최적의 임계값을 고려한 K-out-of-n 협력 스펙트럼 검출 기법 (A Cooperative K-out-of-n Spectrum Sensing Method Considering Optimal Threshold)

  • 본 논문에서는 에너지 검출 기법의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 각각의 SU(Secondary User)에서 수신한 PU(Primaty User) 신호의 크기를 바탕으로 대수적 연산을 통해 에러 확률이 가장 낮은 최적의 임계값을 찾아 PU의 신호를 검출하는 기법을 제안하며 최적의 임계값을 고려해 생성된 local decision을 바탕으로 가장 낮은 에러 확률을 보이는 K-out-of-n 법칙에 적용하는 방법을 연구한다. 각각의 SU에서 최적의 임계값을 찾고 본 논문에서 제안하는 기법의 성능 평가를 위해 Matlab을 이용하여 이를 시뮬레이션하고, 기존의 협력 스펙트럼 검출 기법 중 하나인 OR 법칙과 비교 분석한다. Matlab을 이용한 시뮬레이션 결과, 최적의 임계값을 이용한 K-out-of-n 법칙이 기존의 OR 법칙에 비해 오 경보 확률 및 미 검출 확률이 감소한 것을 알 수 있다.

A Fast CU Size Decision Optimal Algorithm Based on Neighborhood Prediction for HEVC

  • High efficiency video coding (HEVC) employs quadtree coding tree unit (CTU) structure to improve its coding efficiency, but at the same time, it also requires a very high computational complexity due to its exhaustive search processes for an optimal coding unit (CU) partition. With the aim of solving the problem, a fast CU size decision optimal algorithm based on neighborhood prediction is presented for HEVC in this paper. The contribution of this paper lies in the fact that we successfully use the partition information of neighborhood CUs in different depth to quickly determine the optimal partition mode for the current CU by neighborhood prediction technology, which can save much computational complexity for HEVC with negligible RD-rate (rate-distortion rate) performance loss. Specifically, in our scheme, we use the partition information of left, up, and left-up CUs to quickly predict the optimal partition mode for the current CU by neighborhood prediction technology, as a result, our proposed algorithm can effectively solve the problem above by reducing many unnecessary prediction and partition operations for HEVC. The simulation results show that our proposed fast CU size decision algorithm based on neighborhood prediction in this paper can reduce about 19.0% coding time, and only increase 0.102% BD-rate (Bjontegaard delta rate) compared with the standard reference software of HM16.1, thus improving the coding performance of HEVC.

Augmented D-Optimal Design for Effective Response Surface Modeling and Optimization

  • For effective response surface modeling during sequential approximate optimization (SAO), the normalized and the augmented D-optimality criteria are presented. The normalized D-optimality criterion uses the normalized Fisher information matrix by its diagonal terms in order to obtain a balance among the linear-order and higher-order terms. Then, it is augmented to directly include other experimental designs or the pre-sampled designs. This augmentation enables the trust region managed sequential approximate optimization to directly use the pre-sampled designs in the overlapped trust regions in constructing the new response surface models. In order to show the effectiveness of the normalized and the augmented D-optimality criteria, following two comparisons are performed. First, the information surface of the normalized D-optimal design is compared with those of the original D-optimal design. Second, a trust-region managed sequential approximate optimizer having three D-optimal designs is developed and three design problems are solved. These comparisons show that the normalized D-optimal design gives more rotatable designs than the original D-optimal design, and the augmented D-optimal design can reduce the number of analyses by 30% - 40% than the original D-optimal design.

  • A combined optimal design problem is discussed taking a 3-D truss structure as a design object. We use descriptor forms for a controlled object and a generalized plant because the structural parameters appear naturally in these forms. We consider not only the minimum weight design problem for the structure, but also the suppression problem of the effect of disturbances for the control system as the purpose of the design. A numerical example shows the validity of combined optimal design of the structure and control systems. We also consider the validity of the sensor-actuator collocation for the control system design in this paper.

  • This paper investigated optimal design for slim wall mount arm for flat TV. Recently the number of flat TV sets in use went on increasing in TV market. As the flat TV sets are getting common, consumers came to need another requirements like aesthetic factor besides display performances. As the new TV sets tend to be slimmer due to aesthetic design, Wall mount also requires to be slimmer for aesthetic balance. Slim structures, however, are vulnerable to structural rigidity. In this study, slim wall mount arm has been designed by 3D CAD and DOE (Design of Experiments) and finite element analysis for optimal structural design were carried out to determine the design variables for minimize working stress of wall mount arm. Finally two optimal design conditions were selected through DOE and FEM and one of those was chosen under constraint of minimizing blanking developed length.

  • This paper presents optimal walking trajectory generation for a quadruped robot with genetic-fuzzy algorithm. In order to move a quadruped robot smoothly, both generations of optimal leg trajectory and free walking are required. Generally, making free walking is difficult to realize for a quadruped robot, because the patterned trajectory may interfere in the free walking. In this paper, we suggest the generation method for the leg trajectory satisfied with free walking pattern so as to avoid obstacle and walk smoothly. We generate via points of leg with respect to body motion, and then we use the genetic-fuzzy algorithm to search for the optimal via velocity and acceleration information of legs. All these methods are verified with PC simulation program, and implemented to SERO-V robot.

  • 선박에서 항해시간을 줄이고 연료소비를 절감하기 위하여 최적항로의 결정하는 작업은 선박운항의 가장 중요한 요소이다. 최근, 보다 빠르고, 정확한 최적항로를 결정하기 위해 전자해도시스템이 개발되고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 시스템에 탐색의 알고리즘 중 최선의 탐색해를 제공하는 $A^*$알고리즘을 전자해도 시스템에 적용하였다. 그러나 $A^*$알고리즘의 적용은 과도한 탐색시간과 많은 메모리를 요구하는 문제점이 있다는 사실이 발견되었고 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 장애물을 발견했을 때 탐색 후보 선정에 가중치를 부여하는 보다 개선된 알고리즘의 필요성을 제안하고자 한다.

THE METHOD TO CONSTRUCT THE STRONG COMBINED-OPTIMAL DESIGN

  • The technique of foldover is usually used by experimenters to de-alias the effects that are interesting in follow-up experiment. Employing a $2^{k-p}$ design with resolution III or higher, Li and Lin (2003) developed an algorithm and used computer programs to search its corresponding optimal foldover design for selected 16-run and 32-run experiments. Based on the minimum aberration criterion, the strong combined-optimal design, defined by Li and Lin, is the better choice of the initial design. In this article, we apply the technique of blocking to find the strong combined-optimal designs. Furthermore, we will tabulate all 16-run and 32-run strong combined-optimal designs and their corresponding core foldover plans for practical use. Some new designs that have not appeared in the other literature but constructed by the technique of blocking are also proposed in this article.

  • This study examines self-compacting of concrete using Ground Calcium Carbonate(GCC) gathering in limestone mine of Banyans district in order to make self-compacting concrete in the range of design strength 300kgf/cm$^2$ and the optimal mix proportion of self-compacting concrete that can use in field structure. The result shows that the optimal GCC replacement ratio is 45$\pm$5% in the normal strength of design strength 300kgf/cm$^2$ and that the volume ratio of the optimal fine aggregate used as the way satisfying both viscosity and compacting ability without separating materials is 46%. The optimal volume ratio of the coarse aggregate considering the economical aspect of concrete is 50%. It is desirable that the optimal mix proportion satisfying self-compacting for replacement of GCC is decided through mix design according to each replacement ratio.

Optimal Design of Accelerated Life Tests with Different Censoring Times

  • This paper presents optimal accelerated life test plans with different censoring times for exponential, Weibull, and lognormal lifetime distributions, respectively. For an optimal plan, low stress level, proportion of test units allocated and censoring time at each stress are determined such that the asymptotic variance of the maximum likelihood estimator of a certain quantile at use condition is minimized. The proposed plans are compared with the corresponding optimal plans with a common censoring time over range of parameter values. Computational results indicate that those plans are statistically optimal ones in terms of accuracy of estimator when total censoring times of two plans are equal.
