  • This paper presents the new three-level optimal control scheme for the large scale nonlinear systems, which is based on fast walsh transform. It is well known that optimization for nonlinear systems leads to the resolution of a nonlinear two point boundary value problem which always requires a numerical iterative technique for their solution. However, Three-level costate coordination can avoid two point boundary condition in subsystem. But this method also has the defect that must solve high order differential equation in intermediate level. The proposed method makes use of fast walsh transform, therefore, is simple in computation because of solving algebra equation instead of differential equation.

  • There are a lot of paths which connect between the mobile robot and the goat point. To make a mobile robot arrive at the goal point fastly, The optimal path is needed and a path palnning is necessary. In this paper, we propose a new method of path planning to find a path for mobile robot. It is based on Ginetic Algorithm for serching the optimal grobal path planning. Simulations show the efficiency for the grobal path planning.

  • This study is on the thermal flow analysis to select an optimal shape of solar lamp bank. Solar Lamp bank is designed by the lamp bank design program based on point light source theory. The reliability of the program for lamp bank design is verified through irradiance variation experiments of a kind of lamp according to horizontal distance. Solar lamp bank facilitates heat distribution and satisfies the irradiance in the three wave length which test guidelines require. Among the 4 kinds of lamp bank, since lamp bank type D satisfies uniformity ${\pm}10%$ and also doesn't exceed total irradiance 1,232 $W/m^2$, type D is finally selected.

  • Determination of a two-point boundary value problem is the key of finding the control function u(t) with the application of the fundamental idea of Minimum principle. The late development shows the discovery of the initial costate vector for the solution of a two-point value problem. As a new technique of determining the optimal control function, Newton's Sequential method is examined about a number of engineering problems and found available.

  • This paper suggests heuristic algorithm with linear time complexity to decide the normal and optimal point at minimum loss/maximum profit maximum shortest scheduling problem with additional loss cost and bonus profit cost. This algorithm computes only the earliest ending time for each node. Therefore, this algorithm can be get the critical path and project duration within O(n) time complexity and reduces the five steps of critical path method to one step. The proposed algorithm can be show the result more visually than linear programming and critical path method. For real experimental data, the proposed algorithm obtains the same solution as linear programming more quickly.

  • This paper proposes a framework for determining the minimum load shedding for restoring solvability. The framework includes a continuation power flow (CPF) and an optimal power flow (OPF). The CPF parameterizes a specified outage from a set of multiple contingencies causing unsolvable cases, and it traces the path of solutions with respect to the parameter variation. At the nose point of the path, sensitivity analysis is performed in order to achieve the most effective control location for load shedding. Using the control location information, the OPF for locating the minimum load shedding is executed in order to restore power flow solvability. It is highlighted that the framework systematically determines control locations and the proper amount of load shedding. In a numerical simulation, an illustrative example of the proposed framework is shown by applying it to the New England 39 bus system.

  • The optimal AP placement for wireless LAN is important factor for improving service quality and reducing cost. Logical area property, which is user's frequently posed place, must be considerated for flexible design. This paper proposes optimal multiple AP placement method based on path loss model which is one of radio prediction tool. The proposed method can got flexibility in multiple AP placement using user's defined parameter and tile optimization design uses Hopfield network algorithm The result of simulation shows that the proposed optimization design of multiple AP placement can improve service quality for wireless LAN.

  • This paper proposes a numerical method of motion planning for manipulators using Foruier series. For a redundant manipulator, we predetermine the trajectories of redundant joints in terms of the Nth partial sum of the fourier series. then the optimal coefficients of the fourier series are searched by the Powell's method. For a nonredundant or redundant manipulator, CS02T-continuous smooth joint trajectory for a point-to-point task can be obtained while considering the frequency response. We apply the proposed method to the 3-link planar manipulator and the PUMA 560 manipulator. To show the validity of the proposed method, we analyze solutions by the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). Also, several features are discussed to obtain an optimal solution.

  • The hydraulic cylinder is used for actuating the sluice gate which controls the volume of water in the reservoir. The locating points of hydraulic cylinder are restricted to limited space and determined to minimize the cylinder force necessary for actuating the sluice gate. Generally, the head end point of cylinder is fixed at underground and the rod end point of cylinder is connected to the gate plate when it is fully opened. Therefore there exist three parameters to be determined to minimize the cylinder force in the operation range of sluice gate. The optimal locating points of hydraulic cylinder are obtained using the complex method that is one kind of constrained direct search m method.

  • This paper investigates the design of multi-winding coupled inductor for minimum inductor current ripple in rapid traction battery charger systems. Based on the general circuit model of multi-winding coupled inductor together with the operating principles of dc-dc converter, the relationship between the ripple size of inductor current and the coupling factor is derived under the different duty ratio. The optimal coupling factor which corresponds to a minimum inductor ripple current becomes -(1/n-1), i.e. a complete inverse coupling without leakage inductance, as the steady-state duty ratio operating point approaches 1/n, 2/n, … or (n1)/n. In an opposite manner, the optimal coupling factor value of zero, i.e. zero mutual inductance, is required when the steady-state duty ratio operating point approaches either zero or one.
