate the response variation to frequency. The proposed algorithm is applied to an induction heating system to validate its numerical efficiency.
In the present work, an analytical solution for the static analysis of laminated composites, functionally graded and sandwich singly and doubly curved panels on the rectangular plan-form, subjected to uniformly distributed transverse loading is presented. Mathematical formulation is based on the higher order shear deformation theory and principle of virtual work is applied to derive the equations of equilibrium subjected to small deformation. A solution methodology based on the fast converging finite double Chebyshev series is used to solve the linear partial differential equations along with the simply supported boundary condition. The effect of span to thickness ratio, radius of curvature to span ratio, stacking sequence, power index are investigated. The accuracy of the solution is checked by the convergence study of non-dimensional central deflection and moments. Present results are compared with those available in the literature.

A series of tests of 5 model ships, selected from a data survey of 10 Gross Tonnage actual fishing boats, were performed in two circulating water channels (Chosun University in Korea and WJFEL in Japan), in order to develop the basic hull form of a 25 knots-class fishing boat. Resistance tests, trim and sinkage measurements and wave pattern observations etc., were included in each I1wdel test, and the model test results were compared and analyzed. The result was as follows: P-4 hull form ship changed into Deep V type bow is the best hull form with good performance, especially with regard to ship's resistance efficiency.
The purpose of this study is to define the aesthetic consciousness in the late Modernism fashion which generated a sudden style change and craze, and to identify the essential meaning of the style. In order to achieve this the aesthetic approach was applied. Visual commonalities were sought between fashion and contemporary architecture, furniture, ceramic and metalware, to lead to a deeper insight into the aesthetic consciousness. Common visual characteristics are curvedness of the line, obliqueness of the line, asymmetry of the form, exaggeration of the form and symbolic nature of the form. The content which can be analogized from the visual characteristics are the beauty of the nature, the beauty of the glamourous feminity, the beauty of the ideal and the beauty of the creative personality. In the creating process, the existential aspect of human being became a focus of attention, and human being's subjectivity operated as a principal force. In the late Modernism fashion, the appreciator's aesthetic experience became more important, and the appreciator's psychological satisfaction and pleasure were considered in the creative process. Fashion, architecture and crafts, which fulfill functional duties in everyday life, facilitated the appreciator's aesthetic experience through empathy. This study inquires into the relationship between aesthetic consciousness and visual form. This study offers meaning because to uncover the connoted aesthetic consciousness in the late Modernism fashion is to pursue the roots of current aesthetic consciousness and it is hoped that in doing so this study will provide a basis for interpreting and understanding today's fashion style.
