  • Due to the proliferation of the Internet and intranet, a new application domain called stream data processing has emerged. Stream data is real-timely and continuously generated. In this paper, we focus on the processing of stream data whose characteristics vary unpredictably by over time. Particularly, we suggest a method which generates an efficient operator execution order called WT-Heuristics. WT-Heuristics efficiently determines the operator execution order since it considers only two adjacent operators in the operator execution order. Also, our method changes the execution order with respect to the change of data characteristics with minimum overheads.

  • It is reported that about 20% of accidents at nuclear power plants in Korea and abroad are caused by human error. One of the main factors contributing to human error is fatigue, so it is necessary to prevent human errors that may occur when the task is performed in an improper state by grasping the status of the operator in advance. In this study, we propose a method of evaluating operator's fitness-for-duty (FFD) using various parameters including eye movement data, subjective fatigue ratings, and operator's performance. Parameters for evaluating FFD were selected through a literature survey. We performed experiments that test subjects who felt various levels of fatigue monitor information of indicators and diagnose a system malfunction. In order to find meaningful characteristics in measured data consisting of various parameters, hierarchical clustering analysis, an unsupervised machine-learning technique, is used. The characteristics of each cluster were analyzed; fitness-for-duty of each cluster was evaluated. The appropriateness of the number of clusters obtained through clustering analysis was evaluated using both the Elbow and Silhouette methods. Finally, it was statistically shown that the suggested methodology for evaluating FFD does not generate additional fatigue in subjects. Relevance to industry: The methodology for evaluating an operator's fitness for duty in advance is proposed, and it can prevent human errors that might be caused by inappropriate condition in nuclear industries.

  • In the five first sections of this paper we define and study the hypergeometric transmutation operators $V^W_k$ and $^tV^W_k$ called also the trigonometric Dunkl intertwining operator and its dual corresponding to the Heckman-Opdam's theory on ${\mathbb{R}}^d$. By using these operators we define the hypergeometric translation operator ${\mathcal{T}}^W_x$, $x{\in}{\mathbb{R}}^d$, and its dual $^t{\mathcal{T}}^W_x$, $x{\in}{\mathbb{R}}^d$, we express them in terms of the hypergeometric Fourier transform ${\mathcal{H}}^W$, we give their properties and we deduce simple proofs of the Plancherel formula and the Plancherel theorem for the transform ${\mathcal{H}}^W$. We study also the hypergeometric convolution product on W-invariant $L^p_{\mathcal{A}k}$-spaces, and we obtain some interesting results. In the sixth section we consider a some root system of type $BC_d$ (see [17]) of whom the corresponding hypergeometric translation operator is a positive integral operator. By using this positivity we improve the results of the previous sections and we prove others more general results.

  • Using data gathered from expert opinion of plant and equipment professionals; this paper presents the key variables that may constitute a maintenance proficient plant operator. The Multivariate Discriminant Analysis (MDA) was applied to generate data and was tested for sensitivity analysis. Results showed that the MDA model was able to classify plant operators' proficiency at 94.10 percent accuracy and determined nine (9) key variables of a maintenance proficient plant operator. The key variables included: i) number of years of experience as equipment operator (PQ1); ii) eye-hand coordination (PQ9); iii) eye-hand-foot coordination (PQ10); iv) planning skills (TE16); v) pay/wage (MQ1); vi) work satisfaction (MQ4); vii) operator responsibilities as defined by management (MF1); viii) clear management policies (MF4); and ix) management pay scheme (MF5). The classification procedure of nine variables formed the general model with the equation viz: OMP (general) = 0.516PQ1 + 0.309PQ9 + 0.557PQ10 + 0.831TE16 + 0.8MQ1 + 0.0216MQ4 + 0.136MF1 + 0.28MF4 + 0.332MF5 - 4.387

  • Hankel operators and their variants have abundant applications in numerous fields. For a non-zero complex number r, the r-Hankel operators on a Hilbert space 𝓗 define a class of one such variant. This article introduces and explores some properties of two other variants of Hankel operators namely kth-order (C, r)-Hankel operators and kth-order (R, r)-Hankel operators (k ≥ 2) which are closely related to r-Hankel operators in such a way that a kth-order (C, r)-Hankel matrix is formed from rk-Hankel matrix on deleting every consecutive (k - 1) columns after the first column and a kth-order (R, rk)-Hankel matrix is formed from r-Hankel matrix if after the first column, every consecutive (k - 1) columns are deleted. For |r| ≠ 1, the characterizations for the boundedness of these operators are also completely investigated. Finally, an appropriate approach is also presented to extend these matrices to two-way infinite matrices.

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach that enhances the continuous optimization performance of the MAP-Elites algorithm. The existing self-referencing MAP-Elites algorithm employed the "DE/rand/1/bin" operator from the differential evolution algorithm, which, due to its lack of rotational invariance, led to a degradation in optimization performance when there were high correlations among variables. The proposed algorithm replaces the "DE/rand/1/bin" operator with the "DE/current-to-rand/1" operator. This operator, possessing rotational invariance, ensures robust performance even in cases where there are high correlations among variables. Experimental results confirm that the proposed algorithm performs better than the comparison algorithms.

  • Let M be a complete Riemannian manifold and L be a $Schr\"{o}dinger$ operator on M. We prove that if M has finitely many L-nonparabolic ends, then the space of bounded L-harmonic functions on M has the same dimension as the sum of dimensions of the spaces of bounded L-harmonic functions on the L-nonparabolic end, which vanish at the boundary of the end.

  • We iteratively generate a sequence of measurable mappings and study necessary conditions for its convergence to a random fixed point of random nonexpansive operator. A random fixed point theorem for random nonexpansive operator, relaxing the convexity condition on the underlying space, is also proved. As an application, we obtained random fixed point theorems for Caristi type random operators.

  • In this work, we consider a finite difference operator $L^2_N$ corresponding to $$Lu:=-(u_{xx}+u_{yy})\;in\;{\Omega},\;u=0\;on\;{\partial}{\Omega}$$, in $S_{h^2,1}$. We derive the relation between the absolute value of the bilinear form $l_{N^2}$(u, v) on $S_{h^2,1}{\times}S_{h^2,1}$ and Sobolev $H^1$ norms.

  • In this paper, we have the extended result of Bunce's theorem. And we show that if T is an irreducible p-hyponormal operator such that T*T-TT* is compact, then ${\sigma}_{ap}(T)={\sigma}_e(T)$ and ${\sigma}_p({\phi}(T))={\sigma}_e({\phi}(T))$.
