  • Many of the currently used PN code acquisition algorithms detect the phase of the incoming PN signal on the basis of ML estimation principle and utilize statistics grounded in taking inner products. As an extension of PN code acquisition algorithm using one auxiliary code introduced by Salih in 1996, we propose a more and optimal (hardware / time / space complexity wise) algorithm by using a vector space approach. We outline some important differences between our algorithm and that introduced by Salih and in the process point out some advantages of our algorithm.

  • This research aims here to develop a certain extended double sampling plan, EDS, which is an extension of ordinary double sampling plan in the sense that the second-stage sampling effort and second-stage critical value are allowed to depend on the point at which the first-stage continuation region is traversed. For purpose of comparison, single sampling plan, optimal ordinary double sampling plan(ODS) and sequential probability ratio test are considered with the same overall error rates, respectively. It is observed that the EDS idea allows less sampling effort than the optimal ODS.

  • A signal equipment improvement project for the existing facility ATS to ATP is under construction in Kyung-Bu and Ho-Nam commercial line including 400 rolling stocks. But there was a concern for the interface between KTX OBCS and ATP from the beginning of the project. At present, this is the front burner event. This paper introduces interface checking and predicted failure point between KTX OBCS and ATP improvement system. Through this measure the optimal installation of the ATP will be possible. The study was made under maintenance efficiency including reliability because the KTX signal equipment must qualify the above condition.

  • In this paper we consider empirical Bayes estimation of the hazard rate and survival probabilities with right censored data under the assumption that the hazard function is constant over the period of observation and the prior distribution is gamma. We provide an estimator of the first derivative of the prior moment generating function that converges at each point to the true value in $L_2$ and use it to obtain, easy to compute, asymptotically optimal estimators under the squared error loss function.

A Rule-based Optimal Placement of Scaling Shifts in Floating-point to Fixed-point Conversion for a Fixed-point Processor

  • In the past decade, several tools have been developed to automate the floating-point to fixed-point conversion for DSP systems. In the conversion process, a number of scaling shifts are introduced, and they inevitably alter the original code sequence. Recently, we have observed that a compiler can often be adversely affected by this alteration, and consequently fails to generate efficient machine code for its target processor. In this paper, we present an optimization technique that safely migrates scaling shifts to other places within the code so that the compiler can produce better-quality code. We consider our technique to be safe in that it does not introduce new overflows, yet preserving the original SQNR. The experiments on a commercial fixed-point DSP processor exhibit that our technique is effective enough to achieve tangible improvement on code size and speed for a set of benchmarks.

Minimum time path planning of robotic manipulator in drilling/spot welding tasks

  • In this paper, a minimum time path planning strategy is proposed for multi points manufacturing problems in drilling/spot welding tasks. By optimizing the travelling schedule of the set points and the detailed transfer path between points, the minimum time manufacturing task is realized under fully utilizing the dynamic performance of robotic manipulator. According to the start-stop movement in drilling/spot welding task, the path planning problem can be converted into a traveling salesman problem (TSP) and a series of point to point minimum time transfer path planning problems. Cubic Hermite interpolation polynomial is used to parameterize the transfer path and then the path parameters are optimized to obtain minimum point to point transfer time. A new TSP with minimum time index is constructed by using point-point transfer time as the TSP parameter. The classical genetic algorithm (GA) is applied to obtain the optimal travelling schedule. Several minimum time drilling tasks of a 3-DOF robotic manipulator are used as examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

건설현장 3차원 점군 데이터 정합 정확성 향상을 위한 중첩비율 분석 (Analysis of overlap ratio for registration accuracy improvement of 3D point cloud data at construction sites)

  • Comparing to general scanning data, the 3D digital map for large construction sites and complex buildings consists of millions of points. The large construction site needs to be scanned multiple times by drone photogrammetry or terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) survey. The scanned point cloud data are required to be registrated with high resolution and high point density. Unlike the registration of 2D data, the matrix of translation and rotation are used for registration of 3D point cloud data. Archiving high accuracy with 3D point cloud data is not easy due to 3D Cartesian coordinate system. Therefore, in this study, iterative closest point (ICP) registration method for improve accuracy of 3D digital map was employed by different overlap ratio on 3D digital maps. This study conducted the accuracy test using different overlap ratios of two digital maps from 10% to 100%. The results of the accuracy test presented the optimal overlap ratios for an ICP registration method on digital maps.

고속도로 합류구간 첨단 차로변경 보조 시스템 개발 : 최적 차로변경 시작 지점 Positioning 알고리즘 (Advanced Lane Change Assist System for Automatic Vehicle Control in Merging Sections : An algorithm for Optimal Lane Change Start Point Positioning)

  • 차로변경은 운전자의 숙련된 주변인식 및 운전기술이 요구되어 심각한 교통사고를 야기한다. 그리하여 우리는 불가피한 차로변경이 대두되는 고속도로 합류구간에서 본선으로 합류하는 차량의 차로변경을 보조하는 차량 자동제어 시스템 (ALCAS; Advanced Lane Change Assist System)을 개발한다. 본 연구에서는 ALCAS 중 조향이 수행되기 이전에 최적 차로변경 시작지점(Optimal Lane Change Start Point; OLCSP)을 생성하고 그 지점까지 도달하는 종방향 제어 알고리즘 개발에 초점을 두었다. 이를 위해 우선 고속도로 합류구간의 차로변경 행태를 분석하였고, 실제 차량의 가속도 함수 형태를 통해 차로변경 특징모형(Lane Change Feature Model)을 설계하였다. 그 후 차로변경 수행 단계를 정립하였으며, 이 알고리즘 성능과 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 다양한 주변차량 주행환경에 따른 시나리오 시험을 수행하였다. 또한 개발된 알고리즘의 효과를 미시적 교통류 시뮬레이션 (VISSIM)을 통해 확인하였다. 개발한 알고리즘을 합류차량에 적용한 결과 안정류 상태에서 합류성능이 두드러지게 개선되는 것을 확인하였다. 이 차량 자동제어 시스템은 교통 자동차 분야 융합기술의 일환으로 개발되었으며, 운전자의 부하와 오류를 감소시켜 효율성과 안전성을 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라 교통류의 안정성, 임계용량, 주행 효율성의 증대로 사회비용 감소를 기대할 수 있다.
